My question is why pay $35,000 and with taxes and out the door close to $40,000 for a Camry XSE, when you can get a base Lexus ES 350 for 40,000 and it is nicer than any Camry. Used to be not worth it when there was a $10,000+ difference but now there is only a $4,000 + difference. The 9th Gen 2025 Camry Hybrid with AWD, it will always be in FWD unless the vehicle needs AWD then it will automatically switch from FWD to AWD. You cannot have AWD all the time as there is no setting to keep AWD on. It is FWD until there is a demand for AWD in which you have no control.

Doing the same trip in my Santa Fe SEL, a/c on I get 34 mpg.
What I like about Camry is that you can beat the cрАp out of it and not feel guilty about it. It eats up miles no wonder these make great cabs. Good on Toyota for keeping the spare. Wake up, Honda. Do you ever figure mpg based on actual gas quantity you add to the tank. Just watched another vid on same car, and that tester got significantly better mpg based on actual gallons added to refill the tank. Trip computers may be more of an educated approximation. I'll be curious how you end up liking/not liking the black roof. I know surface temps on black/dark are substantially higher vs light colors, so in sunny climates, this may be a drawback. They do this on the RAV4 XSE too. At least it's an option on the Camry, whereas I think maybe 1 color of the RAV4 is available in the XSE without the black roof. This car looks like a winner. Wondering if anyone has prelim info on the next gen RAV4 and whether it will be getting the Gen 5 hybrid pack.
When we do the official fuel economy testing, we always calculate it manually. Sometimes the cars readout is spot-on but other times it's off a little bit
Great review! Would it be possible to review the safety sense/lane keeping/adaptive cruise with stop and go, etc please? Very interested in how long you can drive on the highway with hands off wheel? Do we have a viable competitor here to Super Cruise? In my opinion this info is key for any car review. Thank you Bros! PS love the sound level readings, great job!
Thank you, friend! I can just go ahead and say that it is nowhere in the ballpark of SuperCruise and not designed for hands-free at all (with the exception of getting the Premium Plus package with hands-free UNDER 25 MPH). The lane-tracing assist still prompts you to turn the wheel on straight highways every 20 seconds or so.
Yesterday I went to test drive a Camry SE, I don't know if that is supposed to be or maybe just that car, during the drive I felt some kind of medal scratch the whole run, feel like emergency brake on and the brake have run out off rubber, just bear medal brake.
Looks pretty good! Couple “huh?” moments like the hard plastic rear door sills. Not sure about the engine noise, maybe the mic picks it up more than our ears do? Because to me it sounds very loud and droning, par for the course for Toyota 4 cylinders I suppose. Even though the red color is a bit loud, I still love that it’s an option. About time color makes a comeback.
Great video. The new Camry has a lot to like, if not love. One thing that I do not like is the piano black trim around the cupholders. That stuff is impossible to keep clean, especially in that area. I wish that area was made of an easier-to-clean material.
My 2007 Camry is the last Camry I'll own, no big oversized screen blocking my view, no unnecessary technology. It has a 5 Speed Manual Transmission and an SE interior with a Power Sunroof and Black Leather seats. My next car is a Scion FR-S.
My 07 5 speed died at 186,000K. I took that thing camping where it's not made to go, it never failed. Unfortunately, the ongoing 2FE engine burning oil caught up to it. I miss the simplicity of the car.
@@25decembar Mine has oil consumption but it's not bad I do my oil changes every 3,000kms to keep the pistons and rods healthy it doesn't hurt to do a weekly oil level check. I'll be doing a 2GR-FE swap real soon, following the MR2 guys builds mated to a Manual Transmission. I would love to upgrade the pistons, rods, and camshafts, for a turbo application.
great review and I wonder if your sound level reading might be higher than the LE trim due to the bigger wheel size and tire profile, firmer suspension or the large sun roof that was not covered by a closed headliner - I will be renting a 2025 LE AWD soon and was a little disappointed that your sound level did not beat the 2023 Camry hybrid or come close to the K5 and Sonata hybrid. It would also be interesting to get an accurate zero to 60 test as other reviews are as low as 6.9 seconds and 6.57 seconds for the AWD model - thanks for your tireless work and emphasis on cabin quietness!
are the seats comfortable, the headrest looks tilted, i have 2024 sorento and seat not comfortable because off headrest, i would trade whole car in for that
I just got a 2025 Camry SE. It was estimated to get 47/48 mpg. The first 600 miles it is averaging 38mpg. Is it common for the fuel economy to be lower if the car is brand new?
