Only a semi-amphibious vehicle, but my grandfather helped with the testing of the M29 Weasel during the war. He served in WWII in Europe and in the Korean War. I find the all-terrain vehicles of that era really interesting.
I'm pretty sure that's for piano wire/string traps. I've never heard of a snorkle for a jeep before now, but I've definitely heard mention of those bars for piano wire.
I'm surprised people see that as a snorkel but I already know it's not because there is no hole at the top plus Infront looks like a blade and discovered that it was use for cutting neck booby traps place by the Germans when the soldiers are driving that blade will cut the wire protecting the driver and passenger.
My dad and I tried to find a WWII jeep to rebuild for down at our lake house. He died before we could do it but still want to buy one if anyone has any ideas where to get it?!

I wish they made the M38A1 during WW2! It would have been MUCH better a crossing water. (It’s fully waterproof)
