You are going to need to add rubber to the front wheels as well as the back otherwise he won’t be able to steer it, it will have too much torque from the rear for those hard plastic front wheels to get any traction
ua-cam.com/video/8n_NJ2uIDU8/v-deo.html Think u might want to watch this to help your hot battery problem hot battery is a sign of over discharging ur batters with lithium batteries don’t like being over discharged and can catch fire. Thought u might like this video for peace of mind. Love this video by the way teaching them young the need for speed lol
i run it on 5s 50C lipo..which has twice the discharge as 5s 20c Lion ( drill battery)..ive also made 6s lion (24v)out of the dewalt. it has the same power as the 5s 50c lipo....The kids are on 24v ( lead acid) motion trendz ATV..it's faster than 18v powerwheels (12 -15mph)...it has HEATSINK and 570 stock motors..the gears are holding up fine for a 75lb kid...You can get used for $20-$50...or swap out the gear box/motors and mount it on a power wheel..ect it'll keep up with a stock s300 scooter. No funking wiring. spades are fine 9ah gets more than 1 hour.... it'll be too easy to install live axle and BRAKES and 1500-2000watt BRUSHLESS on 36-48v..when they get older ( 20 mph plus easy)..Use Gardening dividers...so it'll still power slide/drift....You dont want it to traction roll or strip the gears...when the kids yank the steering.... 15 mph is plenty fast for doing donuts and power slide in the hood. Less traction acts like a slipper clutch to prevent gears stripping
You know you've done something awesome when grown men like myself are jealous of a kids toy! I hope you've got more tires on order, he's going to burn through those in no time!
Those Power Wheels give years of fun. In 1985 I got my son a Power Wheels BigFoot F150 Lasted forever. Gave it to my nephews they had it for a long time too. Loving the Milwaukee battery swap.
Awesome dad. I'm gonna do this for my daughter. She just asked me the other day. "Daddy, when I grow up, can I race you in a car?" I was in tears nodding my head yes with the proudest smile on my face. Audi A4 B7 stage 2
I use the 18v Ryobi battery on my girls jeep. The stock tires lasted about a week. It now has some harbor freight dolly tires. The battery is directly wired in, she loves how fast it goes.
Just so you know if you clean the tire up super clean you can use E3000 adhesive to attach the bike tire rubber on it won't come off any time soon. Did it to my son's hot wheels. I had upgraded the motor, battery and tires.
My partner has a lot of tools, so when he needed a circular saw, I ordered this one for him as a Christmas gift. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxYDKeIjKLOfcwTgdin7TtCutsz4MbIc43 He is incredibly happy with the purchase. He stated that he likes that it is powerful, but still easy to use and cuts very well. He mentioned that it is important to know the right tools for the job at hand, and this compact saw has been exactly what he needed for a variety of projects at his rental properties and renovations. He also appreciates the battery packs, as stated, he owns a lot of DEWALT tools, so he is able to always keep batteries charged as needed.
I loved watching this, we had a friend who used to build race cars and raced also, his sons FIRST cars had 5 a point safety Harness! Their poor mom! But she was a good sport and those boys have ABSOLUTELY wonderful memories of their dad who has since passed, and THAT is what it is all about! Keep making those memories, include your children in your passion, it will pay off in the end for all of you. Now what kind of car did they have, I would like to get one for my grandson. Thank you for sharing , I smiled and laughed the whole time.
Milwaukee tools never cease to amaze me. I have tended to take the yellow ones off the shelf and then after six months my batteries are all dead. You can't pile that many of them on the cart to do something and try and get half hour or more/less out of them so that you get all the wheels off when doing brakes or rims etc. Sorry just too tired to make a comment without screwing up on the screen.... say more later
Ex Gremory arent drag tires suppose to help with traction tho lol not slow you down overall but help you go faster..... Gokart tires would just be too heavy for that little thing lok
I found a pretty torn up mercedes benz power wheels car in a reservoir style ditch, it was next to a ramp entering the ditch and im guessing high schoolers rode down it and broke some of it, i took it home and grabbed the scattered parts everywhere and im definitely making a drift car out of it😆
i once told my friend you dont know how to hold a flashlight your father didnt teach you. i immediately felt like shit because my half ass daddy taught me and his dad not at all. i recanted and said my bad bro. just try to think where my eyes would be pointed at and try to keep the light their with the least amount of shadow.
Such an awesome Video. Love that you are a huge family man. Maybe you can convince Laura to let you hook up both batteries and let Logan rip it around a little 😎
For some reason I was expecting you to replace the power wheels motor with the drill motor. Just watched a video on the "Cars and Cameras" channel where they are heavily modifying a Bronco power wheels and they showed how small the original motor is. Great video! Love seeing your sons have that much fun! Reminds me of throwing the go-cart in the back of the station wagon and going driving around the Sears parking lot on Sundays! (Back when everything was closed on Sunday!)
My dad put a car battery in my challenger power wheels and coated the tires in rubber it would drift and spin out but the drill battery work really well
When i was a kid,we had a jeep powerwheel and my dad put like 3 12V battery in it. I would put it in reverse and then slamme it in drive and the thing would do wheelie. Such good time
We found some old lawnmower tires and cut the treads off and epoxied them to the back tires on my nephews Jeep. It’ll pull the front wheels when it hooks now lol
I read somewhere that the drifting is intentional to reduce motor stress, adding rubber AND running at 18v will stress the motors too much. They sell a soft start module for that.
Nice work, I did my sons ninja atv last year, used the Dewalt and made my connection, burnt up the foot switch, still need to fix, but they are awesome juiced up! Great dad💯
You should put in a voltage cutoff so it didn't drain the m18 battery to the point where it won't take a charge anymore. I did the save thing to my two kids power wheels with the same m18 battery, and it is fast!! They love it. I set my voltage cutoff at 16.5v.
A concerned mother and an over-enthusiastic dad means two boys are definitely having a great time burnin' plastic tires in their driveway. I have a Jurrasic Park Jeep power wheels for my kiddos. I would love to see their faces with Ryobi battery adapter.
I had a little tikes hummer H2. I’d shift from 2nd to reverse and get it to drift a little bit. that hummer has been sold and is still going 10 years later. hope the new ones are made with the same toughness.
Awesome and cool Idea I will definitely be trying it. However on first speed trial there were 2 kids in the car. On second trial only one. That will change the speed considerably.
If anyone want's to do this same mod for there kid's I put a link in description for both Milwaukee & DeWALT adapters. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Don’t forget to take the wires out of the bike tires And you should see if you can upgrade the motors
It’s like a real mustang, no traction control lmao 😂😂

