I've been missing you. "Ladies and gentlemen, Tactical Advance here!" That priceless opening line that welcomes me in like a friend inviting me in out of the cold. I hope you're well and healthy.
I love the ventilation system, not really from a functional viewpoint but more from a RP/look and feel viewpoint. This ship just makes you think of the millenium falcon from the asymmetric hull design to the secret vents and the look and feel in the cockpit and turrets.
The elevator is needed, in my opinion, in order to get the pushcarts and diagnostic carts for example, up into the rest of the ship. Next, I am a two pillow man. Last, the maintenance corridors are the next incarnation of the Starfarer "Jefferies Tubes", my assumption (again) is that many of the relays described in recent ISC are going to be down there. Plus good way to sneak around when mostly AI (kinda for other players) board the ship. And I have had no problems moving down there in crouch mode. Great Job, as always, glad to see another review. You going to do vids on the IAE days?
I think it would've been interesting if you could opt to have the secret corridor or not to leave players guessing. I also think being able to choose from a large variety of different methods of how to enter the secret corridor would've been nice too, this way the ship is more personalized and harder for any players to guess if you did have it or not. Not sure how they'd implement that, but just a thought.
Its always nice to see your videos. You're actually the reason why I own the Cnstellation Andromeda. Stumbled across those videos of the rework 4 years ago. Great job please keep it up.
So glad you are back. Yes, it needs another hatch somewhere, Nav room needs the captain's bunk, Extra bathroom needs to be a standing med station. There is plenty of room downstairs for an armory as well, maybe next to a hatch? The lift is for heavy server equipment to be switched out.
While the secret corridors aren’t super effective against players, the amount of space they take up doesn’t seem to be tall enough to be used for much else. It may not be a very useful feature, but it isn’t a detriment.
They are meant to counter NPCs, not players. You won't be facing player cops, only NPC cops, and they won't necessarily know to check the compartments. And if it's a player coming to steal your stuff, you just blast them, since you didn't allow them to come aboard. Also, since you'll be able to lock doors, players will have a harder time getting into the secret compartment, since they'll have to slice through the doors. The secret cargo area is also senso proof
I think the whole locking, setting ship settings, and lights should all be able to be changed on a cool x-ray of your ship on the mobiglass. So you could like open it up quickly and turn on certain lights from anywhere or lock your ship from far away. Also I think the vent systems would be pretty cool because for example, you know someone’s boarding so you turn off the lights, go into the vents, grab a gun, and flank them as they go in.
25:39 There's a lot of unused space on the other side of that port wall. That's a good place to add a ship boarding elevator. If the doors are locked, intruders can't go anywhere.
I love the ship reviews, I don’t have a pc and can’t play the game but it’s always fun to see the ship interiors, gives me hope for the future of Elite Dangerous (which I can play)
In the future I think the point is to not let your ship get destroyed in the first place ;-) The situation we have now where you can just respawn your ship as often as you like will be going away eventually. With regard to the "hidden" passageways, I think focusing on the "hidden" aspect is a mistake. Sure, it may actually be "hidden" from the perspective of certain NPCs, so it may have some actual in-game value from that perspective, but even ignoring that the passageways still have value. They provide an alternative way to get around the ship which could become important in case of boarding or fire or loss of power. And there may eventually be components of the ship located down there that will require repair, so it can add to the engineering gameplay.
The red tunnels is were fuses will be for engineering to go fix. So part of the ship is not working, go in red tunnels to restore power to sections of the ship. The shielding is the black ⚫ area near the back secret compartment. Not the red tunnels. 9:00 The lift... for role-playing I guess is for bags 🎒 or provisioning. Do you want to walk up stairs or use an elevator to lift bags to the front area?
Hi man, it has two toilets already 😊 Regarding the tunnels look more at them as access, not as a secret. Like Jeffries tubes on the enterprise. Giving you alternative access to all areas in the event that one is blocked by damage or fire etc. My only issue with the ship is it only has one way in and out. There should be escape pods or at least an alternative hatch in the event you need to abandon the ship and the rear is damaged. This isn’t an issue yet but might be when we have limited character respawns
The toilets are also showers. It also has sleeping, loads of storage and food drink prep facilities. Again it’s only weakness is no escape hatch or pods. Those could be the dead end section of the tunnel without impacting the design of the ship
Maybe im searching a bit, but this feels like a nod to the Millennium Falcon. From the smuggling tunnel, scanning dish, asymmetrical design, a little bit of the cockpit and corridor, chess table, turret placement, and handling. Edit: I see someone already said that haha
Looks great. I agree about the crawl space. The smuggling area should be there, but not the entire length of the ship. Also wish you could look down from the cockpit more.
Regarding the "secret hold".... if/when the game launches, most new players will have no clue about this... a good point brought to my attention from someone else, as I thought the same that the secret wasn't really secret. In time it will be.
