    Oh my... I've never been here so early before! They have Mul-T-Locks or similar where I used to work, with magnets & everything... Always fun to see that even they can be defeated with practice.

    This is number 6 from the Multipick kit. It's not the flat one, it's the quantum one, that exists not quite as a particle, nor quite as a wave.

    That Multi-T-Lock looked like quite a challenge.
    Is that an understatement?
    Great picking there by BisnianBill as he ejects a lock from his Naughty Bucket.

    Are there a lot of locks 8n the naughty bucket that you're starting to be able to pick as you learn how they are meant to be picked? I ask this cause I've noticed you've done a lot of multi locks here lately and your starting to get through some of your naughty bucket locks. Also how many locks would you guess are in the bucket?

    • @Bobis32

    I'm a little disappointed that Bill didn't show how the inner/outer pin mechanism works. I'm guessing that the driver pins have captive, spring-loaded inner pins, but that was not at all clear from the gutting.

    It almost seems like the Junior took
    you longer than the Interactive did,
    a while back. Which makes absolutely
    no sense.
    I'm glad you did this video. I installed a
    Junior on my door about a year ago when
    I replaced the mortise set. I didn't know it
    was that secure, all the locksmiths I talked
    to about it just disparaged it. Your video
    gave me a lot of comfort, seeing how
    much trouble you had picking it.
    The good thing about the Junior is that
    key duplicates are only $5 and don't
    require a registered ID, while if you need
    to get extra keys for the Interactive, it's
    $25 and they need you to provide the
    ID card that goes with the lock.
    Your Mult T Lock Interactive video
    linked here:
    ua-cam.com/video/BDTglXSbzT0/v-deo.html
    Mult T Lock Junior: 5:50 to pick;
    Mult T Lock Interactive: 2:44 to pick.
    I was right, it took almost twice the
    time to pick the Junior, in this video.
    Thanks for the great content. בס״ד

    I can't work out the difference between Mul-T-Lock Junior and Mul-T-Lock Classic. They're both 5 position pin-in-pin locks.

  • @MerkDolf
    @MerkDolf 4 роки тому

    Bill do you think working on the multi-t-locks have helped improve your skills with other locks or is it the work on many other locks that have helped you improve with the multi-t locks? Or do they really cross over much?

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  4 роки тому +1

      I think you need to develop good "feel" for manipulating pins in a normal pin tumbler first. Then you'll need to learn how to pick dimple locks, using a completely different set of tools. Then you simply combine those two skills and move to the Mul-t-locks for a new, "enhanced" challenge. Note to self: be prepared to cuss a lot...😜

    • @MerkDolf
      @MerkDolf 4 роки тому

      Thank you Bill, for the tip I was leaning towards, the feel!
      Ha, Ha, cuss a lot, I also threaten what I'm working with if it doesn't cooperate I will have to use a hammer.

    What’s the difference in feel between the inner pin and the outer pin? How do you know which part the pick is touching?I’ve never tried to pick a multi lock and have no idea so have little idea how to approach the challenge.

    Can you explain these "false sets" to us newbies and why was pin 2 on this one acting up so much when pins 3 and 4 were the same spool pins?

    • @ianbritstone3717
      @ianbritstone3717 4 роки тому +2

      the false sets occur when the anti-picking devices in the lock come into play. In this lock there are two of these devices. 1. The pin in pin, this gave the deepest false set. 2. The spool pins, these gave the least false set. They work due to the fact that the shear line on the stack of pins is compromised with a thinner pin, but it wont go all the way as it isn't picked. The spool is identified by the cylinder reversing. As to why pin 2 in this case acted as the gate keeper, who knows. Its down to the very fine tolerances of the lock.

      @@ianbritstone3717 - Thanks, but still confused. Is there an animation somewhere that explains this? Or how about a lock made entirely out of something clear, like lexan or plexiglass, where we could see the pins and wafers while being picked?