There's something so adorable about fathers making projects that their kids can test and enjoy.
Keep him drifting and keep him going faster. You have a future drift champion.
Yep
I was thinking the same dam thing I went thru all comments to see if I can find anything about that and some one did.
Yeah

You’ll get Ricky Bobby

Lil drag slicks 🤣

I would totally go to town on those tires with rubber spray

Dad of the year 💪🏆
Little man has some mad drifting skills!!! 🚘
That is just too cute, he looks like a real race car driver. AWESOME!
So is no one gonna talk about the '69 Camero in the back? Sick car man!
Was looking at it lol

Gotta be one of the best proud dad moments I’ve seen. Hahaha. His drift is awesome.
10:25 mustang living up to its name
Yes exactly
Well we know who the next big time drifter is going to be. Love the daddy's spending time with the kids. Good job guys.
Lil man going into the drifting scene with those slides & that control ! Next year you gotta have him in a real car 🤷🏻♂️😂
Get him in a real car Literally 😂😂
Got the “real money” 🤔

Audi A4 B7 stage 2
so serious questions.
1: have you had issues with the extra voltage to the smaller motors?
2: how long does a charge last?
Same questions but no answers anywhere. I bet this extra power fries the mainboards and motors...
@@jamil420 If it's a 6v power wheel and you use a 18-20v Battery it won't last long.
The 12v powerwheels however can handle even 24v without problems
Did this to a quad few yrs ago and my neighbors son wore the wheels in two pieces...lol.
Was alot of fun.
This car is cool also.
definitely need to do this for my son when he is a bit older!!!
I use the 18v Ryobi battery on my girls jeep. The stock tires lasted about a week. It now has some harbor freight dolly tires. The battery is directly wired in, she loves how fast it goes.
This video deserves to go viral ! The smile on your son’s face proves you’re dad of the century ... new sub btw as well
Dad of the century lmao.
Put a 24 volt in there so it would be like ur gt500 with the gen 3😎😂best dad
yes
He should
I think the motor and board will pop
Why stop there? They make 60V batteries now.
ya
Finally some smart MUSTANG drivers😂 who actually know how to drive

JD JoyrideTV you should put go kart tires on it

Since the stock harness for the stock battery was there you should’ve hooked both up 🤪
Dude....your kids the man. I cant believe how fast he picked up driving/drifting that thing w the extra power. Kids guna be a pro racer
He'll be in jail by the time he's 18.

I was thinking the same thing. Even the property looks kinda similar.
Do the Milwaukee batteries have low voltage cut out built in? You could toast your batteries pretty quick....
For some reason I was expecting you to replace the power wheels motor with the drill motor. Just watched a video on the "Cars and Cameras" channel where they are heavily modifying a Bronco power wheels and they showed how small the original motor is.
