The Beatles - Get Back Sessions - Across the Universe - 07 Jan 1969

This was a song the Beatles had recorded in February 1968 at EMI but left unreleased, and John considered resurrecting it for lack of new material, but it didn’t go much of anywhere. This is one of the better of the handful of performances. John’s response to the “Nothing’s gonna change my world” chorus the first time through (”I wish it fuckin’ would!”) is indicative of his thoughts on the song, and the sessions, but it‘s been edited out here, to make for better repeat listening.
