White teacher here. One of my favorite conferences was when I was meeting with a black mother to discuss her son who was the sweetest student ever and super bright. As such,he was very funny and was very popular with peers. I made a passing comment that sometimes he talks in class or acts silly but I wasn’t concerned because he was performing well in class. That’s when his mom said “oh no I’m gonna stop you there. He BEST be listening and showing you respect at ALL times. None of these excuses that he has good grades. He needs to RESPECT you… and if he doesn’t you call me or get Ms. (Other teacher on my team who is a black woman) because these boys don’t always remember to respect you white ladies talking all soft and nice to them because what they are used to and need a strong black woman to give it to them. “ I loved her candor. We both had a good laugh over our differences in approaches and view of the situation. I learned so much about how black women raise their sons and the burden on them to ensure their sons grow up to be smart and safe and respectful. I’ve never forgotten her. It’s still my most memorable conference and collaboration with a parent. I really admire the parenting approach and wish I had that with my own children. I also remember now to set the standards a little higher so that a student can be the best they can be. (PS I was hesitant to post this because I feel like I can’t write this story well without sounding like I have implicit bias or ignorance regarding race. Please forgive any unintentional statements that may be such. I am still striving to learn every day. I also welcome informative conversation to improve my efforts to be respectful and to be responsible for the words I say and how they impact people.)
Jay, you are without a doubt one of the most talented, versatile, insightful, and hilarious actors I’ve ever seen. Perfection in facial expressions, and every single move you make! How are we so blessed to have you bringing us so much brilliance?…
Now that I’m grown, I get that. I didn’t when I was a kid, and if I could do my life over again, I would’ve been a kid that reflected how well my parents tried with me. Kids should always remember that, although it is difficult when you’re a kid to think beyond yourself
I just Lovee how the teachers always say a positive thing about you to your parents to soften a blow😭😂! I love how they say a positive thing before saying all of the negatives😂!
I'm an adult, and I am just now being told about my elementary teacher parent one. Apparently, the teacher said none of my classmates liked me, and she had witnessed them treating me terribly. In the classroom, she never corrected their behavior, though. I was new to the school, and everyone had clicks or their own group.
In many cases it’s just the truth, not just a thing you say to “soften the blow”. It’s actually infuriating when a kid is bright but lacks discipline so they end up not performing well. Sadly, most parents blame the teachers though.
The sad thing is you usually get outright denial & pure rage if you tactfully describe their little angel's poor attitude & poor grades. And for all those parents who think they've successfully papered over the mahoosive cracks in their marriage for the purpose of a 30min teacher conference: you haven't. The sniping & leakage are all too recognisable. Come alone & report back to your spouse, for all our sakes.
I was that teacher and loved my students. After many years I learned to accept them as they were and improve my teaching to better serve them. I’d like to do it all over again. ❤
As a former teacher, we have all had Javon in our class. He is a free spirit who will likely need to get to community college and flourish and find interest as a fledgling video game developer, artist, or in the always strange twist, successful sales dude at 27. Javon is ALWAYS a sleeper.
The difference for self is my 2 kids know i will go set in class with them and raise their hand for every question and it best be right and they hit the books like a cherokee drum on pow wow night. Iv even when in to the school to check on them to make sure they are doing their best. Every day I tell them learn something practice what you learn and enjoy momma loves you.
Excellent editing. It almost really feels like there is actually three different people in this video. If you would listen to this with your eyes closed you’d really think there were three people having this conversation.
As my mom used to say, Javon, you better do the extra credit assignment or " You better give your soul to God, because your ass belongs to me!" He doesn't get that grade up, momma is gonna be all over him like ants at a picnic!
Teachers like this are the best man, I had one math teacher who would give extra classes after school without asking for money. People rarely showed up but he continued. I wish him only the best of the best things in life.
I called a father ( black) about his 8th grade son’s behavior in my classroom . Having taught his other son he knew and respected me. This father asked me what time my class was ,that he would be coming in the next day. Without informing his son, that father, walked into the classroom and sat down. His son, a football player, and the other team players that were in that class. Their eyes went wide, they sat up straight, not a sound did they make , wondering what’s going on as I kept teaching. Needless to say, that strong ,confident father , made an impression on not only his son but his “ team” as well. There was never another issue. That son grew into a terrific leader in football and more important academically and in life. Never underestimate the power of a good father.
