What was the resistor for? I heard the alternator need one is that only one u used it for and have a link ?

you can use this with the bulb, it has the resistance needed. the original dash has a resistor attached to it for the Alt exciter wire so that is why you need it

@@98darkhorse so I won't need resistor if I wire this bulb ? Also I wanted to ask my car is an 02 the ect sensor is a 2 wire plug how do I connect it to my one wire sensor they sent me it doesn't have 2 sensors like pre 99

@@MustangFourSix correct, this will become the resistor, the 2 wire is one is ground and one is positive. being the ECU uses it, I would run a new wire for the dash. I have 1 sensor for my Autometer 1 sensor for my ECU and this adapter for the dash www.amazon.com/dp/B00860GIWU?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

also the one wire uses the mounting surface for the sensor
for its ground.
