We spent 4 nights in Los Angeles, California over the May long weekend. We were there for the wedding of our good friends Hilary and Billy, but we stayed for a couple of extra days to tour around the city and to do a bit of trail running on the edge of town.

Personally I would love a video about your day-to-day life. How do you and Audrée balance your training, social life and work daily? Big ultras and achievements aside, what does a normal Jeff Pelletier day look like? That'd be fun to watch tbh. I feel like we'd get to know you better. Cheers Jeff, awesome video as always.
Hah, I feel like the only thing you’re not seeing is the time I spend alone in my edit suite 😂. But that’s a great suggestion, we’ll aim to do something like that in the fall once we’re back from our travels!
Maybe a time lapse edit short 😮
Love when audree got out of that mustang convertible 😂😂
It's fun seeing you both experience the LA trails that I've come to love. Also, we are soo happy you were part of our wedding weekend, love you both!
Hilary congratulations to you and Billy on your wedding 🎉🎉. It was lovely to get a glimpse of your day- you looked very beautiful and Billy very handsome in a suit. Miss your videos🤗🤗🤗
As an urban planner who is also a fan of yours, it just warmed my heart to hear your urban commentary on some of LA's land use and transportation challenges 😉
Your friends had a pre-wedding trail run... Damn, life goals right there!
Wow. Least expected: Seeing Billy & Hillary's wedding. What a surprise. Also, it's good to see all the elite runners' gathering for the wedding. A close-knit community. Thank you so much.
I wonder if Jeff in the future will be involved with the growing ultra-marathon media landscape, specifically as it relates to race coverage, and I dont mean as just a youtuber.
I’m so excited about the fell running journey
I knew there would be Jeff + Charlie Salami content 🙌🏻
He’s gotten so big since I last saw him!
Going to be strange seeing you in the Lakes.. so used to seeing all those far away places, and you’ll be somewhere I’ve been.
Looking forward to seeing your visit to the UK! 🇬🇧
The touch on urban planning in the middle of this video was so welcoming to hear. It's so often overlooked when discussing places like LA and it's what got me interested in building better urban places from channels like NotJustBikes, CityNerd, and RMTransit.
Really enjoyed getting a peak back into the training blocks as well as what gear choices you've been finding fit best this season. Excited for the next one and can't wait to hear about your trip to on the Bob Graham round!
Hey Jeff! Just wanted to say thank you for all the inspiration and information you put out there. You have really taught me about the importance of focusing on enjoying every mile out in the tracks (suffering in beautiful places!) and my performance has improved because of it. Before I would forget to appreciate the process of this sport but now I am really remembering to enjoy it out there. Keep up the awesome work!
Best feedback I could receive, thank you!
welcome to CA, come back soon :)
Love your guys’ primary colour outfits!
Oh my god COURTNEY?!
Wow, amazing, thanks for sharing with us, good luck 🙂
You’ll love The Lakes Jeff. Looking forward to your take on one of our favourite places!
Great video as always. Cheers 👍🏻 🇬🇧
Never seen those belts before, very cool!
Great episode. "problem with the car rental"... yeah sure 😂. Cant wait for the next ep.
Can’t wait to see your Lake District training
Oooh, the Bob Graham Round - that will be interesting for those of us following along from home.
Thanks for sharing!
Enjoying every bit of this. Regards from Oman 🇴🇲
I got me a pair of S/Lab ultra 3 and they just feel great, roomy in the front and just fitting perfectly like a sock. Also the ground feel is great and the "big" drop of 9mm doesn´t feel to be that high.
The gondola situation sounds ideal- I love hill reps but the downhill always sucks after a couple of summits!
Great video as usual Jeff. Always an interesting insight into what it takes to do the amazing events you run. I try to incorporate some of your tempo session ideas into my own running. I used to live just outside Keswick so very much looking forward to seeing how you find the Lake District and tackle the Bob Graham Round; a run that is still only an aspiration for me having only just done my first ultra. I used work with I older guy who’d done the Bob Graham years ago. He said he stopped for a “chip buttie” at Dunmail Rise and that was it! Suspect your nutrition planning will be a bit more involved. Keep up the great work.
Omygoodness my area. Thank you for sharing
Hey Jeff, love your videos. Hey, ever thought about doing the Cape Wrath Ultra in Scotland? Looks like an amazing race potentially right up your alley... :)
Definitely, that one is on the list! I’m hoping to make it to Scotland in the next couple of years.
It would be nice to cross paths in SoCal - I could take you to some of my favorite places. Ahh well. Back in Vancouver for a few days this week.
Great video - so much to share.
Too bad it didn’t work out this time! Missed you by a day.
Mtn Bike these trails all every weekend
Really loving these training videos, keep up the good work! I watched your review of the s/lab genesis and noticed in these more recent videos you’re preferring the s/lab ultra 3 (v2?). Can you do a comparison of the two? I’m trying to decide between these two shoes for longer trail runs. Thanks!!
Thanks! Yes, the Slab Ultra 3 have really grown on me. I’m still debating which of the two to use for Moab 240, but I’ll likely switch between both
Have you experimented with excentric intervals yet? (20-30 s at RPE 8-10 followed by 5-6 min at RPE ~7)
Jeff! Appreciate your content and storytelling - enjoying it all the time from Georgia.
I have a question: as a Canadian - what do you think of Norda?
I haven’t tried them myself but they’re definitely popular here in Vancouver.
Something that I thought about generally in your videos, I am subscribed and I do pop by to watch your videos from time to time as I enjoy the variety and the information a lot :)
The only (which likely feels like a very big portion of you) thing that sort of makes me hesitate is the robotic way you deliver it, it feels very "I - am - reading - off - a - telepromter"-esque. It might just be me, and if so and your data is great, please do ignore me. But it takes me out of the immersion of the video, when you are talking freeling "onsite" it feels great and I enjoy it, when you are in the "studio" I struggle a bit and thats where I am more likely to click off. I am not a great speaker myself, and I know my delivery can be part of the issue (not referring to my tiny channel, where I rarely talk).
Keep up the good work! Hopefully this comment doesnt ruin your day
I appreciate the feedback! I do script everything and read from a teleprompter for this type of video, but perhaps my delivery still needs some work.
I tried a pair of salomons speed cross on today but I felt a bit restricted due to a wider foot width. What does salomon offer for a wider foot that might be more suitable?
Are you ever scared of running into bears? How do you handle it if you do?
Any group runs planned in the Lakes? It's the *best*.
I’d love to organize a group run (followed by a pint).
@@JeffPelletier Following! 😄
Hi Jeff, any chance to get your gpx files from LA trails? We are two girls from Switzerland, thinking about going to California for 2-3 weeks in winter.
Would really appreciate if you could contact me 😊
Will you have a tracker in for your Bob Graham attempt?
Do you mean a GPS tracker?
@@JeffPelletier yes, open tracking in the UK will setup a page for your attempt and rent you a tracker for your adoring fans to follow you
Great to know, thanks! I have an inReach Mini as well that I could use, but I’ll consider that option.
@@JeffPelletier I can second this recommendation - I've lost more hours than I'd like to admit following dots on Open Tracking's pages...
How do you wash your pack?
With a side-loading washing machine, you can just throw it in and wash on cold with your other synthetics. In a top-loading washer you should put it in a mesh bag so it doesn’t snag on the agitator.
Thank you@@JeffPelletier
Wait!!! You did a group run with Courtney Dauwalter, and didn't even introduce or talk with her on camera?!?
I’m saving that cameo for a future video 😉
