    "This one's giving me some trouble." One of the best compliments a lock maker can get from a picker.

    i ain't got no tools but i got so into this i started coming up to random locks and just presure the lock with my fingers looking if number one is gonna bind or not. this alone gives me so much joy i consider buying a set and learning how to do it for real

    Great picking my friend👍👍👍🍻🔓😘
    I'm kind of glad you picked it before me as I would not have done the lock justice in the gutting and explanation.
    At least it wasn't full of standard drivers 😂😂🔐
    Great job thanks again for sharing😘😘😘

      +Pick Beard Thanks, and thanks for the locks! BTW, do you know what model the yale euro profile cylinder is? Also, be sure to PM me your address... I'll get something out to you next time I put packages together. Thanks!

    Lovely and smooth from start to finish. You always make it look so easy, great job. I' ve seen the initial vid from potty, and followed the thread on UK-Locksport. Outstanding Picking.

      +dirk Thank you. This was a great little lock, and I'm thankful that Potti sent it out. We all got lucky insofar as Potti has improved greatly since he made that video... had he come across this lock more recently, I'm sure he would have slain it and we never would have had the opportunity for all of this fun!

    Yale euro profile is part of a master suite, looks like an NA profile. 15 profiles on each section. Good picking as always.

    Hi Harry, Interesting lock and keyway, apparently these locks have given other pickers some head aches. Well done on seemingly an easy pick ... which it would not be, you just make it look that way! Excellent description on the traps - and trap pin. Just a question ... I have occasionally used an additional tension wrench as a support for my pick, but never to "protect" the inner housing. Is this just a courtesy thing? Regards, Brian.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 років тому +5

      +Brian Hignett Thanks Brain. As for the metal I put in the bottom of the keyway, you hit the nail on the head. I think we have discussed that I prefer heavier tension. This means more picking pressure, which in turn puts massive pressure on the pick's pivot point (usually the bottom of the keyway or some low bit of warding). If I'm having trouble with a lock and I spend a great deal of time on it, it's not uncommon for me to dig a groove in the lock with my pick, particularly when I'm using a thinner (.015") pick. The bottom of this lock's keyway was already pretty chewed up from the 6+ pickers who tried this lock before me over the course of that last year, so rather than make the problem worse, I put a bit of metal in the bottom. I figured that since this was a pass around lock (see the links in the video description) I'd preserve it for future pickers. I also do this when I need to return a lock to it's owner (like video 125), so I don't damage property that was graciously lent to me.

      +LockPickingLawyer Brain ? You flatter me !! (:-)) Thanks for your reply Harry, I thought that must be the reason. Regards, Brian.

    Thats a pretty cool package 😄 soecially that cool pin. Never seen one like that before

  • @alex0236
    @alex0236 6 років тому +1

    that pin is a "False Key" security - if you try to use a blank key that fits the keyway but doesnt have the IKON wings it will trap the false key inside and makes itself unuseable

      +Lukes Locks Thank you. If you are interested, I just set up a trap pin playlist on my channel... I think this is my 5th video with trap pins, so I figured it was about time to organize them.

    pin 5 is a ASSA 600 pin they come in 4 sizes. I have some of all 4 sizes. I have a lock pinned up with those going out to Texas Jim soon. It will make it too you sooner or later.

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 років тому

      +JB I'm pretty familiar with the ASSA pins. This looks similar, but I don't think it is one. The ASSA has a ledge on each end. The ends of #5 are tapered, like the back of a mushroom pin.

    • @Johnyrocket70
      @Johnyrocket70 8 років тому

      +LockPickingLawyer I seen that flat, I think it was born from the assa model which don't have them. I will go look at 4 sacks of those pins to see of they have a flat part

    • @Johnyrocket70
      @Johnyrocket70 8 років тому

      +LockPickingLawyer I see what you mean, they almost look identical too assa size B drivers. that one end was designed for that lock specific trap.
      I like assa pins not only for a security feature but it's steel anti drill protection as well.
