Adam Granger I'm so sorry for your loss. My wife lost her mother to cancer in 2009, Christmas day--and you're right, it IS horrific. People need to be aware of what's going on in their bodies and be proactive. (Not saying to be paranoid, just be up on check-ups, etc.) My own mother just went through a cancer scare herself, and fortunately she's doing all right--but man, the day that cancer is completely eradicated (and NO ONE suffers from it anymore) will be such a great day. My best to you and your family.
I know this comment is really old but I felt I should post a reply to your comment. I'm very sorry for your loss losing your mother is awful the pain never really goes away. My mother had cancer as well and I saw her suffer for years until it finally took her. You never stop missing her either so I understand completely I hate cancer!! I hope I don't get it too but it's a higher risk if one of your parents had it. But I am truly sorry for your loss

I am a survivor myself and I was fortunate to respond very well to the Chemo and was able to push thru with the love of my life, who supported me 100%. I believe it all has to do with your state of mind. I was newly in love when I received the terrible cancer news. So I decided for myself - THIS WILL NOT HOLD ME DOWN. I believe, that is the key to a successfully therapy besides early detection of the tumor. Positive energy and luck, luck, luck. If you are watching this now and have an estrogen based invasive cancer-please get surgery and do the chemo and radiation right way, don’t wait -and take the inhibitor pill for 7 years after so the cancer does not come back.

i lost a couple of friend from cancer....was really shock cause i haven seen her for so long and when we get the chance to get together she ask me to go and see her doctor for her last check up ...she told me she was cleared...we went to her doctor and her doctor even congratulate her for surviving it...was realky happy. but then the unexpected happen,i was told that she passed away cause i haven seen her after the check up...its a puzzle to me until now...why she was taken away after they said shes already cleared.

What’s the name of that doctor? My mom battled with cancer pretty much my whole life. Not just breast cancer which she had when she was 27. Long before by brother, sister, and I were born. I’ve been told that although I don’t have the breast cancer gene, my life chances of getting cancer are 31%.

This is terrible advice. The first treatment you get for cancer Is your best shot. Changing therapies once you start greatly decreases your chances of survival.

My friend got detected in her first mammography, they told her they needed to remove her breast so before the surgery they did a couple more tests done to see how she was evolving and they found cancer in her other breast, in a matter of weeks, she didn't have cancer in her left breast before but by the time she was ready for the first surgery it had develop and big time. It's better to prevent this from happening because once you have gone thru the treatment your body becomes resistant to treatment and it becomes harder to fight
