You said everything can be done using Process Builder. But how about the outbound messages? You need workflows for that, isn't it?

Actually it is possible using Apex
but why code when we can do the same thing with a declarative approach, Saida.
@@SalesforceHulk If you have the professional edition and no workflow rules, is it then a good approach to use apex for this?
@@robertpeitsch7852 Professional edition you don't have apex. BUT you could contact salesforce sometimes if you are buying more licenses etc you can ask them to bundle workflows into professional edition.

Hi Shrey, you said, if you choose “Re-evaluate workflow rules after field change” on workflow2, then it re-evaluates 1 and 3 only, but not 2 itself. Technically, it doesn’t need to self-evaluate again, because, when you are creating a workflow rule, you choose the evaluation criteria “created and anytime its edited to subsequently meet criteria” (or you can choose any other criteria), once it is true, THEN ONLY it can execute the action to “field update”, then with this action, you will choose re-evaluation step as the last step. This means, evaluation happened before “field update” itself, hence it doesn’t need to re-evaluate on the same workflow again, which can lead to infinite loop. So, it designed that way to evaluate the rest of the workflows. Hope this helps
I was asked in one of Interview that what is difference calling apex class by process and by triggers. Yes it's not related to this video but can create video where it can differentiate workflow, process builder and triggers I mean when to go for which tool ?

in the last two minutes you said , you can not add one time triggered action to a workflow if there already exist a record for that work flow action, but at last while giving example you told until and unless a record exist u can not add one more time triggered action.

Also in 3rd criteria, you said that if initially it was meeting the criteria then after that it does jot matter if it meets the criteria or not.
Does that means if first time criteri met if we make salary field as 60 email will be sent.
Now again i change the field and make salary as 40 email wont be sent.
Now if i again change it to 60 will the email be sent? As it has already met the criteria once.

1. what will happen when we select 2nd criteria and change the salary field from 65 to 40, will the be sent?
2. And if we keep salary as 40 after that and make changes to other fields will the mail be sent again?
I think in both the cases mail will not be sent. Please somebody confirm.
@@009siba but, second criteria is evaluated for every time its created or edited. So, it will evaluate both the times and since criteria is false, it will not send email for both the instances.

Hi Shrey, awesome video. This makes workflow rules concept really clear to us. However, I would also like to know if there is a way to automatically create the workflow rules in salesforce through a application connect to it. So if I am using a third party email campaigning software for example and is connected to my salesforce account, then is there a way I can create a workflow rule every time I create a email rule in my application?

Nice job, a suggestion is you can just convey a thought in just one statement and not repeat it using another word frame which has the same meaning again,making it elongated.

when criteria is set to "created and everytime its edited to subsequently meet the criteria", if previous salary was 60k lets say,and again we edited that record and now salary is 65k. Will it sent an email to VP of HR as it was meeting the criteria earlier?

Bro I have a doubt in time trigger action ,After registering for action to be executed in middle of you change you said it verifies whether the criteria meets or not if yes it executes or else it won't ,but my question is that modified action will execute or not , Example: if you change criteria1 to criteria 2 in middle it verifies the first registered action criteria 1 and it won't execute further ,now what about the changed criteria 2 it will evaluate or not ?

Hi Shrey , at 3.54 second you mentioned the 3rd criteria as created, and EVERY time it’s edited to subsequently meet criteria. But while checking on help pages help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=workflow_rules_define.htm&type=5 it says created, and ANY time it’s edited to subsequently meet criteria. is it same as you explained or it is always ANYTIME in 3rd criteria ?

For a new record, run the rule if the rule criteria is met.
For an updated record, run the rule only if the record is changed from not meeting the rule criteria to meeting the rule criteria.
So, it will check criteria only when it wasnt meeting criteria before and not it does meet. If it was meeting before editing , it doesnt evaluate criteria for the following update. Even Shrey said the same thing. Hope this helps
