Yes, I put two colors together by rolling them separately in oblong shapes, then smash them together into a #10 hook, rolled them in my palm and shaped the final bait into a minnow. Thanks for watching.
We follow the plant so day 3 after the plant, fish are active. We've fished Lake Chabot 3 times and was successful only once. However, we continue to hear Racoon Point remains active and productive. Good luck and let us know how you do. Thanks for watching.
Yes, Handicap docks are productive. Dock near parking lot has great views except the grafitti on the highway retaining wall. We caught catfish on that dock.
At 1:36 seconds, you present false information. The pink meat in those trout is NOT a result of cross breeding with Salmon. Here's why those trout have pink meat: " Dark red/orange meat indicates it is either an anadromous steelhead or a farmed rainbow trout given a supplemental diet with a high astaxanthin content. The resulting pink flesh is marketed under monikers such as Ruby Red or Carolina Red. " Go look up astaxanthin to see just what you're eating. As a fly tier, fly fisherman, and Aquatic Entomologist for just over 25 years, I know which foods turn Salmon, Steelhead, and Trout flesh pink. Primarily Krill & Scuds. For example, in the Trinity River, there are Scuds which the fish feed on that turns their flesh pink to red, like anadromous fish.
You're most welcome. I don't expect you to believe me, you can do your own research as I have !!! I've spent countless hours studying and on-stream sampling. I had to take care of my parents for 15 years till they both passed, so didn't have the time to focus on fishing. I've fished the Sierras, Northern California rivers, as well as Oregon, Washington State, and British Columbia rivers. I've fished Lake Chabot off and on for 50 years and have seen many changes in the watershed. So, decided to " check back in ". Now that my duty to my parents has been fulfilled, I'm moving back to fishing. Tight lines & peace . . .
Mark, I just did my research and all along I thought it was true. I should've known better. From now on, I will simply state it's the food they eat that makes it pink. Well lessons learned and I hope we can fish together sometime.
Well done Sir !!! I don't know if I'll be able to get out fishing this year, but definitely in 2019. I'll look for you when I'm at Chabot. I know what you look like, and you'll know me by my beard, glasses, and an old, tan, wide brim hat. Tight lines Brother . . ,.
Another great vid Marcos! Thx for the upload.
In the 90's, I actually plaid Marcos character in a "B" rated movie. Lol.
Nice trout! Is there a certain time of day that trout fishing is best?
Nathaniel D. Depends on weather but morning first light, 11am-1pm, late afternoon as sun goes down.
2:56 What did you mean by pumpkin green and orange? Did you put 2 colors of bait on the hook?
Yes, I put two colors together by rolling them separately in oblong shapes, then smash them together into a #10 hook, rolled them in my palm and shaped the final bait into a minnow. Thanks for watching.
Hi sorry if somebody asks before but I wanted to know what kind of bait you are using to fish at Lake Chabot
Pls and thank you for your time and video
Powerbait and worms. Sometimes Power Eggs and Micetails too. Best to try different baits especially on newly planted trout. Thanks for watching.
How is the fishing this time of year? I'm planning on going this Saturday

Anglers Lifestyle have you fished lake Temascal?
Yes, Handicap docks are productive. Dock near parking lot has great views except the grafitti on the highway retaining wall. We caught catfish on that dock.
Anglers Lifestyle, ok I'm aiming for trout. Would you recommend Chabot or temescal?
Angelo Miranda Temescal is scheduled to get a trout plant this week so this weekend should be good. Let us know how you do.
Is that dock with the handrails called “first dock”?
Nathaniel D. Yes, but more like the ADA pier, because it's wheel chair accessible.
Anglers Lifestyle Thanks Marcos.
LOL. In the 90s, I played Marcos in a B rated movie so I'm not surprise you guys reference that name. Thank you.
Anglers Lifestyle oh dang I thought that was your real name. LOL. What length leader do you use when fishing dock 1 at chabot?
Good one on the name. Try 24". Bigger fish like to hug bottom of lake. We've seen them schooling right of dock towards marina.
love ti
Thanks for watching. Glad you loved it.
I’m pretty sure red trout meat means they are wild trout don’t quote me on that though
I always thought they were hybrids but definitely wrong. It's the food they eat at the hatchery that makes their meat orange. Thanks for watching.

I've never been told so now I know. Thanks for the information and thank you for watching.
