Here in the US that aged galv tin sells for some big bucks. You could put new stuff up and offset the cost greatly by selling the old stuff. Thanks for the video!
Nice job Looks like your using a graco 517 tip Would be easier with a 1221 tip Also a inline pole gun with a 90 degree head makes it easier to get both sides on corrugated tin sheets also saves a lot of ladder work on the sides and ends.
Nothing know as Rust Converter ever exist on earth. Rust converter is just a marketing gimmick by paint companies. You can not convert rust to anything
Hey brother ,reading your replies it sounds like you really try your best , which I admire, if you want some constructive feedback , try walking top to bottom and then bottom to top , it will stop the build up of coating where you stop start and you will get a nice even looking coating and no dry lines . Nice job
@@mikechapman7097 Hi Mike , it can seem you have to walk pretty quickly , it's relative to the tip size and pressure , spraying full runs is all about the finish , no dry lines and no double up of the coating where you overlap . Cheers Dave
Thanks for posting. I have a pretty nice airless sprayer and I'm wanting to spray a sealent on a quanset hut. What do you recommend and what type tip do I need? Thanks
Yes after the debris is scraped and sanded we presure wash the roof to clean as well as to lower the temperature as the tin in S.A get so hot you can see steam coming out of the paint if not cooled a bit.
Everyone commenting about this not being an airless sprayer has no clue what they are talking about. This machine pumps the paint in at 4000 plus psi with NO AIR. That gun will inject paint under the skin and cause the worst kind of pain. The engine you hear running could be the pressure washers In The background or it could be a gas powered Airless Sprayer. So many “experts on UA-cam. You all need to watch and learn then go back to your desk jobs.
Thanks for the comment i would like to say that but im trying not to be sarcastic or rude but i love your comment hahaha. P.S it is my presure washer on the main roof.
Yea and I love the experts on materials too. Some guy says that there isnt a product like that but there are several. Here in CA they have a rusty metal water base product just like that. Most of the oil based products are no longer here but there is a high phosphoric acid based primer that is red and will stick to galvanized steel and stop the rust chemically. WHat galvanized there is left. much is weathered off. And people dont know that can happen either.
Thank you for posting your comment. Recognizing that I am most certainly NOT an expert, I was trying to figure out how an airless sprayer worked. So, if I understood you correctly, The machine (a compressor?) puts the paint container or canister under 4000+ psi which allows you to spray the paint without air mixing into the paint. Somewhat like a spray can or pneumatic tool? Even if I have it wrong, it's extremely cool and I want one. Once I figure out how it works...
Hi thanks for the reply. No the paint just gets sucked up out of the paint can into the machine the machine presurizes it in the hose and then get forced throug the nozle that atomizes it look at my other video on airless machine demo i explain the machine there.
Jip it started as a video clip to put on my business website the next morning i thouhgt i was hacked with 100’s of emails and notifications and since my channel has grown and i manage it on a daily basis. I try to add new videos every month soon there will be another one thanks for watching.

an airless unit uses air to increase the pressure of the paint coming out. 30 psi of air coming in will be ten times that coming out pushing paint only.
A airless doesn't use air it compresses the paint with a 2 ball system and a piston rod without any intervention of air. That can be driven electrical or on air ( pneumatic) Graco, Airlesco and Wagner do electric Graco and WIWA do pneumatic too world leaders in fluid transfer If it would use air to push out paint it would be called airmix or conventional spray. Gravity fed Devilbiss or AMX are good for this there are a few Japanese brands too Unless you have a airless unit with air assist (Kremlin pump) Hope this clarifies things a bit.
Now you gave that roof another 20 years of life!!
That's the one mate, straight over the rust. This is why the professionals save you money in the long run.
Its a farm house you flog, who cares.stick to the city yuppy.
there are certain paints specifically designed to be sprayd right over the rust.
Looks good I like it when I see people making stuff look good on limited budgets
There is a siliconized product that reflects the sun and doesn’t absorb heat that I would spray to keep temperatures down.
whats the name of this product?

In this case a “hose helper” was very important the hise vibrate and if there is no rounded gutters the corrugated iron cuts the pipe.

It is a 517 tip but a Chinese brand graco is unaffordable in South Africa.

I'm a painter by trade - absolutely is an airless sprayer - noise is from pressure cleaner in background - good job, should of primed it though.
Me to. definitely a power washer in the background. I would have just used a high grade DTM(direct to metal) enamel. Will basically last forever.

Personally I would get rid of the rust so paint lasts a bit longer
The paint we use has a rustconverter in the paint called acp28 it is a South african paint made in South africa.
MID-MICH-VLOGS that’s why I would get rid of the rust because one of the reasons I would paint a metal roof is to protect it
that primer converts the rust into a non rusting medium chemically.
guess these guys are rookies...lol...your right about the paint just power wash and a rust preventative paint and good as new