I've had stability issues with Carplay between my iPhone14proMax and the 2024 prius. I suspect it's the same software in the car more or less. The system just loses connectivity and is hard to reconnect. Used to take me days but turning the center display off (with the volume knob pushing till it turns off) and on seems to get it to reconnect.
finally, let me check vid. My cousin bought 2025 Camry too but his MPG is very low. My cousin MPG barely pass 40MPG which is like 10 less than advertised, so my cousin felt like getting scammed.
Tires size, AWD'FWD, road condition, weather condition and how your cousin's driving style does effect on the mpgs so take that into the consideration.
You don't drive Hybrid Toyota's like regular cars, if you want The best mpg. You can gain 10-15 mpg, but you have to work for it. I.e. coasting rather than breaking, not accelerating like crazy, and maximizing your EV usage at low speed by 'blipping' the throttle once you've reached your desired speed. That's why taxis love Toyota hybrids, you can really save on fuel if you make the effort. Some find driving like that to be a pain tbh. Hondas are a little bit easier to drive efficiently. They both have similar mpgs.
How much range do you get out of a full tank and what does it cost to fill the 13 gallon tank on average, what sort of MPG did you get on your first tank of fuel compared to now?
For full size Dudes (6-3 and up) its a no go, mirror view gets cut off cause seats dont go low enough. Did they change that for 2024? I looked at a 2023 but I sat too high to get proper view at 6-3.
The fact that the model you are showing us is considered one of the top-tier models, yet doesn't have a top-tier sound system is exactly why I'm not buying this Camry. I feel those are rip off tactics, just like their SE models having a smaller infotainment screen than the XSE. This is why companies like Kia and Hyundai are giving companies like Honda and Toyota a run for their money.
@@Frijol_ColoradoDoesn’t make what OP is saying untrue though. Toyota is resting on the laurels of their past reputation and jacking up prices to match.

Then the guy says well how much more and the the salesman said no it’s standard. They did this several times back and forth. I said to myself Toyota probably never wants anyone to see this commercial. They have got so far from that and that’s bad. I’ve own several Lexus suv and cars but in my opinion Toyota nickel and dimes you more than any car maker. Accord has way more stuff that come standard on it and it’s cheaper and slightly bigger. Just my two cents. @chickennoodle6620
Have to admit. I just bought a 2025 Camry Se. I wish I could say I was really impressed. Am underwhelmed really. My 2016 Mazda 6 Sedan...AWESOME car. Much better build, better ride, more spacious and the touches aesthetically far, far better. The wild increase in price (2016 out the door for the Mazda 6 Sedan was...25,000. My current 2025 Camry, 35,000) Not even close..A testament to the increase in labor, materials and manufacturing costs and reduced quality. Sad really. Only bought it for the prospect of longevity.
I saw a new Camry on the road a couple days ago, but it was a lower trim-missing the black bar integrated with the XSE tail lights. The rear looked very awkward without that bar. Would be nice if Toyota just made it standard on all trims.
It's not what I would call fantastic but it's comfortable enough for us to be satisfied at this price point. ES definitely has elevated seats above this.

2025 Camry Hybrid has a 13 gallon gas tank for all trims and roughly average 47 MPG for SE or XSE trim giving you 610 miles per tank but you will never want the gas tank get to empty or have the Fuel Light indicator come on. Best to refuel at 1/4 tank or maybe just below. Don't ever overfill the Gas Tank. Nozzle in, once the backpressure is sensed and you get the Click, you are done filling the gas tank. Overflow or overfilling will allow gasoline into the Charcoal Canister and in time if done enough will cause numerous and expensive repairs and could lead to blowing your engine. Always use Octane 87 fuel or what is recommended. Premium and Super Unlead is never needed and there is zero performance gain as just a waste of money. Today's vehicles are set up to run on gasoline with Ethanol, so you do not need Ethanol Free gas. Never use fuel additives. If you live in the U.S. Northeast or Canada or upper U.S. States, you may use Iso-HEET when the vehicle is like 5 plus years old. Personally, I despise and hate all Hybrids and EVs. I like my V6 and V8 engines (ICE).
