- Tears of the Kingdom's final trailer dropped! I'm still hyped as ever for the game. To keep it going I made a map comparison of Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild. Thanks to Lazy Garden Gamer for the help referencing the map.

you need to go rewatch the 1st memory with the knowledge of totk in mine some of the references to older games can be aplied to what we know of totk and some of the theories for it
I have 700 hours in this game and literally would not be able to tell you where these places are lol y’all are talented
As I was watching I was thinking about how we had the memories quest in botw where we had to look at a picture and find it on the map. That’s exactly what he had to do here except this is on expert mode 😂
People like this guy probably know Hyrule’s fictional geography better than the country they live in lmaooo

Oh wow, those shots of Ganondorf being at the shrine of resurrection make so much sense. It seems the place Zelda is, near lake Hylia, is also important because we see link dive past exactly the same platform at the beginning of the trailer, right outside that giant tower we keep seeing
Same place, different times ?
There's no sky islands above Zelda and she seems pretty low, close to the ground.
Lets hope he is not there from teh get go.
I mean I am going to SoR first thing to retrace my initial steps from BotW and if he is there already its a bid sad we already know where he is before we play the game.

the lighting seems to have gotten a big upgrade ive noticed, even in similar lighting conditions totk just looks better

Is it 1080p? Vs BOTW 900p?

@@86Rikki I would not be surprised if they kept similar resolution. It allows them to focus on other things like lighting and frame rate and textures can be improved as well as improved anti aliasing which will improve visuals without resolution. To me, resolution comes after everything else that you want to do unless it is specifically holding you back.
Also, with the increased draw distance, I think higher resolution would tax that a lot more.
Not that I am against going to 1080p lol
The benefit TOTK does have is a lot more power to work with. BOTW was coded for WiiU and then given some sprucing up for Switch, but TOTK could be built from the ground up to use Switch power, but I think they also are using that extra power for improved gameplay elements and even character models are improved by a lot.

I'll be honest thus far I am really happy with how much the map has changed!
I gotta to point out the place where Ganon "appears" is right outside the shrine of resurrection. I wonder if he somehow used it to rejuvinate his mummylike body back to normal.

It is where the temple of time is located after all. There is so much reference to time travel in this game aswell.
It’s where it all started with BotW, final battle being there in TotK would bring this full circle 😊
Not just that it seems there all a lot of things around that area, Ganondorf horse is south of there in botw, and theres a massive glyph on the hill west of Lake hylia

Probably safe to say neither the structure that came up from the sand or the sink holes are Arbiter's Grounds since they both seem to be further away. Amazing video!
Lanayru Mining Facility. Still the wrong location, but it’s the right shape and they’ve moved a lot of other things.
Maybe it’s a structure tied to it? Arbiter’s Grounds can be seen to the left of the structure coming out of the sand. It’s so dark it’s hard to say if anything else is going on. My first stop after totk’s starting area is the desert. Thanks for leaving a comment!

Thanks Ace! That one was so difficult. I recorded that shot like 15 times trying to line it up correctly. I still couldn’t get it 100% I think this was close enough.
Such a great video! Matching up the camera angles is wild enough on its own, but to have found nearly every single shot from the trailer is absolutely nuts!

So, some people think that zelda is somewhere in the past. But seeing this comparison, I'm not too sure about that since the trees that we can see in the distance are placed in the exact same position. If it were another time (probably thousand of years), I think it would make more sense if the vegetation was different. Trees won't stay the same for thousands of years.
Great comparison, is this the best we can get for matching the sun direction? I hear it travels at a different trajectory than before.
Yes, without modifying the game. Some of the shots I intentionally changed the time but most are as close as I could get.
How high up was the shot with Zelda near the Great Plateau? Like, is that structure going to be on the plateau or hovering above it? I haven't seen anyone mention her being there before now, its a really good find!
This is a lot to unpack! So, from this comparison, Ganon is standing in front of the Shrine of Resurrection and this may be how he resurrects into his new body!

Normally I would make an analysis video but I didn’t want to go that deep into it. The final trailer is as far as I go spoiler wise. That is from the final trailer. I used audition to take out the voices. It didn’t come out the best. Worked for what I needed it for.

3:00 This is really interesting because this means there is no lava outside death mountain and it isn't even hot outside anymore as Link isn't in flamebreaker armor.

Comparing these screenshots, it looks like the graphics or whatever it's called, looks a lot better in totk, looking at faraway objects looks better then It does in totk, the water even has the sun reflecting on it

I have a strong feeling that link went back in time. Everything In hyrule in botw looks like the after math of totk . And not the other way around.
No one seems to be talking about how the graphics are slightly improved. Mainly the textures on the mountains look much better and the water looks more realistic.
Well they said this was gonna be bigger then BOTW so that will be awesome too especially by the trailer we even have new monsters to fight

The great plateau definitely has a major role in totk.

Psst, you can modify the sun's slope to match TotK.
They don’t match. I didn’t match the day of time in every shot so that you can see clearly. The team moved the sun in game so it’s very difficult to get them 1:1. I’ve spent many many hours trying.

I didn’t know you could do that. Thanks for telling me! I know how to change day/time and stop the position just not the slope. It’s better that I kept the game as close to the original as possible. It gives a good understanding of how much the team has changed the lighting. All enhancements I normally use were disabled for this video.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about the elephant looking thing that link is riding in the first TOTK trailer. Does everyone just think it’s a cutscene thing that won’t be in the game or what? I mean I’ve seen NOBODY talking about it!

It's entirely possible it'll be in the game. Nintendo famously rarely content that isn't found in the game for their trailers. (Like other game studios will make cinematics that aren't found in the game, or they will heavily edit specific areas so the trailers look better by comparison). It's likely that the trailer in the first game uses cutscenes directly used in the final game, which more than likely means that yak thingy you're talking about will make an appearance in game. Whether it's rideable or not is up for debate, though I doubt it will be.
Obviously there is YT compression on the trailer compared to the BotW gameplay but the LOD looks worse in TotK
Most likely because of having to render more but it is still kind of sad to think the sequel is less visually impressive.

There is a slight difference in graphics between botw and totk. The graphics in totk are better, with lighting and stuff, and the contrast of the colours are also better in comparison. The way that the light hits the characters looks really good in totk, it did in botw, but in this game it feels like a step up.