❤This is so right on ! I had a son who apparently was a class clown as well! I was amazed because he wasn’t at all like that at home. When the teacher told me that I couldn’t believe it…..smh❤
Why is EVERYTHING believable here? Three totally different people; each of their reactions; the hairstyles😂 and most of all i just noticed after watching the 2nd time, there is a full kitchen behind Javon. My brain was in the teacher's classroom. The best!!
As a black middle school teacher (and also a mom of a schoolager), this is on point! These kids are something else! They’re quick to call an adult a liar. What exactly do I gain from lying about you? And grades don’t lie. Those unsubmitted assignments don’t lie. Your momma and I are gonna go in on you for that…
That mom is literally me. That boy is an exact replica of my 3 preteen sons and I have had this exact meeting with this same teacher many times. How did you nail this so perfectly??? Thanks for making me feel seen 😂
As a retired teacher, I've been many meetings like this. They make lots of promises that never come to fruition. Or they never show up for the meeting. It's not only one race either.
Honestly, I wish I had a teacher like this. Because this one actually made an effort to reach out to the students that needed help. I remember struggling in school and having no clue what questions to even ask.
True that. The kids who need it the most have parents who don't show up. So ... hm ... the kids don't show up for their own education. Connect the dots.
Yes this is always a shame. I think sometimes it's because they're low-income have to work but if they're just there because they don't care then that sends a terrible message to the child. If parents didn't want children they never should have had them , should have had an abortion, or should have given them up for adoption. Alternatively they might care but they might be traumatized and stuck on drugs so that's another unfortunate situation. Either way at that point CPS needs to get involved. Not that I trust to CPS most of the time but sometimes they are necessary.
Deja vu. Story of my life. And not only did I get the whooping but my dad told the teacher, "if he gets out of line, smack him." I later not only graduated HS a year early but also got a bachelor's degree. I was quite smart however not really challenged enough. College challenged me and I worked 3 jobs and went to school full time. Paid for it without any loans. I don't think that is even possible anymore.
Its getting much much harder but I'm sure in some cases yes. Shouldn't even be like this. ALL students who want a higher education deserve one regardless of ability to pay. This can easily be achieved by mandating tuition limits, more FA from each public institution and more subsidies from the federal govt and the states. Otherwise the current bogus situation will just get worse, which is pretty fng sad.
@@Krill_all_health_insuranceCEOs Sounds like a good policy - except there are not enough jobs for today's college graduates. Way too many are taking on great debt only to find themselves doing a poorly paid job. (Of course, some with the right mixture of talent, drive, and luck, do succeed; but if you have 2 million people for 1 million jobs, that can't be everybody). It's called "elite overproduction". And AI is going to make it worse. I don't have an answer for the society as a whole. I would like to have better news, because I really applaud initiative, like trying to get an education. I think some degree of risk is "just life" - there has never been a guarantee of success. But I feel sorry for the people who have taken on debt and cannot get a good job.
Mrs. Jones is my favorite of your characters. She's the old-school mom, like the moms to my generation of 80s and 90s kids. The responsible, hardworking, no-nonsense mom who is proud of her son when he does well but makes him take responsibility for his actions when he does wrong. My favorite Mrs. Jones video is still the one where Javon misses the bus, though. I love how firm she is when she reprimands him, but then she gets out of bed and takes him to school like a good, attentive mom and even is kind enough to tell him they're getting breakfast at McDonalds on the way. So sweet, she's a good mom.
The accuracy😂 My son's teacher is my sidekick! He knows WE don't play, WE are in sync always. He'll try to play dumb sometimes but no sir lol. He's in 2nd grade gifted plus has ADHD which is a struggle. So I am always prepping him for his test, working on projects and going over classroom work, throw in behavior therapy! Kids excel when parents don't make excuses and work with the teachers. He adores his teacher too and I'm forever grateful to all teachers, God bless ya'll for real cuz those kids are trifling😅
"She lying." I'm a teacher and I have had so many kids tell their parents that line. Hahahaha

I didn't see anything negative in anything that you posted. Good post. Informative and entertaining.
Don't ever apologize for speaking the TRUTH.
Good to know that you're trying. Not enough of us ever try to understand or respect each other anymore.
Beautiful story, thanks for sharing!
Omg the virtue signalling and bum lickery is strong with you.....🤢
As a 63 year old white gramma and mom and your channel always cracks me up!
