- Monsters, aliens, and Doug McClure populate the colorful 1978 fantasy adventure "Warlords of Atlantis", directed by Kevin Connor and co-starring Peter Gilmore, Shane Rimmer, Cyd Charisse, Daniel Massey, Lea Brodie and John Ratzenberger. From the same production team that made "The Land That Time Forgot", "At the Earth's Core", "The People that Time Forgot", and "Arabian Adventure"....all long before the advent of CGI.

Ah, this trailer brings back memories! I loved this film as a kid!
Hey its Doug McClure. I remember him from such films as "At The Earth's Core". "The Land that Time Forgot" and "Humanoids from the Deep".
Yeah, he was in a lot of those lost world-type movies.
I know from the SIMPSONS :)
In 1978 I was 16, and this is exactly the kind of campy movie that my friends and I were always on the lookout for; how did I miss it?!
Of course everybody beneath the Earth just happened to speak with a British accent wonderful wonderful movie LOL kind of like f****** Stargate every player they go to everybody speaks English ain't that a b**** that's one thing that always pissed me off about Stargate the TV series was a piece of s*** they always stole other plots for others movies and s*** that's when you know a TV series is going down the tube unfortunately the series lasted 10 or 11 years
A time of legend, a time of heroes... when men were men, and monsters were latex!
And Doug McClure was....Doug McClure
Well, at least they ween't crappy computer simulations like in every other movie made nowawdays.
Loved this film when was a kid.
Intact I still do.
Great film
Doug was an excellent actor.
Saw this is the cinema when I was a kid, I still love it.
I loved it as a kid as well. I personally think the "bromance" between Doug and Peter is what made it work.
Always liked Doug MCclure, reputedly s very nice guy.He did a trio of these "lost world"" style pics around that time, included The Land that Time Forgot and At the Earths Core, all drive-in favorites .Wish some company would.issue them as a blu ray box set !
say what you like, this was a good flick! as a kid, those monsters scared the bejaysus out of me..
When I was growing up, movies like this were invariably shown quite commonly, especially in the UK where I grew up (now in Oz..). Yet years later they really disappeared - they were great movies just to escape into during Christmas (when they most seemed to appear..) and what not, proper family fun entertainment. Shame things changed.......
This used to scare the crap out of me.
The monster sound effects are still great.
The Late, Great, Shane Rimmer. 😊💖
Ed Bishop on voiceover duties. Nice!
Saw this at the drive-in and loved it when I was nine!
I remember this as a kid... we all thought it was awesome.
and it was
Saw this at my local the ABC Dover in August 1978. Great stuff, better than all your Jurassic Parks put together
Awesome movie. Practical effects are still better than cgi. CGI still looks like cartoons, and not tangible
Much as I am a lover of practical effects to say CGI is always bad is just not factual. Incorrect use of any effect is bad.
Currently on Netflix, and it looks good!
I remember see this film when i was a kid.
Saw this at the drive in and loved it!
Just ordered this cult favourite on dvd. Great fun film!
Hi I'm Doug McClure you may remember me from such films as The Land That Time Forgot and At the Earths Core
Look for a more violent take on Atlantis the 1983 movie Atlantis Interceptors aka Raiders of Atlantis. It's awesome, best described as Mad Max 2 meets Warlords of Atlantis. 😎😎
Was a great film at the time, the only movie my dad ever took me too, it was double billed with something else, but can't even recall that!
Probably with the land that time forget or the people that time forgot?!
This is AmAzAzing ❣️how did I miss this, Set & Setting, Cyd Charice at like 55, 0MGEeeee...❣️❣️❣️❣️
Classic!!
I think I saw this at a drive-in. Oh man, that was Cyd Charisse!
Ed bishop with the voice over.....aka Ed straker, captain blue and klaus hergersheimer
Class film.
I didn't tell anyone but back in the 1970's drive-in theaters is a all time favorite inside movie theater one thing but drive-in theater now you talking especially when in comes to sci-fi and monster movies as a child and believe me I have a taste for weirdness science fiction and fantasy movies those were the days.
First film I ever saw at the cinema.
Note: the giant octopus is a dinosaur from prehistoric times like meg 2 and mega shark vs Giant octopus.
I think you mean At The Earths Core, yet another Edgar Rice Burroughs novel Doug McClure starred in. One of my personal favorites, in fact.
What salvaged the picture was the fact that Doug and Pete were really friends on and off the screen.
Doug was friends with everyone.
Give me these REAL sets and REAL effects over that phony looking CGI that pollutes our cinema today...awesome forgotten movie
yes because this monster looks so convincing and the set doesn't look like Styrofoam and smoke machines at all.
look I love classic old-school movies. but take off the nostalgia goggles.

