Big Bear Lake Sledding and Snow Play with Kids and Airbnb Cabin

  • Of all the mountains surrounding Los Angeles, Big Bear Lake has the most snow throughout the season due to its high elevation.
    Surrounding Big Bear, there are a lot of free and open public spaces for sledding and snow play. These include hiking trails, picnic areas, and parks.
    Just be sure that where you’re sledding is indeed a public space and not a private property. Avoid pulling off the side of the road to sled on a hill - it’s most likely private property. Also remember to not leave trash or broken sleds behind - take everything with you.
    The north side of the lake has sledding areas that are less crowded. But it also tends to have less snow because its facing the sun.