"Oh my lord, Jevon, oh you making a fool outta me" - I felt that 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I heard it as I read ur comment 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
When teacher said he was missing 7 homework, mama had to clutch dem pearls HARD! 😂😂😂😂
I'm screaming...."Do you think I should whoop his ass?" "YES!"😂😂😂😂😂
I think Ms. Williams is also a mom 😉
Jay, you are without a doubt one of the most talented, versatile, insightful, and hilarious actors I’ve ever seen. Perfection in facial expressions, and every single move you make! How are we so blessed to have you bringing us so much brilliance?…
This man is talented. He’s got all three roles down perfectly
I was genuinely confused for a second bc there was just two women and a kid in this 😂 😂 😂
Ok he is such a good actor! Like I don’t even realize he is actually every character! I don’t even see the beard! So talented!
So true, its like 'what beard??'
And the ring 😂
@@jenniferjanousek5261The nails!!!!

I was TRANSPORTED by his performance. I was having flashbacks and I have never been a young misbehaving black boy lmao
“Oh my lord Javon, you making a fool out of me” 😂 is so freaking accurate. Like your behavior is a reflection of my parenting lol
Now that I’m grown, I get that. I didn’t when I was a kid, and if I could do my life over again, I would’ve been a kid that reflected how well my parents tried with me.
Kids should always remember that, although it is difficult when you’re a kid to think beyond yourself
I can totally relate to that feeling. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Tyler Perry needs this guy in his next movie, you are great man!
"What the hell you mean, class clown?" For some reason that line made me spit out my coffee.
Me too! So funny
It was that flipped curl on the side of her head moving when she said it 😅
Obviously old term. Don't know why it's not used today...
Javon mama standin on BUSINESS!!!! 😂😂😂😂 And Javon has a BEAUTIFUL singing voice 🤩
Its a part of teacher training 😂😂
The way he leaned back after the talkative line at 1:31 🤣🤣🤣
As a retired teacher, I am loving this. Memories!
As a former teacher, we have all had Javon in our class. He is a free spirit who will likely need to get to community college and flourish and find interest as a fledgling video game developer, artist, or in the always strange twist, successful sales dude at 27. Javon is ALWAYS a sleeper.
These the days I hoped my parent was busy, forgot or sick…🤦🏽♀️😭
Heavy on the being busy
Mine did forget.....they called and had all my teachers dragged in to talk to her.
Talk about embarassing🤡
YUPPPPPP
Dam what do u do at school
The difference for self is my 2 kids know i will go set in class with them and raise their hand for every question and it best be right and they hit the books like a cherokee drum on pow wow night. Iv even when in to the school to check on them to make sure they are doing their best. Every day I tell them learn something practice what you learn and enjoy momma loves you.
Lord Jesus, as a teacher, I wished I had parents like this! Thank you, Ms. Jones for showing these parents how it's supposed to be!
I love Mrs. Jones. She is a real mom. The teacher has proved herself for been very caring by offering tutoring a while.
I used to be like Javon... I remember doing the packet and everything... How did I survive?
Barely
Excellent editing. It almost really feels like there is actually three different people in this video. If you would listen to this with your eyes closed you’d really think there were three people having this conversation.
That “oh?🤨” after the teacher tells yo mamma what u been doin is so scary bro
Please finish that extra credit packet Javon!!! Do it for all of us , for the love of God please!!!😂😂😂 P.S. (Thanks for all the likes!!!!)
Yes please! Your mama terrifies me. 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Yes, thank you Javon for helping us all get caught up! 7 missing assignments.. you can get us all caught up over spring break .. good luck , Javon
As my mom used to say, Javon, you better do the extra credit assignment or " You better give your soul to God, because your ass belongs to me!" He doesn't get that grade up, momma is gonna be all over him like ants at a picnic!
@@mariahillenbrand8396 hahahahaha 😆 🤣 😂
"going to make me miss my show" 😂😂😂
I was like that once when there was parent teacher conferences on a Grey's Anatomy night lmao.
This guy effectively becomes a mother, teacher, and child with ONLY the use of wigs and costume, no make up or filters. Just AMAZING talent. Bravo🌹💐🥀
I think I speak for all my fellow English people when I say that Mrs Jones’ accent is our absolute FAVOURITE IN THE WORLD!!!
I can not believe it's the same person playing ALL the roles, and this dude still cheats my eyes and ears everytime!
“Mama she lying” I cannot 😭😭
😂😂😂😂
Omg I felt the tension! What an actor!
Right!!! 😂. We had to say “story” 😂😂
You are amazing!!! what a talent and to make people cry with laughter! Thank you. UK
Quinta needs to discover this man for Abbot Elementary! Such talent and classroom knowledge.
