For those of you that are NOT familiar with the Ibanez AND to correct Matt's false "no coil-split" statement about the Ibanez at 01:56. The Ibanez S521-MOL is a hard tail version with Jatoba fretboard (as of 2018, has replaced the rosewood) and a mahogany body with oil finish. Oh, side note: if it's the 2015 model then the fretboard is rosewood. The dual humbuckers with 5-way blade switch DOES feature coil-splitting. Position 5 is normal neck humbucker in series. Position 4 is neck humbucker with the coils in PARALLEL. Position 3 is both humbuckers as normal. Position 2 is both humbuckers COIL-SPLIT using only the neck's north coil and bridge's south coil which results in humbucking no noise. Finally position 1 is normal bridge humbucker. I have a 2013 S420-BK with the Edge ZR+ZPS2 tremelo, and it's 5-way switch works the same way. Also, I beg to differ on the tuning stability comment in that the edge ZR+ZPS2 and the locking nut is VERY stable: ask Steve Vai. ;)
Most versatile rig without busting the bank 2022: HX Effects + Catalyst 100 + Expression Pedal Working great for me. Covers jazz to modern metal, and everything in between. Still use and prefer my Marshalls for vintage rock gain, and my Engl for modern high gain.
Marshall dsl40 (or any amp with a good high gain channel and clean channel) + 5 or more reverb pedals, but you can also use his signature reverb. Or, just get a line 6 spider v and his sig reverb pedal, cuz that's his practice setup
Isaac Miller BTW My rig currently is like Muse without busting (all I play is pretty much Muse xD) : Cort m jet (it’s like his signature model but better imao) , Orange tiny terror, zvex fuzz factory (I have a hand painted one), mxr phase 90 , crybaby wah (not really Muse but I have it) and I also have a Marshall Shred Master (better for Radiohead) . All I think that I need and will get is a Digitech Whammy and a Line 6 dl4 delay. I just ordered a mini Kaoss Pad to make them synthy crazy sounds XDDDD
Cort make some cracking gear. Pete Trewavas of Marillion fame is quite partial to them. Except his Warwick and flowery Rickenbackers that guy seems to go for the cheapest thing that plays well (Ibanez and Yamahas etc)
Yamaha Pacifica 311H - one of the most versatile guitars I own (P90 and Humbucker w/coilsplit). And an absolut joy to play! Retails for about 280 Euros in Germany...
MegaCrasherMusic It's a "beginner guitar" in terms of its low price, but you really get a lot for that money, and that makes it more than just a beginner model. Very nice neck, stays in tune great, great build quality, great sounds. The PUs are not the strongest, and if you have the extra cash you could go for an even better quality with the 611 (Seymour Duncan PUs, GraphTech Saddle) which has the same configuration and versatility. Reviews for that one are blazing.
I was considering buying that guitar, as I have a bad back injury and I needed something super light. It only JUST lost out to an Epiphone Casino Coupe, but it's an awesome guitar - especially if you have back issues! The look of the Casino just suited me more and I'm a sucker for that hollowbody sound, but this thing played beautifully and sounded awesome. You really cant go wrong with it. I'm loving what I'm hearing from the Katana, too. I've got to try one!
Great thing about the Katana is instead of buying a Wah pedal you can get a boss or like expression pedal and use it for several of the built-in boss effect pedals in the amp and not only would you have a wah pedal that you can use with the different type of wahs in the amp but use it as a volume pedal or whatever other expression effects Boss put in the amp
Most versatile sounds like rig:

3- Rabea to play it all for you

2: Any crappy thing resembling an amp in any way, shape, or form.
3: No effects necessary.
4: Rabea to play it all for you.

Working great for me. Covers jazz to modern metal, and everything in between. Still use and prefer my Marshalls for vintage rock gain, and my Engl for modern high gain.
Do a Sound Like Devin Townsend! Please?
Devin is the best!
Marshall dsl40 (or any amp with a good high gain channel and clean channel) + 5 or more reverb pedals, but you can also use his signature reverb. Or, just get a line 6 spider v and his sig reverb pedal, cuz that's his practice setup
Sound like Muse by busting please
Already done I believe :)
Bryan Contreras no, they did without busting on both
Isaac Miller i own a marshall 4•10 and th30, cort mbc-1 and a zvex fuzz factory... I get really close with that
Cort make some cracking gear. Pete Trewavas of Marillion fame is quite partial to them. Except his Warwick and flowery Rickenbackers that guy seems to go for the cheapest thing that plays well (Ibanez and Yamahas etc)
figured you'd go for a wah pedal since Katana hasn't got that.
It does- you need an expression pedal to access it though.
I own that HH tele with the coil tap and it’s fantastic! Plays wonderfully
Well done couldn't have picked a better setup! Love that guitar
Sound like Cream
Yamaha Pacifica 311H - one of the most versatile guitars I own (P90 and Humbucker w/coilsplit). And an absolut joy to play! Retails for about 280 Euros in Germany...
I own a Pacifica. At least they look great.
It's not too bad. I'm a Les Paul guy, so don't listen to me. If you like Strats, it's okay. They are playable.
Reviews for that one are blazing.
you forgot the Epiphone G-400 pro (SG copy)!!!! only about 400 pounds, coil split, great tones, great value!
The lightspeed was the 2nd ever overdrive I got and it’s never going off my board!:)
Sound like Megadeth Please
I would love to see a Jerry Garcia or Bob Weir episode. Either by busting the bank or not! I would be all over that.
£1500 Mac ? Blows the budget a little
I was about to say the same, the computer adds cost.
Another great video guys! And Bea, your playing is inspiring. Gorira next PLEASE!
I would love to see this same rundown with a Boss Katana ARTIST. I know the Artist upgrade may "bust the bank" but would still love to see.
Sound like frank zappa pls
please do metallica by busting the bank
bassman 19200 yes. Why haven't they done this yet?
i dont know honestly. its a perfect rig for busting budget
When Rabea tonally goes to the desert, everyone's ears win.
Nicely done lads. That sounded GREAT. Was a bit sceptical of the guitar choice but even I fancied buying an Ibanez after that.