Low key I might just pick this as my first car. My parents spoil me too much and even agreed to get me a BMW 5 series but honestly going into college this might be more practical and I can blend in better.
Get a lightly used 3 series m340i. 40k and the b58 is super fast and reliable. if you have to buy new (which you should honestly never do) get the toyota. the bmw already 20+% depreciated is better IMO though cus you get the fun of bmw
Not at all. It's very common for automakers to change only the things you can see in a full redesign. Toyota did it differently by leaving a few visual elements the same but doing more with powertrain and dynamics.
The Toyota Camry is generally not considered a luxury car like the ones you mentioned. People buy them because they are reliable, affordable and practical. When you take away the affordable, some people will go elsewhere
Cars come with way more features these days, and cars overall are more expensive. A mid-trim Camry is basically near-luxury, comparable to an entry level German vehicle.
Great review, guys! This is exactly the way I'm thinking of optioning one, except would like the red & black two tone exterior & front edge lighting. With the optional edge lighting on the front corners of the nose, do you know if that's something that can be added after the fact, or does it need to come from the factory that way? Also, do you know if you can special order one of these, or do you have to find it optioned out the way you like?
Thanks! I'm not sure about the edge lighting but I think it's installed at the factory. Toyota doesn't really do special orders but dealerships can match you to allocations and from there you may be able to change some of the options
Beautiful car. I have a hold on XSE supersonic red two tone with black interior, but they order one prior with request of red interior and premium plus package with the 360 camera and added sensors, but could take up to 6 months and no guarantee all options will be added, so I put a hold on the XSE red with the premium package. However, I have not been able to see a wind chill pearl two tone In person. I was interested in the accent lights but they seem to know nothing about it or how to order it, although I saw on their website for $399. I went to see a white peal one today that was sold, but couldn’t locate it at the dealership, until I left I saw the tail end from a distance as the buyer left. I saw a loaner they had that was super sonic red with red interior, but didn’t look inside but was beautiful color. Do you think the supersonic red with black interior is a good choice vs white pearl?
That was our second choice if we couldn't get white exterior with red interior. If you want the two-tone roof, your color choices are limited to only 4

Thanks!
Looking forward to your tests on this one.
So what made choose to buy a Camry over the Prius? I am trying to decide between the 2
To be clear, is the heated seats not offered at all on the rear seats or just the xse?
I wish they had more interior colors like gray or a light brown. Maybe two tone seats.
Great video guys! I’m also interested in comparing 2025 Camry to 2025 Honda Civic sport hybrid touring hatchback
are the seats comfortable, the headrest looks tilted, i have 2024 sorento and seat not comfortable because off headrest, i would trade whole car in for that
Love the new look. My old 2007 Camry LE had gas hood lift struts which worked fine until I sold it in 2023, just saying !
Yeah Toyota has cut them out of almost all their models no matter what price
What's the name of those sporty rims you mentioned?
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Can’t wait for that night time review 🎉
Coming in a few days!
I just got a 2025 Camry SE. It was estimated to get 47/48 mpg. The first 600 miles it is averaging 38mpg. Is it common for the fuel economy to be lower if the car is brand new?
It can be for a while. We are at 1,000 miles and getting ready to execute some fuel economy testing this week ourselves
Same. Heavy foot on red lights maybe?
@@mizuki-4222 also consider the break in period. The high mpgs stabilize after a couple 1000 miles after the break in period.
If he drives it with a heavy foot….
@@khakiswagThat would be me. I had to refill every 3 days. Terrible habit.
AWD doesn't have slight Torque steer or Wheelspin on full throttle.
