How did you know the motors are bad? I did the same thing and found they both had continuity.

In order test the motors, you can apply 12V directly to the motor and see if it responds, if no response it’s bad (that’s what I did in the video). Or you can perform voltage drop testing at the motors to make sure they’re getting 12V with the battery plugged in and fully charged. If they’re getting 12V and motors don’t respond, they’re bad. The motors can have continuity between negative and positive side and still be bad. Voltage testing is needed to be sure.

Can you safely use a car battery to replace factory battery??

Thanks for the question. Using a car battery to replace the factory battery in a Peg Perego 12V kids vehicle is not recommended and can be unsafe for several reasons. Although both operate at 12V, car batteries are designed for different applications and may not be compatible with the vehicle's electrical system, potentially causing damage. Additionally, car batteries have much higher current capacities, which can damage the motor, wiring, and other electrical components of the Peg Perego vehicle. Their significantly larger size and weight can also affect the vehicle's balance, stability, and performance, making it unsafe for children to use. Furthermore, the charging systems for kids' vehicles are specifically designed for the battery type that comes with the vehicle; using a car battery may require a different charging mechanism and may lack safety features to prevent overcharging or overheating.
