I have had a bald cypress bonsai for years that I haven’t really done anything to. This gives me a good idea for how to style it. BTW these trees do great in full sun in Arizona so long as you water it generously every day. One of the few plants that can survive full summer sun here.

That was a great transformation for the bark color. I like the vessel or inverted triangle shape you gave it with the styling. It's something you don't usually see in bald cypress bonsai but it's closer to how the tree looks in nature, especially younger trees. I'm really looking forward to see how this one will change over the next styling sessions. Cheers!

Jerome, I am a new subscriber and I love the content. Have you ever thought of doing a video on fukien tea trees? Not just basic care information but also pruning techniques? Thanks!

I’m doing my first styling to my bald cypress it’s a slender tall tree with just branches at the top. I’m going for flat top design. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. 👍👍🇵🇷

Please please please do a video on trunk chopping (drastic pruning) for raw stock. Initial stages of creating taper. How to do it how much to leave for die back (for trees that are prone to die back) and also chopping and not leaving a tub above the branch. What angle, carving the stub and sealing. I'm so very lost

hi jerome. great video as always. as you recommended,i just bought pine bark for my bonsai mix and my question for you is how long those pine bark can be in the soil untill they completley break apart? with inorganic soil i know u can keep years without reppoting..with the pine bark it is still like that?
lots of love and have a great day :)

Just wondering if you could have airlayered the top of the tree to make another tree is there a reason why not, it is a great tree which we could not hope to get in the UK. Love your approach to bonsai.

Hey Joe! I could have absolutely air layered the top but it wasn’t interesting to me so I choose not to. 😂
