Hi Paul, your impression is spot on for old batch Tanchjim Oxygen. new batch sounds more vshape bigger sub bass IMO anyway new Moondrop KATO officially replacing my old Oxygen🤙
I haven't heard about a silent revision for the Oxygen. Where did you hear this? And when did they do the revision? I got mine 2021 and they have sub-bass but not too much. Nothing compared to the Mele, which is a warm set.
Same, I will have to keep an eye out. I know a few folks who have purchased one in 2020 and some in 2021. Would love to see a graph of these. Thank you
I hv got a reviewer set back in 2019 unit and they do not sound V shaped at all. And thought other reviewers were spot on reviewing this up till now 2021/2022
Great review As always......short sweet no bs. As for the Oxygen its a Beast.....the tuning is spot on, balanced throughtout. It's got detail retrieval , soundstage, imaging, tonality and timbre that is as you said good all the way through. I found that you discover it's qualities when you compare to other DD.....Kato..... Autumn....Vento conductor.....Aurora....Hana 202, Jasper. It suprises me every single time. Just recently got the Jasper and yes Jasper is good but the Oxygen is on another level. Theres a magic that only single DDS have, some more some less......Oxygen has that zing that makes it truly special. I have yet to get my hands on a single DD that beats it. ....have my doubts the Isabellae or Dark Magic can do it..... especially when the Illumination wasn't able too.
Thanks Tony. And we talked about Oxygen a while back, another person who vouched for Oxygen. Yes, it is a beast and we will see how well it does in 2022. Thank you and Happy New Year
Hmmm... so Oxygen for $99 in the Olina... worth considering as a complement to Mele and Timeless. Actually no, I'd go for Hana 2021 b/c I really do require a bass emphasis.
Right, comparing those sets, do consider the bass levels for your library. Just because I like Oxygen and it works for my library, that still needs to translate to your preferences.
@@PaulWasabii of course. I can’t stand falsity and dishonesty. That guy doesn’t even know what hifi is and still is doing hifi gear reviews. And what came last has always something more. These are in my radar of wants but I've been busy buying other sets like some Thieaudio Legacy 4s I found at a great price. I've heard nothing but good things about the Oxygen. I really want the black one but it seems pretty much impossible to find nowadays.
@@PaulWasabii I will admit etymotic tips and accessories are not great Because I definitely notice you like cables. And finding third party cable for them is not easy
Oh nice I was looking up these just seconds ago, lol That's interesting, about the bass, these seem to be less bassy than I thought they would be. Still interested, these are my favorite iem in terms of looks. I really like their look, wish they did that with the hana too, instead of going the 'bling' route
Right, the bass level is something to reconcile with what you are looking for in level. They obviously tried to provide enough but keep the quality high
someone recently compared these and the hana 2021. they are basically the same sets. makes me wonder if we'll see a lower priced single dd tanchim later this year similar to what moondrop did
the same? Have you seen the graphs? Hana 2021 is 2-3db more bass from 20-60Hz, and 1-2 Db more bass from 70 - 120Hz, so really Hana 2021 is only half the same as Oxygen. That extra base completely changes everything, including the perception of mids and highs even if mids and highs graph identically.
@Larry Dunn I was looking at that earlier. Crinacle's graph shows more of a difference than others which is where the "same" originates. No doubt they are similar but I don't know how close.
No, mainly due to the slight revisions that have happened with Oxygen. If you want to get closer to Oxygen with your SE, pull back the damper and remove the foam. The two sets are too close now to realistically own both.
I have them all: OH10, Kato, Timeless, Tea, Dusk and I have to agree that the Oxygen is probably the best set under 500$.
Even Kato? That is the one I am most curious in your list. Thank you
wow, Timeless too? I thought of wanting to demo timeless but thanks. I will keep my Oxygen for longer then
I’d go with all of those over a single $1000 iem any day

@@Wingedmagician do you really believe you said something somewhat intelligent?
Nice review 😊. Your reviews are detailed and more precise than reviews on some other bigger channels
Trying. Oxygen is a great set but just need to reconcile the bass level with your needs and keep that gain area in mind if you fatigue easily.
the O2 is great! ✌😎👍

Thank you sir
You’re at IKKO OH10’s and KATO at that price range…but an interesting IEM’s tho👍
Yep, Kato is the interesting one for me.

Yeah oxygen sounds pretty much like the hd600, except it has slightly more bass and warmer/thicker mid. Can be a reference iem.
Right, the original Oxygen was closer to reference style. It changed a tiny bit over time and some sets are more boosted than the early sets.

How does oxygen compare to darling? Need some opinions on this
I never head Darling and that is one of the rarer ones to find people who have heard both.
Is this better than orchestra lite or aful performer 5?
That was a killer review Paul. I did enjoy watching it. I think most folks should just try a pair before buying 10x cheaper sets.
Thank you and much love brother

Is still relevan right now?
Relevant but there have been so many slight variations that it is almost safer to buy the Tripowin Olina SE.
What brand is that replacement cable?
That is a custom twisted version of NiceHCK Black Jelly
I bought my Oxygen and have tried every tip made and they simply fall out of my ears.....The nozzle is simply too short......
I cannot deny the fit is whack.
Yes it did with some tips in my case. But it resolves with Azla Xelastec. No issue at all since then
Will you review Moondrop Kato?
Probably not unless I get a loaner. RikudouGoku just got his hands on it so should have a review soon