Given that your custom ship settings probably aren't huge files it might sync to your mobiglass and then when you get your new ship it could download the synced information from the previous one and apply the settings.
Love your videos....just turn the lights on and leave them on so we can see! Lol. I am a one pillow person. Also I would find the tunnels an excellent selling point. Having extra "maintenance" tunnels is great. 😜
They should have just added the secret cargo space in the cargo bay and left out the tunnels. It would have allowed the ship to retain a sleeker profile.
I love ships that are smallish and have all the necessities crammed in making it super cozy, when i get a decent PC im gonna no life this game i cannot wait
a couple things missed: inside engineering, is a second hidden panel. opening it and activating it will open a door to access the vents. you can open the door from the vent side as well. this is pretty important to know, because its quite a shortcut if you want to get from scanning room to vents. also in the habs are two shower/toilets that open up. two seems more than it needs, imo. i think the vents are ok. they will be a plot device in SQ42 for sure, and probably have some related mechanics in SC as well. this will probably be where most of the power relay and ship plumbing goes when you need to fix things. its possibly a place to store loose cargo, and count be a good place to have some FPS shootouts.
Hay bro been watching you for like 4 and a half years or so and I just love how you always review a ship/s planetside and not in space or in a hanger, ok hangers are cool as too but on a planet, it feels more real or something i don't know but anyway keep up the good work bro :)
I'm like you in the sense I'm of two minds about the crawspace (maybe three): 1) It's cool and unique! 2) It chews up a LOT of real-estate for not a lot of purpose; it could have been better served making it a little shorter or perhaps baking in true crew quarters and/or escape pods. 3) I think they could have made it an actual crawlspace as opposed to a crouch-space: just lower it a little? Dunno - it seemed like a lot of fun in the concept, but in reality, maybe if it was just one or two hidden rooms rather than a whole network.
All in all, interested to see how it fares in public, glad it's able to catch the eye for some people, and more variety is always a plus in the 'Verse. May have to grab my own when I can =D
The underground tunnels would do a exceptional good job if you wanted to smuggle important data or cargo, it also makes for crazy amount of extra storage when doing crate missions.
The secret door, which apparently isn't secret anymore is for cargo which you don't want to be scanned by another ship. Illegal cargo might be a better word. plus you can hide there.
Definitely two pillows.. I love your reviews by the way! Edit- Him : “you can also play chess here” Also him : moves pawn diagonally Chess players in the audience : *internal screaming*
When you're facing the ship, and you compare the Left and Right sides, it looks like it is meant to have an optional module that would make the ship symmetrical. I can only imagine... Bombing Module? Scanning Module? Stealth Module? Secondary Cargo Module? Passenger Module? There's SOMETHING planned for that spot. Even the interior suggests it.
Woa! Comes with "Klingon Warbird Technology" ? Great! Also, the switch for the secret hatch in Engineering is sadly missing, but the switch-housing is already there. Maybe it was forgotten And the thing lying on the ground in the sleeping area is a wii-fit board : D The super-secret entrance was surely designed by Trevor, who also did the Raccon City Mansion and Police Station : D And who doesnt like Jeffries tubes? They are needed for service! Sadly, no windows in sleeping or habitation are : (
yae its 6 in the hidden rest in normal. still it doesn't mater if its not shielded. agree that the hidden "tunnels" are abundant. There are some good defensive aspects as you can pop up behind "pirates" that are boarding the ship, and i guess you have an advantage when they jump down there. but would they jump down there unless you have something highly valuable hiding there? and if they don't know is it worth the risk? Really nice video as usual. Nice to have you back
I love the corridor and although it's use is limited at the moment, it may be useful against smaller invading groups. Of course everyone knows about it so the likelihood is that any boarders will just guard the exit. But I am wondering if there would be an opportunity to hide people who have bounties on them, or to use the MSR to pick up people escaping from prison.
id love to see the door switches to be on a screen rather than buttons, i think being able to visually see what doors are open/closed and toggle it by clicking on the door we want all from the cockpit would be perfect. i dont think the secret door is meant to hide from players, im pretty sure cig mentioned they planned for ai to board your ships so im thinking its meant to store/hide criminals or illegal cargo but also you could use it to keep cargo safe if the player took the chess piece with him preventing a pirate from entering
Default ship settings (especially for cockpit MFDs) are absolutely necessary. If Android can sync my settings between old phones and new phones, Crusader Industries should be able to do the same between ships
the ship looks a lot like it was based on the millenium falcon so the tunnel makes sense as that ship was used for the same purpose. Smuggling requires secret passages.
Man I gotta hand it to the SC devs. With some ships like this one, it's like they tapped into the inner 8 year old when asked the question: "What is the coolest starship you can imagine?" TURRETS. SECRET COMPARTMENTS. BUNK BEDS FOR ALL YOUR FRIENDS. Yep. Such a cool ship.

