Factorio can also be quite a casual experience. It has a setting to make the biters only attack you if you attack them, and you could also disable them completely.
I let Factorio sit on my Steam Wishlist for over a year. And the first time I played it, I did nothing else for 30 hours straight. I was basically 30 Years Old at the time, and now have several thousand hours in the game. Not because I dedicate huge chunks of time to it anymore, but because I play at least some almost every day.
I like this game because I have time to think about it. The extraction points are infinite and you don’t have to worry about always eating or breathing. You just have to worry if you make enough power to make the other things. There’s monsters around so the world don’t feel dead and to find out where stuff is. Since if there’s an alien, then it’s protecting something. My favorite part is probably that you don’t loose anything when building something. You also don’t have to make belts separately and the same with buildings. You just have these parts that can be put together to make something. The only thing that’s really missing from the game is the story. As it is now you only realize it when it tells you “this item isn’t finished yet” Besides that, people don’t need more reason than, they’re there to exploit the planet and make factories
Very good review! Also the "it is hard to push the game to its limit" is the fault of let's game it out, since the devs use his belt nuclear reactor cocoon to test every update.
I think they also use BLAndrew575’s save. That dude has a factory producing 375 heavy modular frames per minute. If you have played Satisfactory then you probably have an understanding of just how gargantuan of a task that is. I think it makes like 68,000 screws per minute.
CoffeeStain is so great at interacting with their fanbase/customers. There are so few companies that have the humility to really use the community for development without taking advantage of them.
@@marshallc6215 heavy encased frame is an alternate to the original recipe. The original uses 100 screws. There is another alternate, heavy flexible frame, that uses 104 screws. Heavy encased frames are definitely the preferred recipe depending on circumstance.
when (if) you finish with the elevator final parts and want something else, take a look (if you haven't already) to Satisfactory Plus, a mod overhaul of the main game (and forget almost everything you know of the vanilla game).
Nice video, i love this game so seeing other people talking about it like that really makes my day, also idk if it's early gameplay but remember the hotbar! you have 9 hotbars you can access with ctrl+ number and assign whatever you want by hovering something in the build menu and press a number!
Oh yeah it's gameplay from "newish" early game save. I usually have specific hotbars saved for pipes, hypertubes, and quick foundationing. Honestly can't believe I forgot to talk about it because it is an amazing system.
If you like these types of games you should try Mindustry. As Satisfactory is like Factorio but much more simpler and more about the Tower Defense part
I'm trying to give it a serious go now. I've been playing since August 2019, when it was still just a baby. No trucks, no trains, definitely no drones. I have yet to get even to serious mid-game. I'm easily distracted by the flood of games that Factorio has inspired. Dyson Sphere Program, Factory Town, and if you haven't played Captain of Industry yet, seriously... Hoping to give Satisfactory a real play through, especially now that I just bought it AGAIN on Steam. 1, because I dislike Epic. And B, because I think they deserve a full $60 from me.
Great video. You should definitely play Factorio. Ive unistalled it countless times because its TOO good. Ive lost days and weeks optimising and designing.
great video ,deserves more views ,its the only video ive watched about this game and i also read steam reviews and i want to buy the game ,but do you think it would be better to wait for 1.0 to come out or should i not wory about the campaign comeing out ??
Well any and all updates heading to 1.0 are free updates and I truly believe the game has felt like a full game since update 5. I wouldn't say wait. It's a truly fantastic game already and the story will just add to it later.
The only thing you probably should be waiting for is update 8, since they update their engine from U4 to U5. It might corrupt existing save files if you didnt make safety copies
@@seththepotate not neceseraly complicated, but very time consuming. After You unlock aluminium, the game kind of becomes a more power - more stuff - more power - more stuff loophole. I love the game regardless but the more casual side will give up at aluminium
@@Rambrus0 for me, I generally build a single 20GW fuel/turbofuel plant before getting into bauxite, then that'll last me well into nuclear, where I can add another 10 or 20 GW and I reliably burn out on the transition into the final space elevator phase because of the semi-mandatory global resource movement.
Claiming Satisfactory to be "The best factory builder" in the thumbnail, without even having tried factorio... yeah..."do not recommend this channel" checked..

Just realized I misread your comment with my last reply. Sorry. I had no idea Factorio had that! Maybe I will actually check it out then.

How in the hell did I not know that?? Thank you for sharing that knowledge.

Really cool! Definitely going to check it out on steam
I seriously cannot recommend it enough.

Found this gem in 2020 and it's been my game of the year for the last 3 years
Would have been for me if I hadn't discovered Stellaris. Whoops.
I have been playing Satisfactory exclusively since I discovered it 5 months ago. I didn’t even know this genre existed but I absolutely love it.

Its crazy how many hours i put into this game but still couldnt finish the current last tier in the space elevator
Exactly the same right here. Gets too complicated for me to have the drive to finish it.
