Great idea to use a real life case from another channel. Great video 👍🏻
Always fun to help others and help showcase other people. 😁👍
I agree with the other comments that using real world examples is really helpful in understanding the Fairlight workflow. More of this please!
Thanks and noted!
Thanks for doing this!!! Now I get to watch the pro!
You got it! Thanks for the clip! I don’t know about a pro - just a guys that’s knows a little bit. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski, a good guy that know quite a bit! 👍🏼
@JasonYadlovski, 👍🏼👍🏼Yet another GREAT tutorial! 👍🏼👍🏼And another great video that's well done!👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. 😁
It turned out great. This is going to speed up my workflow a lot! 😎
😁👍
Brilliant tutorial Jason 👍😊 I rarely step into the Fairlight tab. I tend to export the soundtrack to Audacity usually, but this is sooooo much easier.....plus you have the video there as your guideline of course which you don't get in Audacity. Will definitely be trying these techniquies in future.
Thanks! At this point, there’s really no reason to take Audio outside of Davinci Resolve. You really don’t gain anything by doing that. You can always use any plug-ins that you have in another program in Fairlight as well. 😜
Excelent job, Jason. And great real world footage. More footages like this will be welcome.... : - )
Thanks and noted! I’ll have to bring back my “I edit your audio series “ 😜
Fantastic, Jason - cheers sir 🙏🤘
Thanks, Gary!
Fortunately Jason explain us Fairlight … the best one
😜👍
Thx J, this does help with the climb.
😁👍
Awesome video!
Thanks! 😜👍
Wow! This is an excellent example, thank you. Wondering... is right-click > Normalize to a Target Value in Resolve identical to the Dialogue Leveler? You spoke the word "Balance" often- is that the same as Normalize or Dialogue Leveler? Yes, I'm a bit confused by these terms and whether the 3 of them all mean the same and have the same result.
Normalizing isn't the same as the dialogue leveler. The dialogue leveler will change levels and add some dynamics. Normalization is just one volume adjustment.
Thank you Thank you, I shoot similar stuff, This was so helpful.
Awesome, you’re welcome! I like this kind of content, I wish I could do this type of thing around me! 😜😁👍🛻
Thanks for a very cool tutorial. Would you also consider using a cross-fade audio transition where the keyframes are to make the volume changes less noticeable?
You’re welcome! For sure, a cross fade definitely help with those transitions. It’s worth a try.
Really interesting but I'm not quite ready for the sound yet...still need to find the save button :)
It's so good
Thanks for checking out the video!
Thanks for the video. You taught me so much stuff about fairlight. So just curious I just invested in the zoom f3 with 32-bit float. What y'all think about it. I've done for amount of research. But people that have used it with fairlight would be cool to hear from. Would love to see a video about it even. 32-bit float in fairlight. Maybe I should make a video when I get it. However my channel is not really about that sooo. Lol anyway great stuff. I always like to leave a comment to boost you in the algorithm. Hard working channels like this deserve it.
You’re welcome! I haven’t used any 32-bit float audio just yet, but it seems like it’s a great thing. I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on some audio that is 32 bit float and see if I can play with it.
Nicely done. I was thinking a combination of fader automation + compressor & make up. I know the old alt-click to make key points, but I hate it. I recently did an interview where my partners mike lost batterie. So, I have to do the same thing with a lengthy conversation. Istopped doing it as it is a headacke job. After seeing Your automation video, I think I try this alternative route. I let You know about the result.
Awesome, let me know how it works out!
@@JasonYadlovski it went great. I did compressor and fader automation. I wish I could get my midi controller to work to use the manual fader. But even with the mouse, so much better than doing it with alt-click. Thanks for the inspiration.
A little update: I just tried to control fader automation with my wacom graphic tablet and pen: much easier and more precise than with the normal mouse!
Hey Jason. Just found your channel while searching for an option to reduce wind noise in resolve.
While riding on my motorcycle I have some really wind background noise I can’t get rid of. Any tips? I already tried all kinds of filters and settings you show here on your channel, but nothing really seems to fix my problem.
Hi! Thanks for checking out my channel! Id use the voice isolation if you have studio. That’s going to do the best job. You don’t need to crank it all the way up but you could use somewhere around 20 or 30% and it might do a good job.
@@JasonYadlovski I only have the normal version of resolve at the moment, but I guess it’s time to upgrade 😉
It's totally worth the upgrade. You could also try the Waves Clarity VX plugin. It works in a very similar way. You can find that on sale for 29.99 if you keep an eye out for it.
Thanks again Jay for helping us audio noobs deal with this stuff. I've found your channel quite helpful and wonder if I could make a request. I've been using the audio ducking feature (thanks for that vid, too), but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the audio to ease up to full volume after spoken stuff is done. It just hits back to the normal volume in one go and is jarring. Do I have to resort to using keyframes and "manually" ease the audio up to full? I've been playing around with different things in the dynamics window (like hold and attack, etc), but the problem still eludes me. Probably the answer is staring me in the face! LOL Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.
You’re welcome! With the audio ducking, to make it ease back up a little more gradually, go into the compressor on your music channel, make the hold a little bit longer, maybe half a second and then turn up the release. The release is what will allow it to ease back to the normal volume overtime. The longer the release time the slower, it will go back to the normal volume.
OMG do I feel like a dope. It was right there, but I just didn't understand the correlation and relationships between the functions. Probably need to hit the manual for some more review. I'll update my preset now. Oy vey. Thanks a ton.@@JasonYadlovski
Here’s a refresher video I did

hey sir , I make asmr and I use blue yeti but my asmr audio is not crispy like other asmr creators, can you make a tutorial for asmr audio? please its a big request aslo there is no tutorial for that on yt so it would help alot
Hi! Just so I understand (i'm not into ASMR 😜) You want to know how to make your audio super crispy and ultra clear, correct? Guess I'd have to make some samples to show how to do that. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski yessir! Thank you tat would help me alot :)) I would also love to see you do some asmr 🤭
Btw can you please check the channel called lowe asmr , I am looking for his audio quality , he got the best asmr audio editing skills can you breakdown how he does that?
i dont really understand how to use so many keyframes for audio
With all the keyframes in this video, I was just trying to balance everything a bit. To help try and get everything consistent....
