Probably the most famous of the MANY great games between the Dolphins and Jets during the '80s/'90s. This is personally one of my favorite games from the '94 season. Marino was really smart to execute that fake spike. There've been a few times where other QBs have tried it but it doesn't come off the way Marino's did.
This play killed whatever momentum the Jets had that year. After the season, they fired Pete Carroll, hired Rich Kotite, and they were 4-28 in the next two seasons.
The Dolphins’ helmets have that discolored look of plastic exposed to sunlight. They looked 30 years old in 1994. Meanwhile, the Jets’ helmet has a different shade of green from the jersey.
My uncle had an additional ticket and offered it to a fan who sat with him in the beginning. However he left after the second quarter so he had to witness the ending by himself
I remember sitting at home watching this game. My son hadn't been born yet and Marino was my favorite QB. Now my son is 28 and Marino is still my favorite QB. I don't watch football anymore though.
Fins fan. Whatever the reason, time of day, meadowlands lighting, mold in the travel box, the Dolphin helmets in this game have the strangest hue. If anyone has an explanation I would love to hear your theory. Oh, and a shoutout and thanks to Jamies for virtually knocking us out of contention with his last pick six.😢🐬🐬🐬
Even if we made the playoffs we wouldn’t have made it out the wild card round anyways. Definitely need to fix the O Line this off season bc I’m so tired of seeing this team being held back by a terrible O line year after year. Give Tua Detroit’s or the Eagles o line and I’d bet he put up similar numbers to Goff. Hill, Waddle, and Achane would put up pro bowl numbers if they could just get some blocking! Also need to get a TE and some DTs
Growing up a Browns fan, I appreciate the fact that many years later, Marino said he got the idea from Bernie Kosar, who was Mario's backup this season
This play encapsulates so much of what is wrong with the Jets. They were outsmarted by a player whom they should have drafted. If they had, I believe their history would have been vastly different. But not drafting Marino had a domino effect of the Jets always searching for a QB, always being wrong, and always repeating the process, with Aaron Rodgers being the latest link in that chain of mistakes. When I saw this play as a young child, it felt like the first time (for me, anyway) that the Jets were truly embarrassed by their own incompetence. I have had that feeling so many times in the intervening years, and it always hurts, even if you kind of expect it.
Incredible play by Marino if he had a top 10 defense, he wins multiple Super Bowls. I believe it’s funny how the NFL’s trying to change the game but still the fundamentals always remain the same. If you don’t win the line of scrimmage you don’t win and if you don’t stop your opponent, you don’t winthose two things will never change about football.
Ha ha all that time ago until now and nothing's changed with this loser franchise the New York Jets are an absolute embarrassment to the National Football League and always have been. I mean how stupid are the Jets you call yourselves the New York Jets but you play in another state.duuuuuh

To post this during the nightmare that is the 2024 jets season is the definition of kicking someone while they're down.
They can change the narrative Sunday if they wish. Of course I’ll be dancing on their grave if they don’t 🐬
Yeah it really is.
Is this why boomer works for WFAN?
@@vinref6238don’t worry we won’t
careful, they might bring out the Butt fumble replay.
That was NEXT LEVEL SLICK on Marino's part. I remember seeing this live as a kid. Blew my little pre-teen mind! 🤣
Me tooNGGA
SeaQuest was an awesome show its like underwater Star Trek.
They caught the Jets napping 😂. Iconic
They haven’t woken up 30 years later
@SSNESS AWAKE THEM 😂
They’re just STANDING there!!!!!

Former eagles coach who took over for buddy Ryan right ?
@@packersauburneric3625 He was just awful for the Eagles. I have no idea why the Jets ownership thought Kotite was a good option.
@@mjjoe76 Same team that thought Adam Gase was a good option after the Dolphins fired him.
@@mjjoe76 Leon Hess thought that Kotite would make the Jets a winning team. Dead serious.
Kotite lost his last 7 in Philly too
And the Jets fell into one of their worst skids after this.
And in 2024 it's gotten worse
I didn’t realize Ronnie Lott landed on the jets lol!
What’s so funny?
@ the fact he was n the dominant niners teams of the eighties only to land with the freakin jets

Never mind the fake spike. The Jets gave the ball back to Dan Marino four times in the fourth quarter. That would always get you in trouble back then.
Dan the FK IN MAN MARINO........STRAIGHT UP BEST QB EVER
Him or ken O'Brien? Lmao
Straight up?
14:30 for people that don’t wanna watch the whole thing
Who wouldn't want to?
No clue Ronnie Lott played for the Jets!
Art Monk too
Oh shoot damn
1 million subs, NFL Throwback! I'm impressed.
This Game Brings Me Back Memories
The funniest part of this is that there was no fake! The Jets just stood there like mannequins and Marino lofted an easy TD.
My uncle had an additional ticket and offered it to a fan who sat with him in the beginning. However he left after the second quarter so he had to witness the ending by himself
Miami Dolphins Was Member AFC East Division From 1970 To 1993 And New York Jets Was Member AFC East Division From 1970 To 1993 Thanks For Uploading
There still in the afc east

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed the odd “old white plastic” look of the helmets.
They almost look like pearls

Pete Carroll has always been old
Yep. Suffered from Steve Martin Syndrome.
Marino was the Jets daddy.
The signature Moment of Dan Marino's Career
Funny Rodgers( with Packers) did the same thing to the Dolphins years ago in Miami with Marino in attendance
Marv Albert the Football Broadcaster is Underrated 💯
Is that Marv Albert?
YES
What's with the reupload?
That’s what I was wondering
@@breesybird9207 There's only so much material

YES

Vikings Falcons 2003 next? That one was a Randy Moss classic - and you said you listen 😂 😉 either way though I’d enjoy seeing those highlights again
Aaron rogers would later re-create this play against the Dolphins
Rodgers
How badly did this loss affect The Jets franchise? After this game they were 4-34 until Bill Parcells was hired.
Damn
And things haven't improved
Irving fryer besides keyshawn gimme the damn ball johnson the last wrs to be number 1 overall picks right ?
The play by play was Marv-elous 🗣️
Cool video
Man this make Jets fans sick to this day. As a fan who supports one poverty franchise to other, I feel y'all pain Jets fans
Must be running out of video ideas to upload, this game was already posted
Down 24-6 to up 28-24, poor Jets.
that field looks like it would suck to get tackled on
Idk
Falcons Raiders 2012 next
What's worse? Marv's hair or the Jets...
I never realized how bad Boomer threw it out of the end zone on that last play. Didn’t even give them a shot.
Yet another game pops lost some of whatever hair he had left at the time 😂🤦🏻♂️.
If ya gonna post this ya might as well put up the Eric Allen game 😂
paul macquire was a jet hater. great play. they won by 7 instead of 3. either way, miami was winning the game.
The most iconic play in NFL history
My neighbor said he has uncontrollable down the leg diarrhea blowouts from worrying about the cowboys playoff chances
Fascinating
@TL2354 it's crazy how he told me about it. Claims the explosions are bad enough to blow past an adult diaper
How many superbowls did Marino win?
We already suffer every Sunday why do this now nfl throwback?
New York jets vs Miami 🦨💨👎😂🤣🐬🛩🟢⚪️🟠⚪️🏈🏟
What the hell kinda hail mary was that??? Wayyyyy out of the endzone.
Boomer Essiason’s finest hour lol. Single-handedly let Miami back into the game with ridiculous turnovers
Esiason
@ thanks for the correction, he stinks and was grossly overrated as a qb