I wouldn’t really call it a run for their money considering Toyota sells 9 million more cars a YEAR than Kia and Hyundai together 🤡
@@Frijol_ColoradoDoesn’t make what OP is saying untrue though. Toyota is resting on the laurels of their past reputation and jacking up prices to match.
@@chickennoodle6620 I bought an infinity q50 red sport “best model” still paid for Bose sound upgrade, Lexus gx luxury trim “Best model” still paid for mark Levi sound upgrade, Mercedes gl63 “Best Model” Still paid for harman upgrade…. Seems like only the poor people like Hyundai and Kia have to include the sound upgrade because the car is literal 🐕 💩
@@Frijol_Coloradothe G90 is 89k, not a poor persons car secondly I think the point he is trying to make is that everyone is going to the charging you more and giving you less motto. The cell phone without the charge so to say. I saw a Toyota commercial the other day it was from the 70’s I guess and the buyer kept telling the salesman I bet it doesn’t come with this and the salesman says actually it does.
How does spending a ton of money on a depreciating asset make you rich?
I wonder how the steering is. Is it lighter, or is it heavy like the old version of the Camry?
It has a little more heft and better response than the previous generation
Have to admit. I just bought a 2025 Camry Se. I wish I could say I was really impressed. Am underwhelmed really.
My 2016 Mazda 6 Sedan...AWESOME car. Much better build, better ride, more spacious and the touches aesthetically far, far better.
The wild increase in price (2016 out the door for the Mazda 6 Sedan was...25,000. My current 2025 Camry, 35,000) Not even close..A testament to the increase in labor, materials and manufacturing costs and reduced quality. Sad really. Only bought it for the prospect of longevity.
Does it have a CVT transmission
I saw a new Camry on the road a couple days ago, but it was a lower trim-missing the black bar integrated with the XSE tail lights. The rear looked very awkward without that bar. Would be nice if Toyota just made it standard on all trims.
How about front seat comfort? Consumer Reports says it’s ‘just ok’. As a retiree, that’s why I’m going with the ES300h.
It's not what I would call fantastic but it's comfortable enough for us to be satisfied at this price point. ES definitely has elevated seats above this.
Do they do over the air updates for the connectivity issues with the infotainment system?
Not sure yet but I think so
@@CarConfections Congrats on upgrading that H car. This is better.
XSE 👌
I like the grill, blending into lexus territory. Toyota and Lexus are my faves
Does the car bottom out? I heard there is not much ground clearance.
Hasn't been a problem yet but obviously it is a low profile sedan
How long does it take to start (boot up) before you can start driving?
Not more than 10 minutes
Umm 1-2 seconds. The gas engine won't fire up normally but you can still drive immediately
@@CarConfections Thank you so much for the response. Love your channel.
how much of the mileage reduced from using the a/c?
Love the RED ❤
Did you guys get a good deal or is it a $600 plus payment a month without putting a ton of money down? It just sucks things are how they are now or I’d have this . Can’t justify paying a ton of money a month on a non luxury car or put a ton of money down for a normal payment but it looks like a great car
You should consider the LE model if you don’t want to pay that much. The XSE fully loaded is a luxury car.
@@khakiswag luxury car? 😂😂😂
@@khakiswag no it’s not it’s a Camry , it’s very nice my aunt has one but she told me her payment and o had to make sure it wasn’t a bmw lol. You’re nuts if you pay the prices and payments that the dealers want these days . People put 6 plus K down for a car lol . To each their own but I’ll wait till things get back to normal soon …
I got an essay that sticker for 33.542 for 31.087. I put 12 down and have a $400 monthly for 60 months. I put that much down to get a low interest rate.
@@kromahj what features does a base model BMW 3 series have that this car doesn’t? I dare you to find a BMW 3 or even 5 series with the features this car has for that price. If you want to pay more and get less for an emblem go ahead. I’ll take this fully loaded Camry over a base model BMW and keep the saved money in my pocket.
What's the gas tank size and range ?
