My boyfriend just got prescribed this medication. I have worked pharmacy for 10 years, but hadn't heard of this medication. (working compounds for the last 5 years) thanks for the video. appreciate it!
Hi, I hope you will notice this. I would like to ask if u happen to have a video on how to refill the basaglar kwikpen? I cannot find an exact video for this brand on how to refill once you emptied your insulin pen. Thank you!
Hope you see this; there is no refill unless you use a reusable pen like Companion Medical makes. If not, just throw the plastic empty pen away and use a new one w a new needle tip. Hope that helps
Exact same thing just happened to me! Did your doses change with the switch? With Basaglar I’ve been having to take less than half of the units I use to take with Lantus because I can’t keep my blood sugar up. I’m constantly low & it’s getting ridiculous.
Hi I have noticed that often in the evening often after doing Abasaglar I go to the bathroom to vomit .. Is it a coincidence or can it be another side effect not mentioned deriving from the drug?
Is this listed as a 24 Hr like lantus? Or like 36 hr like tresiba is? I'm having to switch for insurance reasons. Damn insurance. But I'd never heard of this until now.
@@JeffthePharmacist ok cool. so ill probably have to do a couple shots a day and spilit my dose! its what i had to do on lantus :( Also, THANK YOU for responding, you never know on older videos but I def appreciate it!
My doc just prescribed this to me. I've been on 2 different insulin in the past. Scared to get on a new insulin after not being on any insulin for almost 2 years. Insurance didn't approve it though and I'd like to think I have pretty decent insurance. Weird.
I've taken it for about ten days. It does absolutely nothing!!! So it makes us fatter?? This company ought to be sent to prison! My doctor told me to take this at bed time. No worries so far about hypoglycemia.
I'm on 60 units daily of lantus now. Insurance changed and not i will have to pay 700.00 for 90 days of lantus. Could i switch to basaglar (370.00 for 90 days) ?
Basaglar pen has problem..hard to use..not as smooth as other pens.

I'm at 135 should i take the Basaglar insulin?
I wouldn’t unless the units are low
Thank you for the information on this particular insulin. My endocrinologist switched me from Lantus to this (insurance reasons).

Nerve response. You afraid of needles?

I have heart failure this doesn't sound like this is a good medication for me

yeah your doc would have to write a new rx
It’s very good quality because I am using this basaglar .
Don't switch. It is cheap untested and different from Landis. Read the reviews. Google basaglar reviews.
I have gained 30lbs in 3 months but doctors wont take me off it and keep increasing my dosage
I know for you that might be bad but for me omg I would love that weight lol..
yeah its kind of natural because insulin moves the sugar into the fat cells for storage
Wow never heard of immunogenicity. Can it happen with just Basaglar or other insulins as well?
It seems to happen with most protein based drugs, all the GLP-1 agonists, insulins, lots of stuff.
It's not working.
I'm on basaglars
I'm on it, 35 units at night
I take 5Units
25 units for me at night.
Me too
Im on it 50 units...blood sugar level is 413
That’s really high mine is at 5Units
Melanie, that is very high. Hopefully your fast-acting insulin is more effective.
Im on fast rapid now fiasp
When you talk about the side effects...you need a grim reaper hood and mask on and the infamous sickle...that'll scare the shit out people , lol.
yeah side effects are scary enough!
