    You're awesome, chef AJ! It's been so long since I've had ranch dressing, and I'd forgotten that the spicy hidden valley ranch was my favorite. So, I'm know that I will love this dressing. I've been eating whole foods for so long now that whenever I tried to have a "cheat" treat, it doesn't taste good at all. Anything store-bought(processed vegan foods) just tastes like chemicals to me now. I can't imagine eating any other way--whole foods :) Thanks Chef AJ ;)

    Made this today, and my weakness for BBQ potato chips is replaced. Poured this on a baked Yukon Gold and freshly pressure cooked black eye peas with generous parsley on top. I quit buying BBQ potato chips but if the kids brought them I would finish the bag to the last crumb, this hits that taste.

    Hello! You ofcourse are amazing!!!! I think I heard you say you can’t eat beans? I know you don’t eat nuts. My Mom has gerd & now osteoporosis but trying to avoid meds. She is 78 & wants to go vegan & me too. I have been vegetarian with RA but dreaming of a plant based lifestyle. Do you have tips for gerd & osteoporosis I know that would help both of us. My Mom has to be a bit careful with beans & a little slower than I am to embrace the plant way.

    Mmmmm, looks delish! I am going to try it and add a few sundried tomatoes too. I will probably use fewer dates as well. I always find dressings and other foods too sweet. I kinda don't like sweet in my savory foods. My personal food rule. :-)

      Print the email invoice to PDF, or if you have a smartphone, take a screen capture of the email invoice.
      Attach the PDF or the screen capture to the Chef AJ email.

    The recipe looks delicious, but I am curious about your remark about it being extremely low calorie. Don't figs add a lot of calories? Do you have a number at all for about how many calories there are per tablespoon? Thanks.

    I made this tonight for dinner! While it tastes delicious, I wouldn't describe it as a dressing. Even though I added extra water, it was just too thick to call dressing. Also, I wouldn't describe it as ranch. Nothing about it tastes like ranch. Trying to figure out what else I can use it for besides salad since the texture isn't quite right for me for dressing...

    • @LenkaSaratoga
      @LenkaSaratoga 4 роки тому

      Call it what you will. If Chef AJ did not call it “ranch” (very familiar and popular fatty dressing), it would not have gotten your attention.

    • @LenkaSaratoga
      @LenkaSaratoga 4 роки тому

      PS call it what you will, eat it ad you please. And learn to say thanks for what’s offered freely and in good will (something you happen to use and enjoy) instead of taking your time to wright criticisms instead if thanks.

      @MKL-pf9qn 4 роки тому +3

      @@LenkaSaratoga I am quite thankful for Chef AJ and her recipes! I don't think my comment was critical. I want to let others know my experience as I find comments from people who have actually prepared the dish quite useful. My wish is to not be critical but helpful in sharing my experience. I hope that you will do the same instead of attacking others who wish to comment and share their experience.

      @@MKL-pf9qn I made it as well and it was not the consistency I would use for salad. I put it on steamed vegetables but didn't really care for the taste or consistency. And that is okay! Everyone's taste is different.

    How long do soak the dates in the lime juice?

    • @CHEFAJ
      @CHEFAJ  4 роки тому +1

      It depends on how much time you have, but a couple of hours should be fine. If you have less time, you can use boiling water.😊

      @M and L Lathrop she said that it was from Pampered Chef. It's the Micro-Cooker, and I believe that it comes in a few sizes. It's not listed in the show notes, but she mentioned it in this video and others.

    This sounds like an excellent recipe... But I have to keep my sugar down also... I've never cooked anything with dates... Aren't they high in sugars?

    • @CHEFAJ
      @CHEFAJ  4 роки тому

      Yes, they do have natural sugar, but they are a whole food and not refined . If weight or sugar (as you mentioned) is a problem, I would use them sparingly. You can also lower the amount to taste.
