Fights in Tight Spaces is a deckbuilding fusion of John Wick, Slay the Spire, and Into the Breach. It draws on a lot of great inspirations but does something unique yet familiar at the same time. Check it out!
They really should make a sequel called "Tights in fight spaces" which is about a tailoring company which makes fight suits for fighters.
I'd play it
The next sequel would be Space in Fight Tights, where you have to fight in suits that don’t fit so good
And then there’s Tights in Space Fights which is a sci fi beat em up where all the characters wear unitards

I wish this game had a way to grab things and use them, like pencils, clubs anything. that would be fun!
I hope there's an unlock where if you kill 40 men in one map with no ranged, you get a pencil
I can't imagine how much a game designer must scream watching NL play the game and willfully ignore all of the well crafted design elements that clearly convey information that is just glossed over.

@@thomascheckie2394 he's actually right, NL is great at commentary, like extremely great, to the point I prefer to not watch this video and just put on background cuz love hearing his commentary but watching him play like this is excruciating for real, this is a strategy game, every turn the game tells u exactly what is gonna happen, every turn is supposed to be planned, NL played it like an action game lol

@@thomascheckie2394 I mean, I don't think it's hard to play better than NL on non-chess games. But more importantly, you don't need to be better than someone to notice bad play - shooting yourself in the dick is always a poor choice, you don't need to be a master to say "stop shooting your own dick every turn".

It'd be cool if they introduced some kind of mechanic where at the end of a fight it would play the whole sequence at full speed sorta like Superhot
That's a thing, or at least it was in the demo. You need to click the replay button though, it doesn't do it automatically like super hot did
Be nice if you watched the video and saw thats in the game
It's not really "at full speed" though, it's just with the cards and other gameplay elements edited out. The actual playback is still really slow and clunky though, it would be nice if they had made it actually look like a fast-paced movie scene by speeding up the actions a bit and tweaking the ridiculously stiff movement animations.
If Ryab does it right, his head in the thumbnails could be a flipbook-style animation. Go to the upload page and wing the list
This has a real chance of being the best deck building rogue like ever.
I've played it. It has balance issues. The pace is a bit slow right now and the in-game rewards are a bit stingy. Like the card upgrades aren't too good, the money after each round is low and the reward rounds don't really give you much. But if they fix those issues it can be a good game.
@@peterbedford449 I have also played it. I thought the card upgrades were pretty good. I definitely didn't think it was slow paced. If the rewards were greater it would be too easy to snowball.
@@danjackson1016 Well a difference of opinion then. Also, if it was already very good wouldn't it already be the best deck builder ever and not have a chance to be the best deck builder ever? I definitely think it needs improvement in the balance and more. It definitely isn't the best deck builder ever. But has a chance to be a good game if they do some improvements to the game flow, balance and more. I think it's a pretty stock standard deck builder in the veneer of a new one. But it can definitely be a good game, a very good deck builder, if they do some improvements to the game's rhythm and a bit more.
@@peterbedford449 theres a gap between very good deck builder and slay the spire my dude. And there's nothing standard about the into the breach approach to combat. Where has it been done before in a deck builder?
They should remove the pauses between the combat animations so everything is fluid, that would look sick.

At 55:47, doesn't Slip let you move to behind the boss? It looks like the square highlights a couple of times, and the whole point of the card is to move around someone so it seems like a better move.

Pretty unsatisfying animations, at least for me, clunky and not fluid, especially with the 'replay' at the end. I know it's early access, so hopefully theres some improvements.
It just feels like a rehearsal for stage fighting, rather than a bullet time style fight.
Yeah, I don't mind it for the turn-based actions but it's really jarringly bad for the replay (which for me was honestly the main draw of the game concept, although it does look like a pretty solid combat system without it). I just rewatched that first fight again at double speed and it was still pretty clunky looking at times so that really drives in just how ridiculously slow the normal speed replay is. I think if they jacked the speed up 1.5-2.5 times and outright changed some of the "clumsily walking into position and doing an unnatural right angle pivot" animations it could actually look pretty cool though, maybe a modder could (or already has) fix that mechanic.
I'm disappointed that there was no immediate callback to the song "Angel's with dirty faces"

I got scared when NL said 'spicy' in the same voice he used to say 'juicy'
This game would be a lot better with improved animations. It shouldn't be too hard considering the animations are a big part of how the game is presented. Enemies getting hit by attacks look like Mortal Kombat fighters getting jabbed and the collision in the animations isn't great. Rising Knee and Head Smash are good examples of an animation that is satisfying to watch. The end-of-fight replay is a really good way to get around these problems.
I hate when people say "it's really not that hard" to something that would probably take a shit ton of work.

This taught me nl did a series on into the breach, guess ill be watching that now
NL said he really enjoyed it and felt the game didn't get the recognition it deserved.

NL, I blame you for my new Slay the Spire addiction, because it _can't_ be my fault. People always went on about how good it was and I just thought there's no way. After hearing you talk about it relatively often, I decided it was finally you've to give it a try. I'm not proud of what comes next, but I put in over 100 hours in the span of 10 days. This is your fault, not mine! I am not to be blamed for my own choices!

@@Ketsuekisan The embargo is on the actual release going up on youtube specifically. From what I understand, he's technically allowed to play it on stream, but doesn't because he doesn't want to build up an enormous backlog.

NL need to work on your critical thinking, you make some questionable decisions when under pressure.
My man clearly has critical thinking skills, have you seen him play chess or tetris? It's the mental overhead of keeping the banter going, glancing at chat, and interfacing with a new system that leads to the misplays.
Could he play better? Yeah. But at the cost of the personality that got him where he is I wouldn't want him too.
