After a couple of months I finally changed the pedal to high gain on the output side. Absolutely brilliant idea and sounds amazing. Very impressed with all of the Demonfx I have bought.
Mine just l arrived today and it's pretty awesome. There are so many different settings available! I have the input side set to boost with high gain and the output side set to overdrive with low gain. I'm loving it so far. It also stacks really well with my other drive pedals and effects. I wish that all of the big brand companies could/would offer stuff like this, at this price point. Best $58 I've spent on any piece of gear in my life. It's not even noisy 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah absolutely. There are great tones to be had here. Fantastic idea with three bigger brands too. If analogman had a "basics" range where they made something broadly similar but all CNC rather than hand made, no one would even take a second look at the cheap Chinese versions.
This is one of the "best" pedals I tried, however I sent it back because I am at the same point like you. In a full mix it doesn't matter: I have so mandy pedals but still use only the ones in the HX stomp.
I liked this pedal so much I have two. I found using it in the traditional boost / OD setup that proper KOTs ship with was best. Was also nice to find the dip switch settings work the exact same
Great review. I have the pedal for some time now and I really like it, I use both channels as overdrives, one like a booster with low gain and the other a lot more overdriven and I really like the versatility I have for what I play now mostly rock blues and hard rock
@BudgetPedalChap thanks. I'm just running through a green yamaha thr10x with no pedals. I don't know how it will take pedals but I am at the point where I just too to get a little more out of it.
@BudgetPedalChap they are really great but I can't get a classic blues tone out of it and the ceiling for a louder boost on the distortion is low. That's why I'm looking to boost it. Maybe a compression pedal is better over an OD
The real KoT has more variance in the tone control, can get quite a bit darker, also has more gain in the overdrive setting too. I think this has a harshness that the KoT doesn’t have as well. Not bad, just not the same.
@@modestoney1577but why buy this cheap pedal when you can wait for at least 5 years and pay 6 times more for the real thing? I’m joking, just in case that’s not clear 🙂.
Lmao probably 2-3 weeks while customs makes sure there isn't any Columbian marching powder in the case, then it's all yours. As opposed to 5-6 years for the OG.

Yeah, demon have a really solid line up and their pedals are a hit far more often than that are missing the mark 👍

I’m getting to that point in life where all drive pedals sound 95% the same, and there aren’t really any “bad” ones
Aye, we are living in the golden age of pedals for sure

I agree 100%
I'm there too. Love OD pedals and bought a ts9 first and after every new pedal, the ts9 always comes back out lol
@@scentia_est in a full mix/band setting there is only one thing that really matters: mids
Got mine yesterday. It really impressed me. Also going to grab the Gravity and 83 drive.
Some good choices there 👍

Yeah I found it was really nice pushing the two channels into each other. It's a very versatile drive and rewards dynamic playing 👍
That is right up my street, I like that tone
It's really impressive considering it's 58 quid 👍
Great demo of a very versatile pedal .well done 👍
Cheers gent. I was looking forward to giving this one a demo 👍

Yeah, it's perfect for that application isn't it? I really liked it for the low to mid gain blues tones too 👍
Will this go well with a high gain amp to play harder or is it more for cleaner tones and blues?
Yeah, it should work similar to a tube screamer in that sense. Could tighten up the bass response a bit and give it a bit of a push too.

@@chitownkid8716 I've heard good things about those Yamaha amps, I've yet to try one. Is it good?

Nice to know 👍 funnily enough the kot falls just outside of my budget pedal remit 🤣🤣
may very well be, but the differences are minute and the KoD is a killer pedal as it is

That’s just the 20% tolerance variance in the components.
Bloody good sounding this even if its not my shin dig
It's got some versatility to it eh?
How long is the waitlist bruh?
Which waitlist are you referring to?

two bluesbreakers together?
Yeah kinda. It's like modified blues breakers to have more gain and a slight difference to the voicing. Essentially, it does a similar thing though 👍
@@BudgetPedalChap like Joyo King of Tones
@@gabrielmusic108 yeah similar thing 👍
@@BudgetPedalChap thanks
I see no reason to wait for years and pay hundreds when I could just get it for a fraction of the price.
At very least, it's worth trying before you commit to the real thing 👍
