Great book. It gives a wonderfully fictional yet realistic visual mental image of Texas/ Mexico during that time, and in that environment. Being in "that environment" in present day, I've often been curious to how it must have been
3:37:03 This part of this conversation is HUGE to the plot. The Don had heard about the three gringos that murdered a man up north. He KNEW John Grady and Rollins were two of those three gringos.
They only stole back Blevins horse, Blevins didn’t go back to kill the man who has his pistol until later. Blevins confirms when he says he’s been working for a German family for months then went back to get the pistol.
Had to get used to this narrator, after listening to the Road and NCfOM, with Tom Stechschulte, but I gotta say, he grew on me quickly. Really suits the atmoshpere.
Thems fighting words. Lol. Lonesome dove is one my all time favorites. I read pretty horses back when it came out and thought is was good but I'm enjoying this audiobook way more. I might try the physical book again.
Twisted and righted. As in: The image gets distorted and straightened again. He read correctly. Isn't it embarrassing when you try to pretend to be smarter than others and fail completely. Infuriating.
Chapter 2 starts at 2:59:57
Chapter 3 4:51:00
"Does a bear shit in the woods? Hell yes, I can ride. I was ridin when I fell off."

Beautiful and raw. A great listen. Superb reader. Thank you.
Thank you for this audio! I am so glad it has been uploaded onto UA-cam!

My favourite McCarthy. Moving and beautifully written. Knocks Lonesome Dove into a cocked hat.

What's with all the folks picking at what other people write here? My God! "Bot" much??
“Twisted and writed” seriously? 5 seconds into the narration? Writhed!! Infuriating
