Excellent video, I'm watching this in Scotland. I love all the different paint schemes from former rail companies. This must have cost a fortune to repaint all they locomotives.
I just recently caught the PC unit on video for the first time ever to complete my 20 for 20, so I'll need to start work on my compilation eventually, and even if that means repeating some of my old clips I've already got on here. ;-) Great stuff. By the way that Conrail shot is amazing
Thanks, that's one of my favorite shots too. Nice to hear you also got all 20...that PC unit is looking a little, uh, well...it resembles the Penn Central very well ;-)
I've seen four of them - Jersey Central 1071, Nickel Plate Road 8100, Virginian 1069, and Lackawanna 1074 - in that order. Oddly enough, only the 8100 was seen on NS - leaving the ex-NKP yard in Bellevue, no less! As for the three SD70ACe's, they were all seen passing through Sterling, Ohio, on CSX trackage. I narrowly missed (by about 15 minutes) the Conrail 8098's first revenue run through my hometown of Wooster, Ohio, back on March 20, 2012. (EDIT: On August 8, 2020, I saw the Southern 8099 lead a train into Bellevue... AND I got it on video - the FIRST heritage unit recorded!)
Great job compiling everyone of these. Impressive. My favs are Southern and Norfolk and Western. (Might have been ice to include small subtitle specifying which RR is represented.)
Engines of beauty and you managed to catch all 20! My luck, only 1 in three years on both the Union Pacific & BNSF in all three SoCal passes...Cajon, Tehachapi & San Timoteo.
I guess it would be harder to see them out there. Just like it's not common to see the UP heritage or Olympic units here, although I did catch UP 2001 one time, but I have not shared that shot.
Thanks for sharing! I live a mile from the original Norfolk southern rail track . It’s dead now ,tracks but no trains . Glad you have rail action so I can get my hit 😂

Very nice! I’m personally only missing NS 1071 and 1074. Pretty much every unit you got in great lighting with the exception of three in my opinion, all three of which are some of my favorite units in the fleet. (NS 1067, 8098, and 8103)
My first was the New York Central and since it looks almost like a normal NS, I thought it odd but didnt know what I was looking at. I just thought they pulled an old engine out the mothballs Then I found out about the Heritage Units. Since then I have seen Southern, Wabash, Illinois Interstate, The Virginian(the one I see the most, usually in Michigan or near Toledo), and the green and yellow one. What I long to see is Conrail, the Erie and the Pennsylvanian.
Theres also a Norfolk and Portsmouth belt line locomotive, although I don't know if that's a heritage. I think it's a GP38-2. And also, it's hard to tell when NS #4001 will be completely repaired. Great Video as always!
@@CentralPennRailProductions One of the downsides of living by the Buffalo line is not many trains go through like they used to, but one of the advantages this line has a very rich history factor

One minute per heritage unit
Awesome video!! NS train 11R(East Deerfield MA to Enola PA) has NS 8104 leading. It was reported to in Schaghticoke NY at 09:57 hrs
The Conrail (8098) Shot Was Beautiful! Great Work!
Impressive to have them all and well shot! That’s a LOT of hours invested…great video.
This was a fantastic video! Very well edited, clips kept short and to the point. Also great videography and awesome subjects. Love the heritage units.
Thanks!

Out of all 20 heritage units, my top 3 favorites are Original NS, Central of Georgia, and Conrail.
