i definitely need a Kabal. Hopefully future releases will have some hands options. No fists, martial arts, or ice ball hands is disappointing. I can only imagine how awesome a Spawn figure would be with this articulation. I'm sure the cape situation is holding them back. They're need a full deluxe release for the cape alone.
I wanna be like you one day. I’m 14 and I want a mortal kombat kinda themed game room as my room. I want a built in shelf that’s kinda in the air so I can put mortal kombat figures
Good review man. And I agree that this version of Sub Zero does have that Shredder vibe to it. But still not too similar to the point that he looks too ' shreddy' (if that makes sense) as I can see that it still maintains a lot of that Sub Zero features and characteristics on him.
GREAT video Bro. I saw The Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero Action Figure today. I was a little hesitant to BUY this Action Figure. But NOW It seems like I might have to go back to GAME STOP. And cop me a CRAZY but YET a SERIOUS looking Action Figure. And I HOPE McFarlane Toys make a SERIOUS Mortal Kombat's Scorpion Action Figure. That would be FIRE.
Then ankles were kinda crazy.... you can spin the ankle joint till you find just the right ankle bend to stand in great poses... it rocks back and forth but if you twist the joint you get a better angle to make into great fighting poses
Great review UU! I feel like the newer MK designs are way to busy. My favorite looks were the ones from the first 3 games. After that the designs just had way to much going on, lol. Would really like to see the range of the torso w/o the tunic. Keep up the great reviews!
Finally! About time McFarlane does better articulation. It is much better than what it used to be. His 7 inch walking dead figures were horrible, articulation wise. So if the DC figures are like this, I'm excited! Great review! I want this now lol.
Additional hands closed fist and power hands freeze blast are needed. Other than that it’s a good figure. If the DC line is the same as these I’ll be a happy camper.
My favorite design for him is i think from part 8? When he had fur on his collar and sort of a ghengis kahn thing going on. fun fact: sub zeros is (probably) Chinese and is lin kwei and scorpion is Japanese and is the actual "ninja"
There is one problem with the chest V neck part . In all promo pics the chest V neck is all white. Out of package it’s half white half blank. Feel free to take a look at the box it even shows all white.
You kids today... sheesh. In the early aughts, McFarlane toys were the industry leader in articulation. The same year Toy Biz debuted Marvel Legends, 2002, Todd unleashed the 10th anniversary Spawn, a figure so well articulated, it outclasses Fortnite, Mythic Legions, DC Essentials, and still, even with all of the improvements made to Legends since, gets better range and posability than 80th anniversary Cap or Pizza Spidey. Their Dark Ages and Viking lines debuted intricate, flexible overlays to hide elaborate and often non-traditional articulation that again, no one has topped to date. At the time, the industry, and us, were looking for better sculpts and less articulation, so Todd moved into more statuesque figures and NECA and Mezco followed suit later, only getting back into articulation much later. But take a look at the Halo products McF produced, a lot of misses there, but a few genuinely great looking figures with very nice articulation on par with DCUC or Legends at the time. This modern push by McFarlane Toys isn't them getting into articulation, it's them returning to it, and if their past is any indication, strap in, cuz they're going to industry leading again in the next couple years. The figures they're producing now will look primitive by comparison. Some dip in the comments said something trite about it taking 30 years to get removable weapons, I'm telling you I suspect in the next 4, you'll be getting face plates, hands, armor, weapons, outfits overlays, and stands as standard features, along with new articulation points that will out pose anything Hasbro is doing now. Like that mid torso, we're still in that system's infancy, so today, it flexes, but it's not a great range of motion. I would not be surprised if Todd debuts on the next Spawn figure an interior spine with 6 points of articulation and full ball joint in the pelvis so the figure can pose with his knees up by his ears.
Great review, dig your enthusiasm, I personally would have liked the MK11 ninja designs better without the extras and armoured plates. This articulation from McFarlane makes me want to pick this up Unrelatedly is anyone seeing the Joker movie this weekend?
If the your axes are warped ... soak them in hot water then straighten them out ... as you hold them straight run the axes under cold water and they will stay straight....
Nice review. These figures have my attention. I do wish he came with some interchangeable hands and an alternate unmasked head. But I get that the price point is restrictive. I hope we get a Liu Kang and Kitana. Hope their DC figures are up to this standard.