@@richscott2483 wow thanks so much for your thoughtful response
Has some of the Lexus vibes on the front grill
Why don't you have a sensor on the steering wheel? It comes with the car.
Premium Plus package is required
My white XSE has WHITE side mirrors and the DASH Cam
Low key I might just pick this as my first car. My parents spoil me too much and even agreed to get me a BMW 5 series but honestly going into college this might be more practical and I can blend in better.
You’re so Lucky I can’t afford this car 😢
Your parents did not spoil you to blend in. Unless you've had an epiphany. Get the BMW and take your place.
@@KOKOBC Get the XSE then. You can be cool and practical.
Get a toyota best decision of your life.
Get a lightly used 3 series m340i. 40k and the b58 is super fast and reliable. if you have to buy new (which you should honestly never do) get the toyota. the bmw already 20+% depreciated is better IMO though cus you get the fun of bmw
Now you should give it away to 1 of your subscribers, aka me 😂🙌
53/50 sounds pretty damn good in hybrid.
You won’t get optimal mileage until the engine is broken in, at least 4,000 miles.
whats the interest rate ? is it toyota financing?
Not liking the front end. I dunno... something about the grill just doesn't sit right with me.
Me either. I think it's ugly. Then again I don't like Camry's in general.
They look nice and a lot of reviewers praise for its front styling. Personally I dig it.
Not overly jazzed with it either but not offensive to me as well. I will say this it does look better in person
What do you think about it being a super refresh instead of a redesign? And the fact that it is still on tnga v1 vs tnga v2 like the outgoing prius?
Not at all. It's very common for automakers to change only the things you can see in a full redesign. Toyota did it differently by leaving a few visual elements the same but doing more with powertrain and dynamics.
Love your video
@CarConfections - Can U do a video about the Energy Monitor? ThankU.
Is the hybrid battery pack lithium ion or are they still usiing nickel-hydride?
Li-Ion
People's are complaining this is over price lol. Still beat mercedes, BMW, or Audi which is so much more expensive and dont last long 😅😅
How long will the hybrid battery last?
The Toyota Camry is generally not considered a luxury car like the ones you mentioned. People buy them because they are reliable, affordable and practical. When you take away the affordable, some people will go elsewhere
@redSectorA yes that's why a canry would be better then Garmen car lmao
Cars come with way more features these days, and cars overall are more expensive. A mid-trim Camry is basically near-luxury, comparable to an entry level German vehicle.
@jwellsmediainc.4593 only thing is a Camry can last you up to 300k and German car don't
Interested to hear about how the red seats and leather hold up
Did you guys not get the premium plus package??
No
I think the LE would be the one to get.
Did you sell the Santa Fe ?
They did
There's a whole series of videos if you want to check them out, but basically Hyundai bought it back
You guys should do a Camry hybrid xse vs Sonata Hybrid limited video!!
@CarConfections Cool, I appreciate the help. Thanks & keep up the great work!
This car should offer every feature the XLE has. Period. There red interior is way to bright. Should have been a more subdued red, or burgundy
If you want the two-tone roof, your color choices are limited to only 4
how do you think an XLE would compare sound wise and driving comfort wise to your XSE?
Xle is always slightly softer ride but don’t expect Lexus es luxury edition

It used to be pretty loud. But most of the time people don't drive around at full throttle like we did a few times in this review
There are few options for a reliable vehicle.
Hey Guys
Congrats on the new car. It looks terrific.
One thing - please stop playing the audio systems. Most people watch these videos on their phone and so these segments are not at all informative.
Plus, I want to thank you for actually getting out the tape measure and sharing the numbers. That is a much better way to judge leg and cargo space than cubic ft.
Enjoy the new wheels 🎉
You know you could just skip that part of the video…
Most people want to see what the sound system sounds like, especially with the JLB. Unfortunately, they didn’t choose that option but, let them do their job and test the audio for us audio lovers.
In my XSE AWD I got 46.1 mpg over the first 950 miles. With each tank, I have gotten better MPG thus far. This MPG is calculated not from the computer. The computer gives a lower value than actual for me.
It’s giving war hammer titan
What do you think about Camry vs Accord?