These practical effects monsters looks tangible. cgi looks like cgi. Like its not there with the actors. All the best sci-fi movies have practical effects. Alien, Aliens, Predator, Robocop, The Thing, The Terminator, The original Star Wars Trilogy, Planet of the Apes. The list is endless. CGI effects ruined horror movies too. All the best horror movies are ones made in the 80's. Horror movies today that use cgi effects look like video game cut-scenes. Like cartoons
haven't seen this for donkeys...wicked! They don't make them like zis anymore....maybe that's a blessing?! Nah...this is camp class and I would like to see a Fantasy-esque revival without CGI overload....can it be done?!
Saw this at the Drive-in and loved it!
omg! been looking for years to find out what this film was but could remember the name! this is such a great movie!, thanks for helping me remember!
As of right now this hasn't been released in the u.s. I'm not sure why I do have the region 2 DVD.. I enjoyed this movie and hopefully it will get a good region 1 release
I saw this at the Mt. Scott Drive-in in the summer of 1979. I remember thinking the young woman was beautiful, and dreaming that night of rescuing her from a giant octopus (let's not even analyze that, okay?). I haven't seen this in years.
Yay Atlantis!
You cant make a movie about the center of the earth or deep underwater without Doug Mclure....you just cant
A fun, cheesy sci-fi B-movie in the best Roger Corman (RIP 😔) tradition...
That's a cool thing to know-and just the sort of thing they never think to tell; thanks for that!
I remember watching this in the 70s
this one ran at the local cinema with 'watch out were mad ' as a support owesome times
nothing better than a bad doug mcclure movie, and popcorn.
Great action film for the period... cable TV picked a lot of these films up. This was one of the better ones.
Yeah great movie.
Always been a Doug Mcclure fan. He was my favorite on The Virginian. I agree with the real effects. They are so much more real to me than CGI. CGI has ruined movies for me along with the filth and profanity.
Agree on the CGI. Disagree on the filth and profanity you fucking twat.
02:07 About to play that queen. Chesstopus.
That submarine was on ebay when I first joined many years ago. The seller wanted either 14 or 17k, (I forget which).
Your kidding
@@Ruben901 No. It was in the UK. Rusted to hell but would have been great in the garden. £14000 I think it was.
It’s on Tubi!
Heck to the Yeah!!! This is the only Doug McClure movie I missed. I blame Star Wars.
first saw it at the cinema when I was nine.Shit my pants.Remember cowering behind the seat in the row in front of me.
Enjoyed this on Cable from 1978 onward.
Good fun
This scared me to death at Purley cinema in 1978...those soldiers silvery masks were a pretty cool idea.
Wuss
Saw it once on tv, about 1980.
Peter Gilmore R.I.P.
they totally need to do a movie anniversary of clay stop motion monster movies they're just too good :p
this was one of the first films I saw at the cinema as a kid, there was another one but I forget the name of now :(
I seem to remember this being a lot better as a kid. LOL! Maybe they should remake it.
On a par with The Lost Continent for madness
Where are you taking us? To cult classic paradise!
Seen it and liked it. Better than modern marvel superhero movies. Not so long and drawn out with pointless politics.
Michael Gothard for the win. Atlantis leader garb.
The fountain of life
?
And it would have come a lot sooner if Doug hadn't
saved him from drowning while filming this.
I would like to have this movie.
It's on Netflix now. Have you watched it?
back to memoreys at '' WIED L - GHASRI GOZO
@dtvidman2005 a giant octopus eh?!?! And we're not allowed to 'analyse' that...what a shame! :P
Lea Brodie was a dish.

@ILoveLogos75 I don't have any materials whatsoever from Mary Poppins
With all the shit that's being released on DVD & Blue-Ray these days, why isn't Warlords of Atlantis?
Its 2018 now and you still cant get this movie on blu ray.
Sony needs to get off their butts and release this on DVD or BRD in North America...
Its on dvd now. Still no blu ray though, in 2018.
Ovishar Haller cinema coming soon at ovishar hall hatkhola road tikatuli Dhaka and naz hall wayge gate dhaka
I never liked the placoderm that pops up into the bell, I think it looks like a mentalistic version of Grover from Sesame street. Nothing like Dunkleosteus, an ACTUAL placoderm.
Least needed info: this creature you are talking about was never ment to be a dunkleosteus, while it has four limbs. Seems more like a plesiosaurida to me,.
Where can I wach this movie online for free?
It's on Netflix now.
FTLOG where is the R1 release on DVD
that's a very good question ..i wish i knew who to ask for its us release. So for right now its the region 2 pal release
Link please 😉
In Russian I can download without problems. I am looking in English.
Just waiting for Tom Baker's fourth Doctor to show up in the TARDIS and save the day
Awesome sci-fi/fantasy movie. A definite cult classic. Sci-fi today is garbage. So are horror movies. cgi definitely ruined horror movies.
looks like tokusatsu
This looks way too much like At the Earth's Core, complete with Mr. Mclure.
S1500 i noticed the same thing
similar also to The Land That Time Forgot with Mclure

Doug McClure. Peter 'Onedin Line' Gilmore. Cyd 'No Really It Is Her' Charisse. Plus, the bloke who played the boring postman in Cheers! And a wjhole bunch o' monsters. This is for me a tremendous movie without actually being in any way a good one. Go figure.

Disappointing movie, especially for having such a cool title.
Saw this for my 14th birthday at the Rio Cinema in Bearsden. The special effects look very dated now and the whole film is a bit cheesy by today's standards. Give me The Pirates of the Caribbean any day.
LOL!
Hahahahahahahaah
Mir film disdubodars
Let me tell you about that warlord of Atlantis, I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. It.
