I just mastered my extended butterfly on Tuesday. As I’m blind I learn slightly differently. If I was to look up at my foot when I was straightening my leg, then that would definitely knock me off balance. I learned how to have my foot in the right position because one day, my teacher just told me to stick out my bum, as far as I can and to point my toes when I’m in the final position and that seems to work for me. She also told me that when I’m in the final position to concentrate on putting the ear closest to my extended arm next to one another to help me balance and it really does work.
