Hiking Suicide Rock, San Jacinto Wilderness, Idyllwild, CA
Good legends often make for good hikes. With the legend of an Indian maiden jumping to her death from the high profile rock, there is a certain intrigue to go with the experience of being there. Undoubtedly, the views from the rock are quite expansive, not only deadly if leapt from. I included a visit to the Suicide Rock High Point, which is often a target of peak climbers looking to get credit for a visit here. Unfortunately, views from the summit are no where as nice as from the edge of the rock.
