On Pentatonix Once Upon A December Voctave did the background singing with them. There is no video of it but it is on PTX's We Need A Little Christmas album.
One of my PTX favorites! I so wish more people reacted to it! And When You Wish Upon A Star. Both are horribly under rated. 💞
Great reaction, Salvo! The 11 member ensemble came together in 2017. In late 2015, there were only 8 members when they recorded the "Disney Love Medley" featuring Kirstin Maldanado and Jeremy Michael Lewis. In 2020, the tenor/musical director, Tony De Rosa, and one of the basses, J. C. Fullerton, left the emsemble and were replaced with tenor, Drew Ochoa, and bass, Aaron Stratton. Thus, the current Voctave emsemble is still 11 members.
The composer/arranger is Jamey Ray. In this performance he is the second from the left, standing between Tony De Rosa and E. J. Cardona. The 1st soprano, Kate Lott, is a coloratura soprano who is trained in classical opera. Jamey Ray admittedly favors the women in his arrangements. His favorite among the women is the 2nd soprano, Tiffany Coburn. This is evident in her solo performances in "The Impossible Dream" and "Oh, Holy Night" among others.
The "Disney Princess Medley" is a great demonstration of the ensemble name, "Voctave". They have a 5 (Roman numeral "V") octave range. Kate and Tiffany can easily hit a C6 while the basses can easily hit a C2.
Soprano 1 is Kate Lott. I love seeing people react to her first high note knowing they haven't seen anything yet. Soprano 2 is Tiffany Coburn even there she is holding back because of her part being Cinderella which wouldn't fit if she really let loose as she can. One interesting point is Tiffany's part is the one where Katie doesn't go stratospheric. Jamey Ray was clever to not make it a soprano contest. Each "princess" gets a chance to shine. Sarah Whittemore Alto 1 is as close to being Ariel vocally as the original singing voice Jodi Benson. Ashley Espinoza Alto/Soprano can easily bring a person to tears of joy with her Reflections.the 5th princess, Chrystal Johnson Alto 2 Pocahontas has such depth and is sung with amazing understanding. Jamey has swept down the scale and is bringing us back to the top for the finale but while you're preparing to have the roof blown off the top of the studio he suprises with incredible restraint that dumbfounds with a pure shimmering note. Kudos to the guys for the solid low support but then again it is a princess tune. While you only see 11 in this video there are 12 members.

VOC-tive (rhymes with octave). The group was started by Jamey Rey, who is standing second from the far left. He is also the arranger for ALL of their amazing pieces. I just saw them live in Scottsdale a few nights ago and they sound just like they do on UA-cam. Most of the 11 members are either current or former members of the Voices of Liberty at Epcot and the various members have performed with other groups at other locations within Disney World. The arrangements are written specifically for EACH singer's voice -- and Voctave has everything from a basso profundo to a stratospheric coloratura soprano, giving them a total range of over 5 octaves to work with.
Thanks for this reaction. This is the "choral" group of a capella and, yes, there are 11 members, all of whom have performed or are still performing for the Disney resorts in Orlando, Florida. I second the request for their Disney Love Medley featuring Kirstin Maldonado and her former fiancee Jeremy Michael Lewis. They also do a Prince of Egypt Medley that's awesome!!!
You should totally check out their 90s Disney TV medley. Nostalgia overload. I'd also recommend their Great Movie Medley, which is their tribute to John Williams.
The guy in the black leather jacket next to Kate (the girl with the crazy high notes) is EJ. He was featured in Voiceplay's Go The Distance video.
The wonderful members of Voctave present their music in a mixed choral style of acapella. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? The singer’s voice you liked is Sarah Whittemor.
If I'm not mistaken, every member of this group has been a member of the Liberty Singers at Disney World, Epcot Center. They know & perform Disney like no other! 💖

I loved your reaction to this video. The guy that's responsible for the arrangement is Jamie Ray, standing to the conductor's left. I loved the way Jamie wrote the arrangements and assigned the parts to best reflect the Disney sound of the decade the movie's release.

I do find it kinda funny that you mention the vocalist for Part Of Your World (Sarah) has a Disney voice seeing how she and the majority of Voctave are actually members of the Voices of Liberty singing group in EPCOT at Walt Disney World (which is how most, if not all, originally met). They basically formed Voctave to have some extra fun together when not working.
My favorite of Voctave's is their Great Movie Medley. It's a bunch of scores by John Williams.

Yes there are 11 constant members of the group comprising voces that span 5 octaves. They regularly work at Disney's Epcot Center but now perform outside of Disney events.

The first two singers, Kate and Tiffany, are singing in the fashion of the early Disney princesses. There was a more classical sound in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. The newer Disney princess voice is a "pop" sound. Kudos to arranger, Jamie Ray, for picking the right songs to fit the Voctave ladies' voices!
I would love to see you react to the Great Movie Medley. It is a compilation of songs from famous movies and they use their voices to imitate an orchestra. They only sing the lyrics to one song. It is AMAZING!
Voctave are amazing! No beatboxing here, clear, perfect voices that just take you to a special place. May I suggest Disney Showstoppers to highlight the males & The Great Movie Medley if you love soundtracks.

I kind of disagree that the first solo isn’t ‘Disney’ enough. It is an almost perfect version of Snow White! It really seems off to you mostly because the song is written so differently from the more recent princess songs. It really is that high pitched in the movie.
