    Why was the snowman standing out in the vegetable garden?
    He was picking his nose.

    I've only had experience with Boeshield, and it seems to have worked well enough on the few items I've used it on. Good to see all the others being tested. Thanks!

    Really interesting Stuart. I sprayed down my Mill and both of my lathes with the Fluid Film a couple of months ago, but they are indoors. After spraying them I wiped them down with a blue paper towel. It would be very interesting to me to see a group that had been wiped after spraying. I have heard lots of good stuff about the Fluid Film, but I don't have any long-term experience with it yet. As always thanks for bringing us along.

    As an aside, can they be refreshed? Spray a portion a second time like three months later to see if they can be amend. I use fluid film on the frame of my jeep. Unlike tar or plastic dealership rust protection this is doesn’t crack or hold water beneath it and hide rust and water pockets. The reason I detest powder coating, just destroys the metal underneath it.

    It would be interesting to try a clear laquer spray in the group.

    This test is amazing. I'm surprised how well the vertices surface of the control is doing. Depending on how this plays out, I might just do my next car paint job with cosmoline.
    That would be funnier than the snowman picking his nose!

    Snow is evil. Cold is evil. Rust is evil.
    I don't know, but I've been told, Eskimo... um, toes are mighty cold! Haha!
    I've never tried WD-40 rust inhibitor but in my experience standard WD-40 isn't worth the can it ships in for indoor long term rust prevention so the exterior results don't surprise me much. I do admit it works well for displacing moisture temporarily and light lubrication. Thanks for doing this test Stuart, I've tried various things over the years and never found a magic bullet besides a paint type coating which obviously doesn't play well for machined surfaces.

    To prevent things from rusting, maybe we should just not create them... but that's way less fun :)
    Very interesting test, Stuart.

    It'd be good to see how car polish compares, I use car polish to stop my guns rusting and it works better than anything else I've tried.. it lasts a really long time, it doesn't peel, it's difficult to rub off and it doesn't make your hands sticky or oily

      Are you thinking Turtle Wax or something similar? Several people in the first video suggested a bunch of home brew rust preventatives, like cooking spray, paste wax, and used motor oil. I can add car polish to the list.

      @markshort9098 Рік тому +1

      @@StuartdeHaro yeah turtle wax or any other cheap polish.. I'm currently using armoral liquid polish because it's just something I inherited and liquid is easier to use but any cheap polish seems to work good.. the cheaper polishes are mostly silicon based and seem to work best
