    Can you do a video how to get rid of the connector that automatically engages the safety when you close the barrel?

  • @adelarsen9776
    @adelarsen9776 4 роки тому +1

    1) Let's be real here. With 3 intruders and 2 shots, the 3rd guy isn't going to hang around.
    2) The Baikal Hammer Coach gun is a very safe, reliable and accurate tool for close in work.
    3) Having a safety-on-lock is the way the gun was designed so that when a shot is taken it is purposeful. The gun just can't be dropped or left unattended and go off. It's got 3 steps to ensure that a discharge is intended.
    4) Nothing says "Get off my land" better than a side by side hammer gun.
    5) What's more dangerous ? A criminal with a Glock or a farmer with a coach gun ? You get my point.....
    6) The Baikal Mk43 KH Coach is pretty unbeatable but any Baikal is excellent. Great video.
    And remember, Always be wary of the man with only one gun, for he probably knows how to use it. Enjoy your Baikal :-)

      It's not my choice for defense but I understand your point. Use what's comfortable for you. I prefer it as a fun range shotgun. This makes me want to take it out again

    • @adelarsen9776
      @adelarsen9776 4 роки тому

      Yes, it's not my first choice but it is fun. You wouldn't be under-gunned if you had to rely on a Baikal. It'd service your needs should the time come.

    I was surprised to find that the "hammers" were just cocking levers, but it's a minor detail for me. I agree with both your complaint and assessment of their utility.

    I watched a lot of videos on the shotgun and a lot of reviews because I do own one myself and I love mine. It is the same exact one is this one. It is izh-43 K. It is totally an awesome gun! However I will have to say this is the best video so far that I have seen a lot of detail and a lot of explanation of the gun thank you

    I have a Toz 63 16 gauge hammer gun often called a Baikal in the UK I also had the Toz 66 12 gauge, they have real side plate actions and real hammers, they are made in Tula Russia and were imported to the UK and sold as Baikal. They are robust and built to last as they are used all over Russia for hunting. Maybe not as pretty as the Bounty Hunter but I Iove mine.

    This was the first gun I ever bought. I have the hammerless version. Paid $160 for it over 20 years ago. Kicking off both barrels at the same time with some high brass buckshot is fun but punishing. I still have it. The only rust issue I've had is on the outside of the trigger guard, but a light oil every now and then in the colorado air keeps any corrosion at bay.

    Absolutely. Excellent gun for home protection, particularly with the shorter barrels. And as others have said, if there are more than two intruders, they are long gone by the time the first two go down.

    I still use one, because it's easier to get hands on one of those in europe then like an AR15

    My local pawn shop just got one in. Such a beautiful shotgun in person. Adding it to the collection tomorrow! Definitely plan on using for home defense.

    For home/camp defence? Sure, why not? I wouldn't feel under gunned although I don't use one for that. I used to have a Baikal very similar to yours and like an idiot sold it long ago but I always have had a soft spot for side by sides.

    I have a lot of guns and I also happen to have that exact same one. When it comes to home protection you can't beat that gun. You're thinking about it all wrong. You are loading it with bird shot. I loaded with buckshot. When you pull both triggers at one time. That is like shooting 28 38special bullets at them at once. I can definitely hit three people with one barrel. And take them right out of the game. Up close at, like ten feet away, both of barrels with buckshot will cut a person in half.

    I would most definitely pick it for home protection. Yes you only have two shots if there's three Intruders after the third intruder sees what happens to the first two I believe he will leave peacefully

    The gun is very safe the way they made the safety and cooking levers. Think about it, you could keep it in bed with you under the pillow try that with a revolver

  • @kpasa111
    @kpasa111 3 роки тому

    It appeared that you are having some kind of a problem when you swing the "un-breach" lever and pull the barrels down....they seem to be hanging up momentarily. Something needs adjusting or greasing or polishing there. It doesn't cock on opening so the opening should be silky smooth. You seemed to be fighting it about half the time.

    Excellent choice for home defense. When those other home intruders see the guy up fronts leg disappear in a cloud of pink mist... they'll turn around to run before he hits the ground. They won't care where it came from or what it was shot from. Their next thought is gonna be saving their own legs 🤣 Love a good Coach Gun. Great review, thanks 👍

    About your "1 complaint about this shotgun"... Are you sure those are cocking levers and not external hammers?
    I have a very similar shotgun as yours. It's a Baikal IJ 43 with external hammers. But my side plates are not decorated like yours.
    What I wanted to say is that if I don't press the trigger, the hammer does not go up to the firing pin. It stops before. This is a kind of safety actually. It ensures that if your shotgun it loaded and you accidentally hit the hammer, it won't fire (because you did not pull the trigger at the same time you accidentally hit the hammer).
    So try to pull the trigger and then push the hammer and I think it should hit the firing pin.
    I do love my Baikal too. It's the first 12 gauge shotgun that I bought.
    Having to cock the hammers is slower than if the hammers were internal and automatically cocked at gun opening, but you can cock both of them at the same time. If you look for T Bone Dooley videos on You Tube or cowboy action shooting you will see that with some training you can really reload fast.
    It's simpler than a pump or automatic shotgun and thus more reliable.
    You can have your shotgun loaded and with hammers de-cocked it's still quite safe. And in 1 second you cock both hammers and are ready to shoot. Even if you get 3 intruders in your home they will all run away when they see you aiming right at their face. And if you have to shoot one the 2 others won't bet on who's gonna be next. They'll run

      @adelarsen9776 4 роки тому

      Hi Thierry,
      The Baikal 43 series have 2 options for the hammers.
      One is as seen here in this video and it's called a cocking lever.
      The other kind is an actual hammer lever which falls forward onto a firing pin.
      The safety-on-lock feature is designed so that the firearm is only discharged when it is intended. Having a 3 stage system is ultra safe.
