Beautiful aquarium, I can see where George is coming from, I keep Australian natives and my channel evolves around it, but I love my Angels and Discus as they were some of my first pride and joys in the hobby so I will always want to have at least one setup with them in my house, I even have a soft spot for Swordtails and Guppies because I used to catch them as a kid, so I always got some around 🙂
What a beautiful aquarium setup! And… for what it’s worth, I’m in love with the blue angels! I’ve never seen those before. I may be partial to angels in much the same way having had them early on in my fish keeping decades ago.
Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago! OMG, I impulsively bought two juvenile angels and put them "temporarily" into one of my planted nano fish.tanks.
Hi, greetings from Germany. Angelfish tend to suffer postural damage to their fins very quickly. Over here, even the traders - who only keep fish temporarily - have switched to a tank height of 60 cm. So you'd better move them quickly, George 😉 One more thing: they should be kept in groups of at least 6, preferably 8 ore more animals. Pterophyllum Scalare live in strict hierarchy and the group size ensures that the aggression is better distributed. With 2 specimens you usually see that one hunts the other all the time. Very Nice Ember Tank btw😀
I agree the fins deformation might be an issue later. I keep a group of Angels and their front fins are slightly crooked since I got them about 2 years ago. I mean it's just those two fins, not all 10 fish and they were healthy otherwise, but they were rather large already, about twice as tall as the Angels in the video. The breeder probably didn't sell them in time. As the aggression goes, I guess that's something to keep an eye on. It's a pair, but sometimes they have their spats. I also keep a pair of Ramirezi cichlids in the same tank and sometimes the female just needs to hide away from the male. I'm not sure how that translates to Angels (it's like comparing Paradise Fish and Dwarf Gourami), but I can see possible issue.

Love the blue angels and everything else too! Great setup!
Great update video guys, I love this tank and the dense helanthium bolivianum is perfect!
Thanks Alex!

It happens!
Angels, also the first fish I kept, and they spawned, back in the 80's.
I was still in primary school.
I like the blue angels in contrast with the ember tetras. Complimentary colours as you said .
Interesting biotope tank and I also like the background choice!
thank you!
Great chat! Thanks for sharing!
looking forward to you building a western ghats biotope.
I did one for my aquatic habitats book with Zebra danios :D
Looks great mate 👍
A long stemmed echinodorus would look good at the back on the right, especially when the leaves grow out of the water.
The simplicity.
