Ever since I got my hands on a jackfruit, I found this video and took 13 seeds from the fruit to plant. Thanks to your helpful guide, my tallest plant is about 6 inches tall and all the rest are very close behind (minus about two which don't really have shoots but very strong roots!). I don't know if the time mine are taking is the same time yours took in this video because I haven't been keeping track, but they are progressing nicely.
Thank you for your very helpful video! This is the first thing I've ever grown, let alone from a seed, and it's going great.

Thk you for your input! I have 5 seeds to plant from odering through Amazon ! I am excited to plant ASAP! ❤😊
Great video
Awesome video.. 👌🏻👌🏻
One of the best daywise- time lapse jackfruit video to give an idea for growth planning. Other videos talk for 3/4 of its length w/o substantial information, wasting time watching. Would like to see updates of monthly time lapse.
Wonderful video : )
I am using the bag method and having much success.

Great video on germinating the seeds!

Thank you so much! I have a jackfruit plant in my house and I'm wondering at what height to crop
it (to make it get branches). Very grateful!
Jackfruit trees are trimmed to 15' for easier harvesting. The problem with growing Jackfruit in a container is they do not like their roots restricted. I think a sign of this is the leaves deforming. I want to grow mine outside but I need a tall greenhouse first. These trees do tolerate cold but not freezing temps.

This is awesome. I can't grow anything but with the help of this video I was to get some seeds to root out. I'm excited for the growth.
Thanks for sharing your video. How long will it be before the tree will bear fruits?

Hi do you need to put holes on th bottom ofthe cup or tin can?
Hello I'm growing some mango seed's in pots what what type of care do they need I'm in NYC indoors

Your info is GREAT! thank you and you were right to the point. One guy I was watching had a 45 min video - 19 mins in he was still telling how to pick a good one! - NOPE! Urs I was able to know how to eat and cook the seeds and also to plant the seeds - thanks!
Do you know how to get the tiny seeds out of the guava to eat and use the fruit? I love guava, but the seeds deter me from getting them .
Sifting the inner flesh through a strainer and separating the pulp and seeds in water may help. I'm working on germinating guavas too and some have tiny seeds!
It is very easy to grow
Do you know where to get averrhoa bilimbi plant, and how care for
Mine had 392 seeds it was incredible I don't know the variety it was but the flesh was soft sweet & juicy it was fully ripe with no latex whatsoever to deal with as I extracted the flesh covered seeds.
Wild jackfruit imported from Venezuela to your country
@@sweetpotatoestroop ok well she's a winner i'll plant out those seeds not eating any its more than worth sharing. You're sooooo lucky living in Venezuala there & most of South America have many exotic plants & fruit trees my Dad came from Guyana but I'm in Barbados nothing at all here to get excited about regarding exotic trees.
I have a hard time believing there were almost 400 seeds. I had huge jackfruit on my road and there was never close to that many
Was it a 100 lbs Jackfruit???
It's ok for them to dry before soaking. Many people dry than chip the shell than soak and they germinate super fast that way!
Coolvid
My first time here and i am loving your tutorials already. Thanks for inspiring people like me. Keep the good work. Thanks again.
In India we eat the seeds also, you can check lots of videos....the dish is very tasty
I live in Texas, so what would I do for the winter months?
May I ask how tall in cm is the the jackfruit when the fruit is grown?
Thank you everyone for watching, liking, and commenting on this video. Hey, do ya’ll want to see how these seedlings are doing? Check out how the seedlings grew from spring to fall 2019: ua-cam.com/video/FPngcpCjTN8/v-deo.html
Hey yes please! Keep us updated, I'm super stoked to see how your plants have grown and I'm just about to start my own from seed! Except nowhere to transplant them into haha, we'll cross that bridge when we get there... gotta be thinking 50+ years from now for these huge trees xD
1. What spot is best to have them soak in? 2. When you say let them soak for a few days, how many days?
3. Are there holes in the bottom of the containers you transplanted them to?
Hi, can I send you an email?? I just want to ask you if my jackfruit is growing right cuz it's still the same height and it's not fucking growing for 2 weeks 😭
Hi. I would like to know how often do I water the plant and is fertiliser necessary?
Can use any dirt
what's the difference between soil container and tower container?
You can even est the jackfruit seeds, those are very tasty
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
how did you make your greenhouse thats used here
I use 18 gallon or higher plastic totes with lids (I get them from thrift stores). I either use a 20 inch heat mat or stream holiday lights (50 count bulbs) around the sides of the totes. I put the lights on a timer and keep the lid cracked. It works great to start them but they will get stringy without ample light. I drilled a hole in one of the lids and put a grow light through it 😊
How long to keep in water
What time grafting
I see you are having the same problem as I am with the leaves deforming. What soil works best for Jackfruit? Cactus soil?
Good day,
DO you sell your Jackfruit seeds? I am looking to getting 10 to 15 seeds if possible.
Kind regards
Shannon

How to protect the little tree from the winter weather?