Personally I think the secret tunnels could be useful if the people boarding you dont know that you have a friend on board. And in that case your friend could hide in the vents and come out behind them and shoot em
can u use different white queen chest from other MSR to open diff MSR? its useful the secret compartment.. but because its became public secret, it became a joke... a secret is as good as if not many person know it except owner and really close to him/her
I think having Secret Corredor‘s would be nice especially on capital ships can you imagine if you’re under attack you could just use the secret quarters that only the owner could use so you can get from say the brig to the captains quarters or something like clue Of course the capital ship I’m talking about is the idris

MFD in top turret cannot be seen to give you info during combat . If power goes out with the lift in the up position then the tunnels are the only way out. No escape pods.
This ship is as close to perfection as it gets. But there are still two things that I personally really don't like about the design. First there is the elevator in the cargo area. This ship has no escape pods and no ejection seats. So on case of an emergency they really expect you to take an elevator on your way towards the only exit? This is stupid. A staircase would be much better. Also the enlongated scanning room should be parted into two smaller rooms. The one with the secret passage entrance in it could then be made into a small airlock and provide an additional way out of the ship. But overall these are minor gripes. The MSR is still my favorite ship so far.
The should have made the crew room with the chess table the captain quarters instead. Keep the table and the secret passage but in the captains room then it would be a 4 man ship
The cargo in the hidden area is a little high than I said. How you all have been keeping well.
I didn't even notice the head bobbing until you pointed it out lmao
I am a half a pillow person. Its really hard finding a thin pillow in the shops.
I've been missing you. "Ladies and gentlemen, Tactical Advance here!" That priceless opening line that welcomes me in like a friend inviting me in out of the cold.
I hope you're well and healthy.
i fully agree!!
2 pillows. All the way. Also, I think the ship was probably inspired by the millennium falcon with the asymmetrical front and ‘smuggling compartments’
And the antenna, chess board, and swivel seats? Only thing missing is the escape pod.
circular corridor sections too.
Top and bottom turrets, too
Finally, the video I've been waiting for from the person I want it from
Nobody does them like TA :-)
Been ignoring all other ship tours and reviews until I could see this
I love the ventilation system, not really from a functional viewpoint but more from a RP/look and feel viewpoint. This ship just makes you think of the millenium falcon from the asymmetric hull design to the secret vents and the look and feel in the cockpit and turrets.

Dude, I love your ship videos. You look at every bolt and every wire in the whole dang ship. It's great
Its always nice to see your videos. You're actually the reason why I own the Cnstellation Andromeda. Stumbled across those videos of the rework 4 years ago. Great job please keep it up.
It's not just an hidden corridor. It's also where you are going to repair and change some composants during or after fights.

I am sure once they start work on optimisation this will help
I don't even play SC but I loooove the ships presentation, I find this so satisfying. And your voice, it's almost ASMR :p
Are you planning on doing ship tours on the 100 series ships? I know many people have already done it but I would love to see you do one.
In the future I think the point is to not let your ship get destroyed in the first place ;-) The situation we have now where you can just respawn your ship as often as you like will be going away eventually.

the secret corridor is where you put your pet Minotaur
I think the hidden corridors might be a place where you get unpleasant surprises from people who have entered your ship without you knowing.

TURRETS.
SECRET COMPARTMENTS.
BUNK BEDS FOR ALL YOUR FRIENDS.

Yayyyy Tac is back
The Nightrunner paint/skin is out to anyone who did the mini game. IMO it looks very exec edition but i'm ok with that

Personally I think the secret tunnels could be useful if the people boarding you dont know that you have a friend on board. And in that case your friend could hide in the vents and come out behind them and shoot em
Maybe to decide where the secret doors will actually open and where they will be fused with the fueselage can make things more interesting...
can u use different white queen chest from other MSR to open diff MSR?
its useful the secret compartment.. but because its became public secret, it became a joke... a secret is as good as if not many person know it except owner and really close to him/her

3 pillows. Two for the head, one to put under my leg. :) But in a pinch, 2 is fine. Can't do one pillow.
They could make it so the ship owner decides which chess piece opens the secret door.

In face they could have designed the cew sleeping space a bit diffrently and add a extra bed in there as well
The turrets are great as long as the player doesn't get cocky.
MFD in top turret cannot be seen to give you info during combat . If power goes out with the lift in the up position then the tunnels are the only way out. No escape pods.
Yeah the TAC is back!
where can you buy it ? i can only find it in a bundle
Usual November Sale.
The tunnel would be good for ambushing anyone boarding your ship...or for flanking...
This ship reminds me a bit of the milenium falcon
I think the tunnels serve as a maintenance corridors
This ship is as close to perfection as it gets. But there are still two things that I personally really don't like about the design. First there is the elevator in the cargo area. I think the secret passage should be shielded, and you should be able to pick how to unlock it.
Its an idea to put on their website. But what do you mean shielded? Don't know if its a good idea for it to encroach on the Phoenix.
hope you're good TA
I am well thanks for saying hello
I think the "tunnels" only added height to the ship model; from any practical standpoint they are worse then useless.
35:02 you could have had a med bay....
So the turrets are S3 or S2 now?
S3
@@ConscriptGaming1991 nice. As i thought, it was the only change this ship needed. Glad they're not giving S2 on a ship near connie size.
Hey tactical! I hope everything’s going good with you.
1 pillow my dude!

He's back baby!
The should have made the crew room with the chess table the captain quarters instead. Keep the table and the secret passage but in the captains room then it would be a 4 man ship
The ship is set up oddly 5 stations three beds? Sees the cockpit: correct six stations
The MSR's bathrooms are super stealth