That would be hilarious !
Teachers like this are the best man, I had one math teacher who would give extra classes after school without asking for money. People rarely showed up but he continued. I wish him only the best of the best things in life.
This skit was an A+🙌🏽
I called a father ( black) about his 8th grade son’s behavior in my classroom .
“I oin know” is the universal answer!! 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Not asking Ms. Williams to cosign the punishment 😂
😂😂😂😂
That got me!!! 😂😂😂😂
You know Javon was giving her grief because she didn’t even hesitate about the whoopin
He was getting that ass whooping either way!😂
This was funny, and in the head…. especially with the fridge in the background!!😂
❤This is so right on ! I had a son who apparently was a class clown as well! I was amazed because he wasn’t at all like that at home. When the teacher told me that I couldn’t believe it…..smh❤
I had one of those, too. He's grown now. Still, I'm smiling, remembering. ❤
Lol. That's funny. He saved his clown act for his classmates I guess lol.
This was just perfect. We need more parents like Javon's Mom.
Oh my god. These characters are ON POINT!!!!!!
Why is EVERYTHING believable here? Three totally different people; each of their reactions; the hairstyles😂 and most of all i just noticed after watching the 2nd time, there is a full kitchen behind Javon. My brain was in the teacher's classroom. The best!!
We need more of these beautiful moms and teachers bringing our children up to standard!
“I got a printer at home” 😂😂😂😂
Javon be wearing a wedding ring 💍 🤣 😂
And a manicure!! 😅
Yeah he forgot to take that off in between switching characters. 😂
And mom has a beard😢
As a black middle school teacher (and also a mom of a schoolager), this is on point! These kids are something else! They’re quick to call an adult a liar. What exactly do I gain from lying about you? And grades don’t lie. Those unsubmitted assignments don’t lie. Your momma and I are gonna go in on you for that…
That mom is literally me. That boy is an exact replica of my 3 preteen sons and I have had this exact meeting with this same teacher many times. How did you nail this so perfectly??? Thanks for making me feel seen 😂
Why did my heart drop when Jovan's teacher said he wasn't coming to the lunch tutoring 😂 I thought... oh shhhhi😂
As a 27 year veteran teacher at a Junior High School, I can agree completely with this! Love this “Mom.”
As a retired teacher, I've been many meetings like this. They make lots of promises that never come to fruition. Or they never show up for the meeting. It's not only one race either.
That’s true 🫶🏽
Honestly, I wish I had a teacher like this. Because this one actually made an effort to reach out to the students that needed help. I remember struggling in school and having no clue what questions to even ask.
The extra credit packet ❤
This was my parent teacher meetings with my oldest son ….today he’s a teacher…..Jesus answers Prayers. John 3:16 🇺🇸🙏🎚

You are a very talented character actor. However I did get a little distracted by that gorgeous wedding ring.💍😊

Aww, when did they wed? 😊 I had to go back and check, and I agree yes the bling be blinging!
The accuracy! 😂😂😂
Realistically, parents have to show up to parent/teacher conferences first. That doesn’t happen often.
You are good. SNL should take you on!
He's too good for SNL.
AGREE 💯 ‼️‼️‼️‼️

It is. I graduated in 2021 without any debt. It’s not easy but I managed to get it done
@@paulasantos1590teach us your ways pls 🙏
Its getting much much harder but I'm sure in some cases yes.
Shouldn't even be like this. ALL students who want a higher education deserve one regardless of ability to pay. This can easily be achieved by mandating tuition limits, more FA from each public institution and more subsidies from the federal govt and the states. Otherwise the current bogus situation will just get worse, which is pretty fng sad.
Well done you! And well done your parents for Parenting you!
@@Krill_all_health_insuranceCEOs
Sounds like a good policy - except there are not enough jobs for today's college graduates.
As an educator, I love this! Beautifully and masterfully portrayed.
You are so great with the subtlety of the different voices.
As a former middle school teacher…this is accurate! 😂😂😂
Jevon, you are brilliant !
I'm a teacher and I LOVE parents like you! I'm there for the kids, and some parents seem to care less than I do about their own kid.
why the fvck is this SO well done it's giving me nostalgia????? my god he's such a great actorrrrrrrrrr
The teacher saying he needs a butt whooping is out of control!!!😂😂😂😂
This would be a DREAM parent teacher conference for me! Parents on top of it are the best!
Please give Jay his own show on Netflix!! Best you tuber ever!
