    Phils fan, saw a lot of Kimbrel last year. The guy was either lights out or a catastrophe. He’d suddenly lose his fastball location or his curveball for stretches of time.

      This wasn't the case before he went to the White Sox and they forced him to be a setup after he made a career as not just any closer but the best in the league for years. Cubs never should have made that trade.

    Relief pitchers have the hardest time getting into the HOF. One of the biggest (and unfair) reasons is they “couldn’t cut it as starters.” The fact that Rivera was the first unanimous election speaks of how great he was at it. Although Kimbrell had the run and the milestones, I think he’s gonna have a hard time getting in due to his later seasons and due to how many playoff games he lost. Of course, with all the new metrics they’re starting to use, he might have a shot but I dint see it being first ballot.

    Craig Kimbrel is the reason why pitchers like Mason Millier doesn't impress me at all. Kimbrel used to struck out the side every night making it look routine. The difference between Miller and Kimbrel is that Kimbrel wasn't overrated and MLB wasn't uploading videos about him every single day.
    He had 38 saves in 43 chances 3.22 era with the Cubs in total from 2019 to 2021 which is great. But for Kimbrel having an ERA over 2.00 is already bad for him since he used to 1.00 era every year.
    Kimbrel is a hall of famer, Wagner and Rodriguez didn't do what Kimbrel has done in his career, including Rookie of the Year and broke the saves record for a rookie, and 9th All Star Selections and he has broke many other records and he is also the youngest to do it in every aspect.

      the problem is now every kid in every state throws 100. the next generation is here and it’s better. technology and medicine have allowed the human body to do unthinkable things. back in 2010 the mlb avg fb was 92. Kimbrel was throwing 99. No one was used to that kind of speed. Now that every MLB player has been seeing 99-100 since HS it’s different. that’s why you’re seeing kids like Mason Miller(which i disagree with you, i think he’s going to be great) fascinate me because not only is the kid throwing 100 he’s throwing 100 with fucking 12-15 inches of break. that’s disgusting.

    • @cuck8180
      @cuck8180 6 місяців тому +2

      ERA+ isn't arbitrary lol. Park factors (the only arguably arbitrary part of ERA+) usually play a minimal role in the adjustment. ERA+ pretty much just gives you a snapshot of how much better a pitchers ERA was compared to their peers, which makes it much better than ERA
