- In this vlog we touring our tour guides family's suki farm. We get an inside on how it is planted, the process and when to harvest it. The farm also includes other veggies that are planted there.
After touring the farm we head to the village to do our sevusevu and grog session at naita Meres house.
During the grog session they show us the equipment on how to roll the suki and we get to try some local suki from there and we can say it gave the VUDE.

Beautiful culture Bula💯 Awesome how she gave you guys a tour of her family farm. Great hospitality
Totally worth the "business trip" and finishing off with grog, suki, and lunch in Vuniqoru village, Nadroga sealing the suki deal. 🤝
You guys were screwed the moment the big tea cup came out, no wonder "Johehe" wanted a carton of beer for wash down. 😂
I've always been fascinated by the different kinds of Fijian sevusevu. It's these types of traditions that make you proud to be a Pacific islander. Greetings from Vanuatu 👋
7:35 "Suki planted yesterday, Today grow, tomorrow harvest" Villiame ain't got time to wait for a smoko 🤣🤣🤣😂
Lol
viliame, the main bad ass fallaaa...
Haha 😂
Josese is already onto it. He's talking about crop rotating and harvest etc... he'll be an asset in the suki production. 💯
That's experience talking 🫡
Great video. I really enjoyed this one. Many thanks to Mere and her family for showcasing the true hospitality of the Fijian people. Na lomavinaka kei na lomasavu au raica ena tovo ni bula ni nomudou matavuvale. Sa rauta me me tubu ka vuavua vinaka na teitei. God bless
💯
Amazing hospitality from some amazing villagers. And shoutout to the people who made this trip possible 😊
Watching this video just made me respect these boys more, they show so much respect for elders and for their villagers.
Now we know why they call this region the fruit (and vegetable) bowl of Fiji.

Man the crops are fully grown in the valley..this village can actually host visitors with kava, suki and food for them...
Kroy saying let's go home pointing to the tour guides' house 😂😂😂 ask the village elders if you boys could buy some suki plant to take back with you to Navuti to grow 😊 what a very beautiful village, very hospitable ❤🎉
I like the kava ceremonial aspect of the tour. I especially like the fact that young people are carrying on that part of the culture which is steeped in the true essence of Fijian heritage and traditions. Good job boys.
Boys- "What's the village called?"
Uraia- "GOOD NIGHT, It's written on the blanket" 😂😂😂😂
Vaqara tale oratou na blanket😄

Bula from Las Vegas. USA. Always wanted to see the farms in Sigatoka valley. Thank you for sharing.
This was very interesting👍🏾 the village farm is really nice, all the produce growing so gooooooda 👍🏾their hospitality towards Navuti guys very nice people😊 thank you guys for taking us along on this tour, very educational about the Suki process👍🏾 here in PNG, my parents & grandparents & cousins all smoke Suki, we call it 'Brus' but we dont go through the extra process of rolling it up & weaving it as you all do, which is so interesting & cool. Here once the leaves are dried then we just smoke it 🤭 but thank you Mere & family for this educational tour👍🏾🙏🏾 Godbless you all. Safe trip back Navuti kings 😊❤
Hello guys, yes it is a beautiful village and very clean and tidy. The villagers obvious take pride in their village. Obviously good money to be made in Suki and Josese is already reorganising the rotation of crops in his mind as obviously good income from good Suki. The Fijian people are always very hospitable and welcoming although life is not easy they are always very giving. As a whole we could learn a lot from the Fijian people and I feel it would be a better world. What a good trip❤️

Keep it up ura!!
Hello Tabua, I am a fan of your UA-cam channel. I am thrilled by the Fijian culture and I will continue to watch your channels. keep them coming. Greetings from PNG, Vinaka!!
There is a whole world of tobacco processing...like tea... depending on how you want you use the final product (cigar, snuff, etc.) and what flavour aroma you desire. Even the Brazilian process very rarely done now was like a three-stage barrel ferment process of some nature. and beside aging curing it can be roasted or smoked brfkre final drying.
That big yellow cup of yaqona will send me home. Ciba vahilaga🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing your guys journey. Very interesting watching you all! 👍🏿
Isaaaa totoka boys, vinaka na loloma Marama Dreuuuu

More hour long vlogs brother please ❤️❤️
Yes please Uraia…45min too short lol
Food looks, so so yummy, i miss fijian food, especially lovo food, the best lovo food..
The ceremonial aspect of drinking kava is so beautiful. We could learn a thing or two from them about treating intoxicants with a bit more respect, instead of getting hammered and fighting. The Aztec and Mayans show the same respect with ayehuasca.
That's what kava was originally meant for since it's was mainly for chiefs and elders only back in the day, it's still being treated with respect today despite some people overdoing it like alcohol.
When Uaraia said Luke is the chief his face HAHAHAHAHAHA
Whoever that lady is, she is well spoken and beautiful Bula representation of the mighty people of Vunaqoru village!!! Love this video. Great content and insight into the inner working of Suki farming, harvesting, and market in Viti.

One of the Best videos yet. Love the Ava and suki sessions. Alofa Atu!!🌺🤙
the best so far lovely culture love it bula
Talofa boys.
So they clip the tops and suckers off the tobacco plants to concentrate all nutrients toward the old large leaves. That’s basic farming techniques to yield large size crops.
The village can also look into livestocks as chickens and ducks to offset farming the land.
We do the same to cannabis top and lollipop for maximum yields
Bula Ura and the village boys
