As an Imam now, I had a story when I was reading Surat Ya-Sin during Taraweeh when I was young. I was just saying one ayat then I took a break for 3 seconds because I was running out of breath. Straight away, somebody in the back shouts "'ALA SIRATIM MUSTAQIIM!" It scared me and I forgot the rest of the Surat so I had to go into ruku. I had to read from another Surat hesitantly.
any tips on how to overcome nervousness when become imam? especially when there's so many people in the mosque. i was so nervous that i forget even short surah

Types of Mistakes : Mandatory to be corrected : Mistakes in Al-Fatiha like skipping an Ayah or changing the meaning, or changing the meaning to the opposite in any other Surah. Mistakes that are better to be corrected : Changing the meaning in an Ayah but not in a way that changes it to the opposite. Like swapping synonyms, changing word order, etc. Mistakes that are prohibited to be corrected : minor mistakes like Tajweed, Qalqala, etc. 1. Make sure you have the right intention. Which is for the sake of Allah عز وجل. 2. Only correct if you're both 100% sure the Imam did a mistake and 100% sure of the correction. 3. Wait for the Imam to correct himself. 4. Wait for the corrector to correct first. 5. If you're too far from the Imam, stay silent. 6. Wait fot the Imam to pause. 7. Only correct if the Imam didn't already do Ruku'. Never forget to say Subhana Allah, walhamdulillah, wala ilaha illa (A)llah, wa (A)llah-u Akbar, wala hawla wala quwwata illa bi(A)llah. اللهم صل وسلم على محمد وعلى آله وصحبه ❤🌹

The Prophet, peace and blessings bs upon him, would say before prayer to the people behind him, "ليلني منكم أولوا الأحلام والنهى", meaning, "let those of endurance and sound mind stand behind me". This ensures that behind the Imam is someone who would be wise and well-intentioned in the way of correction, and also that, should the Imam be unable to continue the prayer, that the person behind him would be able to smoothly replace him and continue, rather than having someone who was perhaps not paying attention or who wouldn't be able to continue the recitation.
Just to mention a couple of points to bring what the Brother said home. 1. This is especially an issue in Teraweeh. Everyone is understandably tired because we're staying up for long hours of the night. So 15 or 20 people correcting the Imam is kind of annoying. 2. Most likely the Imam already has huffad who have memorized the Qur'an and know it way better than many of these Brothers who are making the correction, though may Allah reward them for their efforts, of course. I say this from experience, because the Imam of my local Masjid raised the same issue last Ramadan.
Yeah, there’s usually someone who’s behind the imam who corrects and usually knows what to correct. In our Masjid we have two people who switch during Tahajud
15 to 20 people correcting?? That's a very good locality!! Although they need to learn etiquettes. In our masjid, imam gets away with whatever mistakes and no one corrects him😢😢
@@abubakarminshawy9690 Its a phrase!! The imam is a good man. I don't mean any bad!! Gets away is also used on a kid who is not scolded much. Doesn't mean the kid is a criminal!!

It can get a bit annoying in big mosques where hundreds or thousands attend because you would have many people who caught the mistake and want to correct it. In such big Mosques there is a Hafiz literally behind the Imam already...

A good example of a mistake in Al Fatiha is in the ayah: iyyaka na'budu... People sometimes forget to press the ya in the word iyyaka, so if you dont press it, you completely change the meaning into a shirk statement. Very important to correct that.
