Being a beginner, all i was hoping, while searching the guitar lesson for this song on UA-cam, is that i should find a lesson on this channel. i feel like commenting this on every video, thankyou for teaching guitar man❤️
That two downstrokes an an up is just the fine little details that you put in all your videos not to mention the finger positions. So good at what you do…so thankful ..Carl you are the best at what you do. 🎸
My own personal opinion for people to try. In the intro - when Carl suggest up picking the 3rd note on the D string, also try doing a pull off instead. Ive found - that at least for me - it is easier to continue & keep the rhythm, and it also doesn’t sacrifice any tonal consistencies. Playing that way helped me a lot when I was first learning the song. Experiment! Good luck!
I pull off on both notes (unless it’s at the end of the riff) Idk If it’s a skill issue or a sound difference, but the non pull of versions have this weird hollow sound between the D string notes that just don’t sound like the song.
Anyone watching this in 2023 after cm punk returned to WWE at survivor series and wanting to learn the riff because you’re a wrestling fan but also a guitarist, like me?🤣🤣🤣
Awesome, just what I was looking for. Any chance you could do a quick video on the solo? Not note for note or anything, but just some of the techniques to make it sound like that. It's almost like organized chaos.
Hey Man !! You Play It The Same way I do !! Or I Play It the Same Way You Do !! - Either Way, ALL the Other Instructors, & Vernon Reid Himself Play It Different !!! Seriously, They Way they do is Much More Difficult !! This Way or " OUR WAY " Makes More Sense & is Easier !! So Glad I Checked You Out !! GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE !!
Yes! This is right. Every tab I've seen of this has you playing the D on the fifth fret of the A string. Its very awkward and you cannot make the notes ring out properly. I was trying to realize a way to play it and I just could not see it. Duh...
charles brown - both solos for cult of personality. There is a small one in the middle of the song then a really big one at the end of the song. I have been struggling with them. I learn them from watching the videos, not the tabs. There is a bunch of tabs out there but not much video instruction stuff on the solos. I need slowed down videos.
Len Davis easy just pick as fast as u can and finger random notes, the farther out of key the better u will nail it. Think Kerry king of slayer he does the same thing.
Veron Reid Frets the open D string (that you play) on the 5th fret in doing so it gives the song a different feel and texture, give it a try you'll hear and feel it. what you are playing is damn near perfect and great for beginners
Would maybe have been one of the Greatest Songs ever .. that also..sadly has one of the Shittiest guitar solos from this era. Vernon Reid is a killer player, but that solo was sloppy and out of tune...justv excessively "whammy-barred" the fuck outta that track and it sucked the soul outta that tune to the point I've never done my own cover version bc idk how to recreate melodic slop.. That song didn't need any lead break, honestly.
BEST IN THE WORLD!

Deep Purple defined Living Colours as “The most talented yet underrated band ever”
Who is DP said that…?!?
And you can trust Deep Purple. He's one of the smartest musicians ever. Right up there with Pink Floyd and Steely Dan. Just 3 great dudes.
@@touchstonejean2877 Slipknot is an amazing talent, he sounds like 9 different musicians when he performs

Hey Carl, any plans of recording a full lesson of this one?
Those crazy solos should be fun to play. 🤣
Awesome, just what I was looking for. Any chance you could do a quick video on the solo? Not note for note or anything, but just some of the techniques to make it sound like that. It's almost like organized chaos.

PUNK IS BACK!!

@@MICKSHRED They are not random notes ! He has performed the solo live on stage with very few discrepancies 🥴
