Happy New Year! Actually in never though about a bike roundtrip in Okinawa, but it absolutly makes sense! Thank you for the inspiration and very nice vlog!
Hey thanks so much for watching. Yea the aquarium is amazing indeed and can feel the sea creatures seem pretty happy and well taken care of. Always an accomplishment to put together the entire gps data forming the outline of the island :)
Such a lovely happy video!!! Cycling + tourist around Okinawa 🏝️ And thanks for inspiring us with your perseverance 🌧️💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 amidst the rain and tsunami/landslide warnings ‼️😮 Haha BLUE SEAL ice-cream! 👍🏼👍🏼🍦🍦 And aquarium is so pretty!
Hi what a fantastic video! Exactly what I was looking for. Am planning to visit Okinawa next June with my B. All the additional info is very useful. May I ask why did you choose to do it clockwise?
@@staffphysicaleducationseet8350 thanks for checking out my Okinawa cycling vlog :) glad it is helpful in your planning. Driving in Okinawa is left side of road for slow vehicles. I want to keep as close to the sea coast whenever I can to take photos/videos. This will be more obvious when in North eastern Okinawa where there can be no pavement and cycling mainly on roads. I enjoy the scenery better.
@aaronwende7 That's a good decision. Understand. I hope to be able to check in with along my planning process if possible. Although this video is a great help already.
@@staffphysicaleducationseet8350 some cyclists did ask me some valid questions and one of them is, I feel is good to bring along a Brompton cover bag. in my video, you will see the Brompton cover bag strapped just behind the saddle. it's a just in case if need to board some public transportation to get to a city.
is it because the jap transport system does not allow bikes without bags on board? At some pt of the video I can feel your sense of helplessness wrt to the weather conditions. I am glad you made it. I hope to complete the round.
@@KokWah-x2x Yes, it is related to bringing bikes into their public transport. In my previous travels in other parts of Japan, you need to cover up your folded Brompton to go up a train. Same goes for example, taking the high speed rail in Taiwan. So I thought I would bring the Brompton bike cover, just in case I needed to board a bus when things get tough. But yes, the moment I reached the northern tip of Okinawa, I was so tired. thankfully didn't activate the bike bag to board a bus at Cape Hedo and it was indeed rewarding to persevere through the ride safely. April is supposed to be a good time for cycling in Okinawa apparently.
@@EdwinLeong-l9l hey hi. Valid question. As long as it is not expressway (roads with toll charges). Have ridden inside such tunnels in many parts of Japan and Taiwan. But do exercise caution, some tunnels do have a wider pavement at the side. When roads are busy, I will use the pavement in the tunnel instead. In the video I just rode through some of the tunnels in north Okinawa as there ain't much vehicles.

www.naha-airport.co.jp/en/service/shipping/baggage/ Hands Free Baggage Storage Service located at the domestic airport area. as my Brompton soft bag is foldable, it falls within S (Under 119 cm)・・・\400yen per day.
@@Ataraxist what you are thinking is a good choice. Communicate this to the lodging you are planning to stay on your 1st and last day in Okinawa. Perhaps stay in Naha city and a lodging near the monorail. There is a monorail that links parts of Naha city to the airport.
My mobile data roaming is on, so I was on their Okinawa local network. As long as you have cellular network , they will definitely push out the tsunami warning to all in the affected area. Apparently it's pretty common in other parts of Japan as well, example earthquake warnings.
