I saw a report in 2009 that as of fall of that year was the point at which there became more people in the US living in cities vs. rural areas. I see all these negative comments everytime I watch a trapping or hunting video. You city people just dont get it you beleive that in 2011 there is no need to harvest wild animals anymore. If anything there is more need because there is less habitat. Most hunters, fishermen, trappers are extremely pro wildlife management and hate poachers with a passion
For all that would like to know what my trapping is like, buy my trapping videos. They are professionally done and show "Just how it actually is". No put on's or scripts. You see it as it actually happens . The camera shows every catch I made in for days in "trappintales". "Catching the Numbers" is more instructional. They both depict trapping and life as it is and not as some want to portray. They explain why we have a great need for trapping and the taking of animals. So visit "Advanced Trap"
The farm where it was caught has had a low deer, quail, rabbit, turkey, and duck nesting hatch due to an overpopulation of predators. ( caused from past non trapping). The owner likes the deer, quail, rabbits and birds over the predators. The owner also is a state biologist who resides in Florida, Where studies have shown an 18% reduction in fawns due to the bobcat.on a yearly basis. You release it and create a problem for somebody else. They are everywhere here. Lots of them.
@walk4trot2canter3 It is a regulation to carry a 22 cal. firearm in Ga. when trapping. I abide by the law. I have never witnessed abuse or dreamed it existed the way you have described, in another country, here. Also, I know from personal experience the threat animals like this bobcat can be to livestock. I just sent one of the live cage traps Advanced Trap makes, to a farmer in Texas, to catch bobcats he has seen killing his baby goats. The trap looks like this one , but is easier to use.
@walk4trot2canter3 Both of my videos,"Catching the Numbers" and "Trappintales" shows and explains. You might purchase one or both if your that interested. When I was a teenager I watched a farmer treat a cow at the time I thought, harshly. It wasn't until I had my own cows many years later did I understand why he handled the animals the way that he did. Had I never owned cattle, I would never have the respect for them and their lives as I do now, nor know how to handle them.
a special place in my heart for the Tiger Refuge International Fund as well as the Fossey Gorllia International fund. I would never hunt or harvest an endangered species, but there is nothing wrong with harvesting animals that are not only not anywhere near endangered but are reaching levels of out of control. Find and talk to one of us conservative gun freaks like a fly fisherman who 9 outa 10 belongs to trout unlimited what he thinks about inpoundment or keeping river water clean. Or a hunter
WE didn't get much this last year? The economy is too bad. We catch them to test the new cage traps and to keep them from killing our fawns, rabbits, and quail. Past studies in Florida shows the killing of an estimated 18% of the deer fawn crop. We don't have a high deer population close to my home. We started a predator trapping program 3 1/2 yrs ago and we can tell a big change. We can see deer now !
700 million a year in hunting, trapping, and fishing licenses goes to wildlife mangement, approx another 300million is donated by those hunters, trappers, and fishermen to organizations that protect habitat and fight for wildlife. Since the inception of the Federal excise tax on all hunting products that money has created a million acres of new wildlife habitat in the USA. Last year as a sportsman I at least a 1000 dollars of my money went to US wildlife and I also have....
@walk4trot2canter3 Each state has its rules and laws. Some are more regulated than others. My opinion is that the more regulation is not best. Almost all of the trappers that catch 99% of the animals will use the quickest method, it's just best. Same in the farm animal industry. If you think about it, it even goes for humans. There are exceptions, that is why we have prisons, and why we still have executions. Unless one raises animals as a family farm or traps, they will never understand.
in colorado about protecting elk habitat and keeping public lands open and free from development, he'll probably be a member of the hunter started Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. We love to hunt, fish, and trap why because we are gun loving country conservative people do city people think that we are just a bunch of stupid beer guzzling hicks out to kill everthing we can. We are not stupid we want wildlife to flourish. If it didnt we would have anything to hunt, fish, or trap.
@josevanreyes in the case of bob cats i will not eat them but i will hunt them to protect livestock and in that case i will have them stuffed so there beauty can live on forever (even if some find it tacky)
continued...and we know that without harvesting animals they would over populate and decimate another speicies and eventual mother nature would turn on the original species and decimate them with disease and starvation and then you would have major loss of both. Wildlife controls are in place and closely monitered to keep any one species form being over harvested. We support our game wardens and state agencies 100% for stopping abuse and poachers and report them anytime we see them.
@DJxSGGxNeo It is against the law here to relocate them, There are so many. It was on a Biologist"s farm that was having predator problems. The were eating the new borns in the spring.
i was hunting with my dad last season for deer and were up in our stand and theres an old wooden stand thats next to it and a bobcat sits up there and hunts and it started growling at us i was going to shoot it then a deer walked out and i missed
@walk4trot2canter3 The most understanding people of the value of human and animal life, I have ever met, have been trappers, hunters, and farmers. They know death is final, so any life is more cherished by them. Most live by christian principles that put a premium on "all" life.We believe as christians, in the preservation of life for the benifit of God and man.For you to try to make any other thought or impose any other description, shows "Your" charactor and belief not theirs or mine.
@kirkdekalb O, I was just thinking how someone would be able to let that thing go free without it killing them lol.... I would of straight up shot that sucker.... thumbs up....
i don't believe in eatin these, or any other cat. i'll eat anything but a cat. and if your gonna kill the damn thing atleast trap it like this instead of splintering its leg with a jaw trap.
