- Stephen Armstrong, the current U.S. Senator, is the patron of World Marshal Inc., its de facto CEO, and its most powerful warrior.
An extremely nationalist, patriotic, and libertarian personality, Armstrong often expressed a desire to "reclaim the American dream" by instigating another American revolution after the Liquid Ocelot uprising and the actions of patriots that weakened America. Members of the government suspected Armstrong in connection with the Desperado Enforcement, but could not provide the necessary evidence.
Armstrong of course was a sponsor of Desperado, unofficially, of course. Officially, he came to inspect the laboratories of Desperado, for illegal actions.
When Raiden himself fought his way into World Marshal Inc., He learned that Armstrong was planning a new war.
Armstrong himself secretly went to Pakistan to kill the current US President Hamilton and frame Desperado. But the plans changed, as the best fighters of Desperado Enforcement referred to as "winds of destruction" were unable to stop Raiden. Instead, Armstrong made sure that all the military personnel at the air base were killed by Pakistani extremists, and the photo materials were distributed online.
Faced face to face, Armstrong decided to personally eliminate Raiden, as he was the only one who could reveal the truth about what happened.

At 35:14, with the sun behind him and Armstrong laying directly infront of him, it's almost as if Raiden's "shadow" is Armstrong. I'm not bright enough to define this shadow as there could be a million meanings behind it.
Brilliant directing and overall composition, this game had so much love put into its creation.

Everyone has their opinion, Armstrong and Raiden share almost the same ideas, except that Armstrong prefers to prepare strong people for war since it is the nature of human beings, while Raiden prefers to defend the "weak" ones. After Raiden finished off Armstrong, Raiden decided to open The eyes showing that no one was wrong about their ideas, Raiden understood that it does not matter if he kills people to end wars, there will always be conflicts.
yeah, in the last scene raiden says exactly what armstrong said about fighting for unknown causes, meaning armstrong's legacy actually will linger on through jack as he said. that's also why in the song you can hear "i think we'll both agree"

13:15 this scene is my favorite because throughout the entire game raiden was constantly having close calls with his metal chin saving him. This was the first time he actually fully dodge an attack to his head without his chin getting scratch and he decides to praise himself in the middle of an active fight and gets punched in the jaw.

@@jaoofy You cannot attack him anywhere (except his back) while he is recovering, when you attack using Strong Attack, Raiden's first move will be swinging his sword slightly upwards and if you are lucky enough, it will break his back
I did 798 hit combo and got no dmg S rank and 10200 points on senator on revengeance difficulty with my tactic B)
A strong attack is not the only option, you can also use a light attack, Raiden just needs to do the light attack that preforms a diagonal slash to the upper left while kneeling.But tbh, any attack can work, it just needs to be preformed by the right angle and on the right spot, it needs quite a lot of practice, but i believe that it Is worth it.

this is one of the best games that has ever been released, the music, the combat, the characters, all of it are unparalleled. i can only pray for a sequel or something like it gets released again.

I love how the second Armstrong said I have a dream, the whole tone of the fight changed, he’s not just some “blood for oil” douchebag, he legitimately stands for something, the ends may not justify the means but you have no choice but to respect him, even if you definitely still have to kill him.

(Editing cos I forgot some stuff) Yeah I mean I first heard about this game from my brother and he made Armstrong out to be doing it all for laughs then I played the game and really thought about it and yeah he really does stand for something, sure it’s very from from okay but he wanted something for Americans and his ‘dream’ isn’t a bad idea for some cases but then you realise it’s a bit to close to literal public endorsement for genocide upon others and it all comes down. Although we all have our dreams about how society works, when I first saw Armstrong’s monologue I thought if raiden gave it a chance it could’ve worked out with how raiden could’ve had ideas to make Armstrong kinda dial it back if he trusted him enough. Armstrong clearly trusted raiden from him simply fake talking Armstrong into getting close, it’s obvious Armstrong trusted him enough through 1 sentence and with how the MG universe’s America was going it wasn’t that bad of a thought. I mean had America in this universe been transformed to what Armstrong saw people could’ve mad the MG America great for others.

I knew that this Playthrough would make me Realize quite a few Problems I made when I fought the Metal Gear and then Armstrong. But this. It didn't just point out the Few.
