I bought a 2021 Model 3 LR and had the exact same problem happen. They replaced the 12v battery in warranty, very easy and quick mobile service. I traded it in on a Model Y 2022 Performance, it has a new Li-Ion 16v battery that replaced that 12v... I hear it's more reliable.
@@Odyssey636 These cars have a battery that functions much the same way as batteries in gas cars. That's the one she's talking about. It appears you came here seeking to spread misinformation about the other battery? That's why you are calling it clickbait?
Really? Did you have to not specify the low voltage battery in the title? There is a big difference between saying your car needs a new battery vs your car needs a new engine (obviously referring to combustion cars). It’s an even bigger difference on an EV. You made me curious on how a high voltage battery system warranty/service would work and just showed a normal occurrence that happens on combustion cars like normal. Only difference is you get an early warning and service under warranty.
@@edgetoedge Thanks. You added context that was already in the title and video answering my question of how the high voltage battery service works under warranty, wait you weren’t referring to that at all, even though it is unanimous to refer to the high voltage and not low voltage in an EV, the rechargeable battery in laptops and not the cmos battery, and the rechargeable battery in cameras and not the capacitor. Your reply did nothing to answer my questions, and added information that was already known. Title sounds like a teenage girl saying “My Hand Needs A New Fingernail!” Without adding the context of getting manicures instead of surgical replacement.

Seems accurate to me. Haven't you ever changed a battery before?
I wouldn’t call this clickbait. The title is 100% factual and accurate.

Wonderful! Mobile service is great! I’m ready to upgrade my 2020 model 3! Congrats on the 2022 Model Y! And yes the lithium should do better for you.
Good video! Keep the title! Many are actually unaware of the 12v battery in Teslas. They think it is just one big battery and that is all.
Then put 12V in the title...
@expertgaming1002 Exactly! And Thank you!
@@MidlandCruiser Why? Who cares? My 66 bug had a 6V and people didn't care.

And Mobile Service which is not offered with my other vehicles.
I think it's just fine. And I've replaced hundreds of batteries and hundreds of engines on both ICE cars and EVs.

So this was covered completely under warranty? Even the service call?
Yes it was!

Tesla after 2/2021 cars have lithium 12v which likely good for 10+ years.

What's "2/12"?

And, did it cost anything and if so how much?
I put some info in the description but it was covered under warranty. Tesla said if not covered they are around $100.
