It's so lovely to see (and hear) the difference between the two violin players, one obviously classically schooled, the other obviously taught the bluegrass way haha, both amazing in their own way.
Really enjoyable. Here you have a mix of young, middle age, and old, the very famous, the about to be famous and the upcoming Nashville talents. I can honestly say that each solo was studio quality. Absolutely GREAT job gang. Outstanding!
The more I listened to these versions, the more I realized that it was the same as the Fairport Convention tune. So fun to hear the different ways. Those ladies can really crank it out!
I love Sierra´s mandolin, Buddy´s great harmonica play and violin of that blonde. Anyway the circle music has good vibes / although one chair is free, hehe/
Wait, whaaat??!!?? Did Sierra say at 0:23 "I hope I don't crash?" Nah, couldn't have been. That's the fear that only mere mortals like myself feel as the solo comes around the circle headed for me and I feel like I'm playing with horse's hooves for hands.
The only thing that could have made it better is with more Carson. I love Ron’s guitar playing, and you can never have too make Sierra Hull. That harmonica playing was great too. I could go on and on. 🎶🎵❤️🪕🎻🎼
sitting in on a bluegrass jam this saturday for my buddy's birthday bash. I play bass in a celtic rock band, and these folks got us beat for the most uplifting music! Thanks for this jam, it's a great way for me to get the chords under my fingers and puts a smile on my face every pass around. And for some reason the video makes me feel like I'm right in the jam. Couldn't be better. I'll be coming back for more! :D
Ok who's the guy who disliked this!?!?!? Haha. We used to do this every Monday evening at J. Cody's BBQ in Bryan, Texas, SO FUN! And the three of us mandolin players would hang out on the front porch even after they closed the place down and everyone went home, and play 'till late. Ok so the guy whose break starts at 1:10 - he looks like Ron Block, or is that just me?
This is an all around good jam. I got excited seeing the harmonica. Bout messed my britches when he took a run. We need more harmonica in bluegrass! I’m a banjo player myself, but I recognize the mandolin queen and the two guitar studs, also. The harmonica just pushed it over the top along with that claw hammer banjo! Good stuff!
but is faster better, or is faster jst faster? i'am new to bluegrass and this seems more like a "Breakdown" than a "Shuffle?" i dont mean this in a negative way, i jst dont kno if i like this? i mean, ther r sooo many beautiful versions of this tune at a slower tempo that, to me, sound much prettier and much more emotive. i realize music is relative to the individual but is blugrass supose to be played as fast as u can? i wish i knew :(
Sierra Hull has the cleanest Bluegrass mandolin picking I've ever heard.
Yes!
CT
The harmonica is such an unexpected and brilliantly played part. Everyone is spectacular here.
It's grey, wet and windy here in London, but all I can hear is sunshine!
The ending was very slick. Oh to be that good. Anybody would like to be in that circle of musicians. Great job Russ.
Harmonica was unbelievable!
I love that Sierra did the Tony ending.
She nailed it too. I believe that's the first time I've heard it in its original form on a mandolin. It put a smile on my face

It’s nice to see Sierra’s mando neck shape and thickness from the angle.
My goodness! Buddy Greene smoked it on the harmonica. He is just that good. If you don't believe me. Just try to play that song, let alone that good 👍
Ya he suprised me ,not being familiar with him
Buddy Greene is a legend. One of the best harmonica players there is. His version of Orange Blossom Special is still one of the best.
I've been playing Cherokee Shuffle straight on an A harp, sounds to me like Buddy is playing cross harp on a D - think I'm gonna try that!😁

It is so awesome when you're around musicians playing like this in a circle.
"The finest" Nothing is as good as a "Blue Grass" string band..... Blue Grass forever.
Pops has some magic in that fiddle of his!!
I was just wondering recently what Sierra would do with this. I'm not disappointed.
The joy of being human
The more I listened to these versions, the more I realized that it was the same as the Fairport Convention tune. So fun to hear the different ways. Those ladies can really crank it out!
i want to go to the party barn..slight problem, have no idea where
And that's exactly how it should be done !. Class!
Now that’s real country music🎶. I love it!♥️♥️♥️
Sierra is maybe the only public person I’ve ever crushed on 😅
what a gig
I see Katie Dewhirst!! Holy cow! I grew up playing music with her and her family in Washington!
It's such a pleasant thing to hear so many musicians in one room who excell at their craft. Its such a beautiful thing to the ear.
I love Sierra´s mandolin, Buddy´s great harmonica play and violin of that blonde. Anyway the circle music has good vibes / although one chair is free, hehe/
Mighty fine! Props to all the musicians.
Man i wish i could sit around and play with them good job guys really!
One of my favorite songs! Been waiting for it to show up on this channel lol!
If anyone wants to know what America is about - - - THIS is what America is and what it has given the world. G-d bless America!! 🙏
Awesome picking! 👏👏👏
Wow, absolutely superb 👏 , what wonderful musicians ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I'm happy to tell you she says "built in percussion" just in case you were getting any funny ideas about the robustness of her immortality
Fun! Great group of musicians!
This video makes me grateful for life :)
Love me some 81 Crowe!

I agree with you Scott, but someone had run the camera!
@@81crowe I know a guy who would be more than happy to run the camera for you. ;) You should have pulled out the banjo cam.😂😂
Been learning to flatpick this song, it's really fun to play to
Again and again, I love that version. Thank you so much ❤❤

Can't get any better then that.

I am blown away.
I see an old friend in that awesome jam group- hi Bethany!
That’s good stuff there!
Real music! There is very little in Nashville today that can even be compared to this.
Big circle of great sounding musicians & I wish they'd all show up in my town ! (At my house)
❤that’s just to much fun. Love it!
Great music!! Glad to see Russ's Bethany, she's a doll!!
Love Ms Bethany glad to see her picking some :-)
Great tune, well played and great finish.

It is Ron, he hosted this jam at his party barn!
@@81crowe Oh awesome!
Mighty fine!
Awesomeness!
Wow!
Ahhh, that was good!
What a treat ✨🙏✨
First class..!! 👍
Great music. Really great music but what is the deal with the mg or Austin Healy in the barn? Love to have it.
Excellent
I always get confused with Lost Indian.
Who played that blazing closing guitar break?
What a joy!
I find myself keep coming back here to listen. That's the way that song should be played!
The setting looks perfect,
Great job
I need to learn the lick Sierra closed this with
Great sound by all! Could you tell me what brand and model is the mandolin? NH
81 Crowe
Musicians.
Juist one word…WoW
Harp ❤️
Yeah
Russ,
It is impossible for me to thank you enough for posting this video. You do not know what you have added to my life.
Maggie is so fine...
What guitar is that first bloke playing? sounds huge when it comes in!
Which player is Cody?.....with the hat?
Cody was the first guitar player at the beginning!
👍👍🎵🎼

Where is the party barn located?

Oh heck that's not fast. They're just gambling along. You want example of fast ? Try Tall Oines or Roanoke...now those are fast.
And an Austin Healey Sprite!
Great eye Don! It’s a 1966 that I helped Ron pull out of a shed here in town.
I love white people.
