This was really helpful and reassuring thanks! I am eloping in April and I’m super excited! One thing I worry about is how to announce it on Facebook afterwards. Although it’s not necessarily a secret, we have having our immediate families and bridal parties joining us, but for our distant relatives it will kind of be a surprise. So I was wondering if you had any advice as to how you announced your marriage afterwards? Hoping everyone will just be happy for us lol 😊
So glad it was helpful! 💕 Aww! Congratulations!! 💍😊 Pretty much everyone knew we were going to elope before we did it. We didn’t personally tell distant relatives, but they found out from other family members so it wasn’t a super big shock when we posted pictures afterwards. But as for announcing, all we did was post the pictures on Facebook and Instagram with the date we eloped as the caption. When talking to people after we eloped, most of them were most shocked about us not bringing anyone with us. But since you are bringing immediate family and bridal parties, I’m sure you won’t get that reaction. I know some people print save the date type cards with their elopement pictures but make them say “We Eloped!” to send to friends and family afterwards. Surely everyone will be happy for you guys! It’s your special day, not theirs, so it should be exactly how you want it to be! 💕
Looking to get engaged by the end of the year.. doing my research now. Thanks for the video, very helpful. Her and I agreed to look into eloping and this may be the way.
We got married at 6 p.m. so after the ceremony and pictures it was around 7 and we were starving!! So we went back to our hotel and changed and then went down to a place in Monterey called Cannery Row that had lots of shops and places to eat. We didn’t plan where we were going to eat before hand, we just went down there and found something. 😊 Some guy working at one of the shops asked us what brought us to town and we said, “Oh we just got married about an hour ago.” He looked at us like we were crazy. 🤣
I’m so glad the videos have been helpful to you! My husband and I have been married for almost 3 years now and we haven’t regretting eloping once! 🤍 Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help you in any way! ✨
Me and my wife eloped when we got married and we have absolutely no regrets about doing that. In our opinion big weddings 💒 are not about you and your partner their more about pleasing and satisfying all the guests and many of those guests you may not know that well if not at all I personally think big weddings are an expensive and overrated tradition.
I love this idea
Susan and I got hitched in Cook County Marriage Court ... just the two of us ... if we make it to November 7, it'll be 25 years.
That’s wonderful! 🤍
