Highlights from NYC CERCA's Relaunch on May 10, 2024

Listen to NYC Coalition to End Racism in Clinical Algorithms (CERCA) members share the importance of CERCA's mission and its impact on NYC Black and Brown communities in addressing the harmful effects of race-based clinical algorithms. The objective of CERCA is to end the misuse of race in clinical algorithms, evaluate the impact on racial health inequities, and engage patients whose care has been negatively impacted by it in order to repair harm. CERCA is built on anti-racism scholarship, principles of health equity rooted in public health critical race praxis and utilizes a collective impact approach. CERCA convenes stakeholders across public health, health systems, clinical research, health informatics, and social sciences to promote a healthier and more just health care landscape in NYC.
