I just bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Sport, which is the name for this vehicle when it's sold in North America. It seems identical to what's in the video, but with a 1.8 litre petrol engine, at a very low price. The car is in excellent condition: 75k miles, 121km. This car was well taken care of. This car apparently sat on the lot because 'nobody wants to drive a manual transmission any longer.' That wouldn't be a problem for me. My prior car had a short lifetime due to the worst CVT transmission available. RIP Nissan. When I drove this Hyundai, it reminded me of a BMW 2002 that I drove for several weeks in the early eighties. It's déjà vu, all over again! Everything in this car is nice: It handles beautifully with a tuned suspension, great 6-speed gearbox, and the interior is nicely appointed. I am glad that it doesn't have all the innumerable driver's assist technology aids which are so prevalent in today's cars. For me, it's a win-win!
Why are the Focus and VW a benchmark in this class? VWs used to be good, now they're crap. They're really overpriced and the interior quality is not that great. I'd pick a Hyundai i30 any day before a Focus or overpriced overrated golf!
I love the way you do car reviews. Ive been a fan of the ford focus as it is very fun to drive. Now thar I am confused between buying a ford focus 1.6 tdci, a golf 6 1.6 tdi or a hyundai 1.6 crdi. Which one do you think is better to keep for a 5 years period of time
Hi, thank you for your comment - we would recommend the Hyundai i30 because it's better built than the Ford and more affordable to maintain than the Volkswagen.
Mazda 3 and 6 diesel engines have double the power and torque and the same fuel economy, so that's not particularly stella performance from the i30 Skyactive diesel specs; 130 kilowatts of power at the wheels along with 420NM of torque, and 71 mpg at the pumps top speed 140 mph!, And the Mazda 6 is a big sleek well designed and good looking saloon not some sardine can
And the Mazda Diesels are literal hand Granades, can’t sell them second hand because people know, people have had multiple engines replaced by the dealers only to have them shit themselves again, wouldn’t touch a Mazda Diesel with a barge pole.. petrol on the other hand, go your hardest !!

I absolutely love my 2015 i30 here in Australia. A great little car with a lot of value for money.
Great!
have you done any fuel consumption calculations? The other day I calculated 6.4L/100km of only highway driving
@@niconiconnudiesel or petrol?
Steering setting comfort is all I use.
Best setting ever.
Super super car, real quality I love it, it ticks every box

Very good in depth review..impressed
Thanks!
Good review but so difficult to find one in France with low kilometers and well equiped. Few sales in the last decade. But very good car 👍
Appreciate that!
I have found one
My 2012 i30 still running perfectly. Have had to spend nothing on it about from replacing tires and one set of brake pads.
diesel or petrol?
1.6 or 1.4?
Interesting pronunciation of decaaades 😜 good review though looking at purchasing this next to upgrade from my 2002 vw golf mk4
Thanks!

Man in taller mate's borrowed jacket plays pocket snooker whilst talking bollocks about an ordinary car.

@@niconiconnu It's actually hunnydaayy....you got it wrong too....just joking :) Aussies say Hee-un-day. Americans say Hunday
I heard a Korean guy in a video say it is actually pronounced like "Hunday". Just like "sunday".