Hi do you still need to water the seed when you plant them in the plastic cup
I poke a few holes in the bottom of the cup. I also ensure the soil drains.
Planting seeds... taken out from the jackfruit, but in future will it bear fruits or not?
The fact that you are using Christmas light got me like 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
They can sometimes be cumbersome, but I think they make a difference. They can cut the cold air off the plants. When the historic freeze happened, my plants around the Christmas Lights (which turned on during rolling blackouts) were still alive.
The incandescent light put on quite a bit of heat. 😊
Can i put it in a paper cup?
Do they grow in KENYA.
I have dry seed... So it is possible to grow plant. Please reply
I'm only a beginner but from watching a couple other videos, I believe you have to keep the seeds moist and not refrigerate them as they're a tropical plant. But try to rehydrate your dry seeds and maybe they'll sprout!
Two of the leaves on one of my 3 month old plants have started to turn brown. This occurred two days after moving them outside in 80°F weather, and giving them a heavier watering than I could have indoors.
I've read that they don't like overly moist soil. Do you have experience with this happening? And if so, what was your solution?
I had a three-month-old set did the same thing a few weeks ago. They were outside, and the outside temp was getting warmer. I transplanted them into a deeper pot and replaced the soil. Now, about three weeks later, the top leaves dried out, but the seedlings are sprouting new leaves from the stem again. Yes, they don’t like wet feet and would need a deep pot. This happened to me last year too! I’d definitely replace the soil. It wouldn’t hurt 😊
FYI, when you go from indoor to outdoor you typically want to gradually increase the time the plant spends outside so it can get used to the new climate. So an hour at first, then a few hours a day, then you can just leave it out there. The plant will survive either way but you every plant I've taken right outside has a small window where it is struggling to adapt to the new climate. It needs to reroute energy for this and sometimes it has to sacrifice foliage to get the energy.
I heard you say “ tropical weather “. Can they grow in desert 🌵 areas?
Maybe but you will need to water a lot and it can’t get lower than 30😩 F
On average how long does a seed grown tree take to fruit?
How did ur hand not stick into the fruit?? U helped me a lot but how?? My gloves got ruind cuz it's was so sticky
I think coconut oil will do.
Any cooking oil helps. You need to smear it to the hand for removing pulp from the fruit
You can also eat the seeds my mom told me that
Yuuuup!
Yes we can eat
You can eat the seeds after roasting them. We also make tasty dishes like curry, sabji etc from seeds
Can we store the Jack fruit seeds in the fridge until we are ready to plant out?
You can store them in the fridge until you're ready. I wouldn't leave them in there for too long. The longest I had them was probably two weeks. As long as they don't dry out or freeze, they should be good.
Im Jamaican and I now live in the US and I want this 😀 my favorite fruit but my mom wont let me grow it in the backyard 🥲
You can find some at whole food :)
Ir is a big tree, little Bean Bag.
If you grow a jackfruit just from seed and plant it in the ground they will grow VERY Fast and start flowering in just under 2 years. Jackfruit trees grow way slower in pots compared to being in the ground
Dhhhggggdfg
Interesting
Really soak for one week
Thanks so much
HI I live in Israel and my jack fruit don't give fruit do you know why?
Less than 4yr old.

I put my seeds in water for a few days, peeled the skin, and them realized they germinate in the water
In Malaysia, we call this fruit "Nangka" hehehe
Do you have any updates? Did it produce fruit yet?
Unfortunately, most of my seedlings froze and died during the February 2021 Texas freeze. The greenhouse didn’t have heat for several days.
Also, the Jackfruit seedlings struggle in the winter greenhouse, possibly due to the reduced sunlight and heat.
As of March 2024, I don’t have any jackfruit seedlings.
How can I buy the jackfruit seeds? I’m living in Israel
You need to go to hell you killer bastards , iam waiting to see Israel turn out to a piece of carbon 🔥 hell fire Inshallah !
Is there still hope lf I put the seeds in the fridge
They should be fine if the seeds were in the fridge. If anything, they shouldn’t dry out for too long, and they shouldn’t freeze
How many years does it take
for them to fruit?
I believe around 5-8, give or take a few. I don't think you'll get fruit in the first 2-3 years, or they will be very small. Jackfruit grows 30+ years so they're more of a long-term producer.
Chances of you getting the same variety of Jackfruit from seed grown plant is less. Grafting is the best option to get same variety
I eat Jackfruit seeds. I bake them 😊
cut the top after 3 maond,,, to get bushy tree

Do Jackfruit grow true from seed?
Using peat moss is bad for the environment. Use bark or coconut coir.
U should not plant in plastic cup because the jack fruits roots are very strong it could break the cup
I had too many problems with my seeds, and when finally the grow, started to die :( ; i have to try again
Need 80F and humidity to flourish. Put them in a micro-climate using plastic housing and a cup of water to evaporate humidity.
How to find the true seeds(non cross pollinated) There is a method but the one who know is keeping it as secret
I’m back after 3 years and my jackfruit is really fat I’m losing space in my garden
Do jackfruit need water while they are jerminate
